It's Official: America wins war in Afghanistan

Fox News just reported that Afghanistan's Islamic press is officially reporting that the United States has won the war in Afghanistan in an incredible 2 months. The English lost a bloody battle in Afghanistan in the 19th century and the Soviets spent 10 years in this country until they decided that they could no longer fight. The Taliban surrendered the last province in the country and they are confirming that their rule is over after 6 years of controlling the country. The new president of the governing body in Afghanistan is confirming this report.

Is the Taliban and Al-Queda "officially" destroyed? Did the DoD say this? I wasn't aware we were at war with afghanistan. I thought we were pursuing terrorists in their country (and then others) or wherever they may be. Maybe I got it wrong.

My first reaction is "the war is over when we say it's over," not when the Afghanistan Islamic press says. Nevertheless, the military, political, and diplomatic achievements have been extraordinary. The American colossus bestrides the earth like no other power in history. May it always stand for freedom.
