WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) A 24-year-old Russian surgeon studying in Connecticut was fatally struck by a car as he fled a store with three stolen rolls of film, police said.

This doesn't make sense. A bright young orthopedic surgeon panics and loses his life over 3 rolls of film? Unless there was something quite valuable ON that film. They didn't say if it was BLANK rolls of film. OK, tinfoil hat off ;)

Some people growing up under communism, and then gangster capitalism, may view shoplifting and police pursuit differently than we do.

Trying to run across I-84 at that location on a winter Sunday evening is a more certain means of suicide than jumping from the roof of a ten-story building.

"I think that's rubbish," said Ted Kennon, a Yale physician who worked closely with Kuzmin. "I'd be very surprised if there was anything to that."Well, that's it then. A Yale elitist as spoken.
"Nothing to see here, folks. Move along."

How can anyone be a surgeon at age 24?

How can anyone be a surgeon at age 24? By being stubborn very young, which could explain the crash and the mentality.

"Here lies FREEPER CFW. She freeped till the day she died"And then I'll be freepin in Heaven with The Chief, BCM, Barbara, and (we assume) "W".
But it sounds better than "Here lies CFW, she wouldn't even steal toilet paper". Sheesh!

If he's 24 years old, the excuse of "He was afraid because of how the KGB was so horrible in his home country" is a cop-out. How old was he when communism (allegedly) fell??? He should have had plenty of time to adjust to 'free' society... so, I'm guessing he just didn't want to be caught, thinking that he would be deported if convicted of a crime...

Well, the irony (which can be pretty ironic, at times) of this is - I actually am a Dimpled Chad... ;0)
