Have you ever wondered what makes democrats think the way they do? I have. Most of the time you can't help bu see that they are just doing and saying what ever it takes to achieve their goals. Sometimes what they say and do is so unbelievable as to be noteworthy. The Washinton Post has an editorial of this magnitude. I suggest that anyone interested visit their site and read it in full.

Clinton said, "...the era of big government is over. But the era of lots and lots of little government has begun."

"...had to admit there was some truth to this argument. For the next two decades, the federal government stopped growing, and by some measures even shrank, with Bill Clinton doing more of the shrinking than any other president..."

Sure, if you define shrinking as a SMALL reduction in the rate of growth.(which is what the govt. does)

"Unity of action and purpose is required, and only the federal government can provide it."

Spoken like a True Believer, Chuckie; Messrs. Marx and Lenin would have been proud of you!

PS: Has anyone else noticed how MS Word spellchecker keeps wanting to substitute "schemer" whenever it finds "Schumer?"

with Bill Clinton doing more of the shrinking than any other president..."

This is true only if one measures government growth by the number of federal workers, and if one includes the military as "federal workers."

"Big government" is over. If you think otherwise, ask any welfare momma who's now coming to the last days of her eligibility under "welfare reform."

Seen any new social programs even proposed lately?

You're not reducing the size of government if you take a bunch of government bureaucrats and do nothing more than make them outside contractors.
That's just the old shell game played with people.

This is all absolute BULL$HIT!!
Clinton gutted the military like a fish!
Clinton hired left wing terrorists like Donna Shalala, who turned HHS into an emmasculation parlor for little boys, and a recruiting parlor foe little lesbians.
Under Reno, we had innocent people burned alive, and the B A T F became a terrorist organization!
The E P A also became a terrorist organization destroying hundreds of farmers for a handful of fish!
Clinton implemented the biggest federal land grab in history!
Have you heaved your breakfast yet??

The more things change; the more they stay the same. Government, particularly the federal government is the least capable of doing anything. The federal government will be insolvent on or before 2012. Some state will secede before then. Once there has been a successful secession, it will be followed by many more. We are likely to see a whole group of regional countries follow with nothing left of the United States except treaty alliances.

If Chuckie gets his way, secession and dissolution will be accelerated. I am not about to give up any of my liberty to anybody.

Clinton SHRANK the federal government????

Damn, I must have been hallucinating for 8 years!
(BTW, the only segment that shrank was, in fact, the armed services.)

All areas of government grew under Clinton except one. The military. It shrank drastically.
