The Flag of the United States from "Ground zero" is hoisted aloft.
This New York flag will be carried by the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the front.
Heroes on the USS Baatan celebrate a "steel picnic day", as others train becoming special op-capable.

Above, B52 spirals in the sky.
On the ground, pro-US forces take Tora Bora, in the White Mountains, ridge by ridge
The day begins as Pro-US fighters awaken, pray, and move on.
One Pro-US fighter gestures that his watch shows that the latest 8:00 AM deadline is OVER.
The fighters add to their supplies raiding the caves of the munitions and supplies left behind.
Others anti-Taliban fighters arrive and fortify the front lines.
<========================>
North of Kabul, near Bagram, a plainclothed US soldier stands guard with a Northern Alliance soldier.
Filling the tanks with "water of life" --white Hindu Kush mountains in the background--
American soldiers guard their water tanker truck.

<========================>
In Kandahar, Mullah Omar's family compound [bombed 12/11/01] is further examined
Strange surrealistic view. A group of Afghan fighters pose in front of one of Omar's larger paintings.
At Omar's mailbox, US special forces arrive to deliver justice.
.
<========================>
South of Kandahar, on the road to Spin Boldak:
South of Kandahar, at the captured al-Qaida training camp [Tornak Farms],
An Afghan soldier on horse at Tornak Farms. He claims this horse was one of four owned by
Usama bin Laden. Two other of Usama's horses were killed by landmines.
So dangerous are the mines, that at that very camp a brave pro-US antiTaliban fighter was also injured by an inadvertant explosion.
D Notice situation -
In the Kandahar airport, US special forces and the SAS join up. Nice piece.
.

We are putting together a composite of information about this successful chapter of the War for Enduring Freedom.
Taliban soldiers go boom. :) See? Smoking can be hazardous to your health :)
Great photo of the target.
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick...
I was wondering the exact same thing. Anyone know what this guy is carrying?
One wonders that of the returning GI's ,that someday, but mostly the kids , women and fighters of Afghanistan thoughtfully depicted and assembled by you , will become bonafide participants and contributors to FreeRepublic.com.....
I don't know for sure, but I bet the stinking UN has a lot to do with it.
I look forward to them everyday.
