IN THE NAME OF ISLAM: WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED SINCE 9-11?
ETHERZONE | 12/17/01 | Robert Moon

There he was for the whole world to see, Osama bin Laden laughing and celebrating at the death of over 3000 innocent people all in the name of Islam and Allah. Between the conversation of Osama bin Laden and the unidentified Shaykh, Allah’s name was invoked approximately 48 times. “Thanks to Allah” and “we praise Allah” being the most common phrases used. The whole tone of the discussion was about how pleased Allah will be that this deed has been performed and how all of these people have been killed in the name of Islam.
If ever there is an opportunity for the leaders of Islam, especially here in the US, to stand up and defend their religion this is it. But so far all we’ve gotten is mostly silence. What other religion would not outright condemn the mass murder of innocent people if these murders were being performed in its name? Can you imagine that if the attack on the World Trade Center was carried out in the name of Catholicism what the Popes reaction would have been? So why haven’t the leaders in the Muslim community and the peaceful majority of Muslims come out publicly and condemned these terrorists acts without having to be prodded by President Bush? In the Sudan over the past 20 years Muslims have murdered over a million black Christians and animists. And according to a column in Front Page Magazine there are currently 40 armed conflicts going on in the world and all but two involve Islam. What at all is to lead us to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion?
Holy Moly!!!

It would be good for all people on this planet to outlaw the Moslem religeon, Islam can be limited to only Islamic counties! A moslem cannot live anywhere else! Hence, we can have peace!

The problem is all the international inteligensia, who are preaching mutual respect. They ended up giving that barbaric religeon equality. They should be demanding reformation of that faith, and insist on outlawing this religeon if it continue preaching hate.

Every day it seems that there are reports of new attacks against innocent people carried out in the name of Islam. And its not just in the US or in Israel where these terrorist attacks are taking place. Just this week a group of armed Muslims attacked the Indian parliament and killed 12 people. Just last month a group of Muslims attacked innocent civilians at a church service in Pakistan and killed several of them just because they were Christians.

There are 63,000 Christians in Indonesia who have been chased from thier homes by peace-loving Islamics. Many have been killed. And the band played on.

Lo and Behold, I heard "Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Ramadan" spoken from the pulpit of my now very unfavorite ELCA church. (I escaped the LCMS because of serious problems; and, my refuge just plain SUCKS.)

Chris Matthews interviewed the head of the Muslim religion in NYC on his program last night. It was like pulling eye teeth to get this guy to acknowledge any even potential bin Laden involvement. The guy was an apologist for his congregation, saying "there are many different views; you can't expect consensus."

I'm not really a Pat Buchanan fan, but he also had some very thoughtful comments last night about the potential for an eventual Muslim takeover of the world. I'm going to read his new book, Death of the West, on this subject.

I escaped the ELCA and joined the LCMS.

What are your problems with LCMS?

Forgive me for sticking my nose into your business, but I would seriously consider leaving that fellowship. Churches are in the business of preaching the Word, and speaking against a culture that does not value God, not attempting to ingratiate themselves into that culture.

The LCMS is actually doctrinally very sound. My problem is related to an incredibly corrupt pastor who continuously breached confidentiality in order to stack election slates with cronies. He would undermine anyone serving in any capacity who disagreed with him in even the most petty matter. The clerical hieracrhy, up to and including Synod headquarters, protected and even rewarded the perp.

Zack, I welcome your comments. I wouldn't post unless I were making this public for good people like yourself.

I fully intend to "make adjustments in fellowship". Thanks for your comments.

"Lo and Behold, I heard "Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Ramadan" spoken from the pulpit of my now very unfavorite ELCA church."

Coming from an LCMS-saturated upbringing, if I ever heard that from ANY pulpit, I'd probably stumble out of the church in horror, gasping for God's mercy on "his children" and this land. Not to mention, the "why bother?" factor. If I needed to hear PC garbage, I'd just click on ABC, SeeBS, NBC, etc, and sleep in Sundays. A non Lutheran alternative would be great as long as they preached the gospel, and glorified Christ. Has the ELCA gotten that bad?

I left an LCMS church about 15 years ago because of a difference in beliefs. I believed I was a Christian that fellowshipped in an LCMS church. They believed they were Lutherans first and Christians second. I tried attending an ELCA church but left when the pastor repeatedly told us that we should be tolerant of homosexuality (not homosexuals, but homosexuality).

The Methodists have preached ecumenicalism and have refuted some of the basics of Christianity. Taking Onward Christian Soldiers out of the hymnals because it was militant was a bit much.

The Episcopal church contains the likes of Bishop Sprong who, publicly, has refuted the Virgin Birth and the bodily Resurrection of Christ.

The Presbyterian Church has decided that individual congregations can decide if they want a homosexual pastor.

My suggestion to you is to find a non-denominational church that adheres to the teachings of the bible, and will allow questions of doctrine without condemnation.

I find it hard to accept the validity of a Christian Church that condones homosexuality when it is the only thing in the Bible that God declares an abomination.

I'll probably get blasted for this stand, but then I've been blasted by "experts" on it.
