As expected, President Bush announced today that the United States will pull out of the ABM treaty. Russian President Putin, who voiced mild disappointment, said that it would not affect the US-Russian relationship. On a fun note, the President greeted the World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks at the White House today. And, in a very funny moment, Diamondbacks pitcher Randy Johnson, surprised Ari Fleicher with a D-Backs cap. Fleicher, who is a die-hard Yankees fan, enjoyed every minute of it. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The players gave us a fabulous Series. I can't think of a better way to end a World Series, particularly in a time of national need, than in the bottom of the 9th, in the seventh game, everybody watching in the country, people cheering one way or the other, such joy and jubilation.

Don't forget the world wide toast to W. Tonight is the anniversary of Gore's concession speech and W's acceptance speech. I'll drink to that!

What they did to ARi was hilarious, and Ari loved it. I was very glad to see Ari truly laugh, he has such a tough and unrewarding job dealing with those dispicable leftist Liberals in the White House press corp

Randy Johnson is the greatest. We outta ask him to go over to Afganistan and throw baseballs at the heads of the Taliban, sending them right to the ground.
From the Special Olympics dinner this evening at the White House!!!

Maybe it's just my imagination, but this has been a whirlwind kind of day for the President. It was BUSY and an amazing tribute to how this administration can multi-task. In fact, I can't remember the last time I've seen an administration (or read about one) that can manage government activities with such efficiency. As good as Reagan was, even he wasn't this kind of manager/administrator. Most presidents wouldn't even think of doing much of ANYTHING else while waging war abroad.

Meanwhile, I second that emotion on Condoleezza's new 'do. She looks outstanding, as per usual.
I hear tell, at least according to the Compost, that it was Condi who came down on Rummy's side on the ABM affair. Once again, being the last person to talk with the President can make one the most powerful.
Y'all can thank Condi for finally driving a stake through the heart of the ABM treaty.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
