Former Clinton Attorney General Janet Reno and former FBI Director Louis Freeh won't have to explain the government's investigation involving Wen Ho Lee because a judge ruled today that such depositions might hurt nuclear security.
Attorneys for Notra Trulock, the Energy Department's former chief investigator, wanted to take depositions from the two Clintonoids and two FBI agents in hopes they would help show Trulock did not focus the espionage investigation on the Taiwanese-born Lee because of his race, the Associated Press reported.
The Justice Department "doesn't want Freeh and Reno to testify because they have something to hide," said Thomas Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, which is representing Trulock.
The FBI's bungling of the Lee case was one of many major embarrassments for the bureau in recent years. Trulock is suing Lee and two government investigators because he says accusations they made of racial profiling defamed him.
However, U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee today in Arlington, Va., decided that the deposition request was too broad and that nuclear secrets might be spilled.
The attorneys have narrowed their request, AP reported. Now it is up to the Justice Department

Exactly! What nuclear secrets?

Every government since FDR has had scores of officials who have comitted treasonous acts. If they started prosecuting today, ten years from now, there wouldn't be enough prisons in the country to hold all the people awaiting their turn to face the gallows. The current administration is protecting these people, the system, and most importantly, themselves.

Somehow I just can't see Bush running for re-election on the "rule of law" platform. He'll convienently leave out the fact that all former crimes are being buried and covered up. I, for one, shall remind his supporters at EVERY turn. I don't give a damn if the Democratic Candidate (whomever he may be) wins as a result. Both parties are nothing but crime families anyways.

But it is mostly the Democrats that are corrupt and being investigated for their evil corrupt ways. T here is a sense that all politicans are wrong doers

I hope Reno gets massacured in the election. I may take a week down in FLA and get involved in that race.

If it was "mostly" the Democrats that engaged in such criminal behavior, one would think that the Republicans would be all too happy to investigate. They are not investigating. In fact, one could say they are taking an active role in stuffing it all under the rug.
Remember Chinagate? Remember John Huang being charged with HUNDREDS of counts of contempt? Remember the REPUBLICANS that were involved with Chinese money? Remember a certain Republican Senator giving Chinese money back to the donor?
An Irresponsible Congress

Al D'Amato was one. Bush was also backed by Jackson Stephens. Stephens is the number one criminal in this country as far as I'm concered outside of George Soros.
I voted for Bush, but I held my nose doing it. "Buying time" is the best way to describe it.
The thought of more Reno, Eric Holder, Andrew Cuomo, and Albright was just too much to bear.

Both parties are corrupt. If they weren't we would have more than two parties in this country.

I am the ultimate sceptic with respect to all of the branches of the US Gov. The Gov and the maffia are one. Considering the Gov's unaccountability on national security breaches and top secret tech transfers to communnist (China), the slaughter of US citizens by the FBI, BATF, the use of the Army Delta Forces against US citizens(Waco, TX). Our laws mean about as much to the people in the US Gov today as they do to the mob so it seems foolish to expect to see any degree of accountability for any Gov Official. The courts are only there to deliver legal excuses to maintain the status quo.

"because a judge ruled today that such depositions might hurt nuclear security." a Clinton appointed judge I'll bet (of course there won't be a Chinagate investigation - why of course not!! - we all know this!!)

I believe the penalty for treason is death, hence there would be no need for additional prison space. Sooo, let the trials begin!!!!!!

Both parties are corrupt. If they weren't we would have more than two parties in this country. Our system is a single-district first-past-the-post electoral system without runoffs (in general). Thus, coalitions are formed before the election to get maximum benefit. Otherwise, for example, a three-way race could be won by a leftist with 34% of the vote even though a split Right would have 66%.
As a result, it is natural that two weak parties would form in order to maximize ideological coalitions at the ballot box.

Sorry, Harry. Even if they find something, it will be portrayed as naked political advantage. And the chances of finding anything usable are slim. This is the press's job. If they demand action, there will be action.
Otherwise, more Democrats get elected, which emboldens them to do even nastier things.
