Posted on 12/12/2001 4:37:17 AM PST by J Schweinbagel
Padon the vanity, but I have a question. Previously when I read FR, I would click on an article, read it, then go back to the main page at the point where I was in the list of articles. Now, when I hit "Back", it takes me back to the top of the list of articles, making me lose my place; I have to remember where I was and scroll back down. Has this been happening to anyone else? Thanks.

Yes--it happens to me too. Yesterday, there was a long thread up about this. Apparently it has something to do with Netscape and some changes that have been made on FR. I hope this is a temporary thing, as it sure can try one's patience.

Solution: set your preferences to open articles in a new window. When done reading article, close window. Your original listing will be as you left it.

You could go to "Destinations" top right of Latest Articles page, open drop down. Click on "My preferences". Scroll to bottom of page, open the drop down window there, select "open in new window" Then click on "set preferences"
Then the latest artcles will stay where you left it last, any article you click on will open in the same new window. You can rock back and forth by clicking on the small winow at the bottom of your screen, or rock bak and forth by holding down the "alt key" and pressing on "Tab"

Wow, that sounds like a complex set of instructions.
Do I have to turn on my computer first?
To: Joe Driscoll
No.
It is really easy to do. Print the instructions and just do it step by step. You will like the results.

This does seem to be a Netscape thing. I have been able to duplicate this with Navigator 4.72.
It does not seem to happen with IE 5.0 or 5.5
I hope this helps
