Chinese-Made Ammo in al Qaeda Caves Confirms DEBKAfile's October 6 Expose of Chinese Aid to Bin Laden

17 December: DEBKAfile was the first publication to reveal that China had sent thousands of armed men into Afghanistan in support of Osama bin Laden and the Taliban. Our first story came out on October 6, 2001, one day before the US went to war in Afghanistan.

Monday, December 17, Pentagon officials aboard the plane taking US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld to Brussels, revealed that large quantities of Chinese-manufactured ammo were discovered in the Tora Bora cave hideouts of al Qaeda.

They were speaking to CNN's senior defense correspondent James McIntyre, who ran the story with close-up shots of the cache. It was shown to include mortar shells, anti-tank rockets and ammunition for various types of automatic rifles and machine guns of Chinese manufacture, abandoned by fleeing al Qaeda men.

DEBKAfile continued to run with the story through different stages of the Afghanistan War.

Follow-ups, verified by other media, appeared on October 20 and November 15. In the first, we reported 15 Chinese fighters found dead in Kandahar. They were part of an escort convoy for one of bin Laden?s senior lieutenants, Basir al Masri, commander of the Arab contingents in Jalalabad, which came under US bombing as it left Kandahar.

In the second, David Chater of Sky television attested to the presence of Chinese fighting alongside the Taliban and al Qaeda in the battles of Konduz and Khanabad in northern Afghanistan.

Now comes the CNN report, which confirms that Beijing sent to bin Laden, not only men but also quantities of weapons.

John Stanton, in a feature article in the December issue of National Defense Magazine, reports that "DEBKA caused a stir several weeks ago when it published an unconfirmed report that Chinese troops were fighting alongside the Taliban..."

This confirms nothing. There is a lot of Chinese-made ammo in the United States as well. Does that mean that the U.S. supports Bin Laden? No. It means that we have trade with China. There are also a lot of (cheapo) Chinese-made Norinco rifles in the United States. Personally, I wouldn't own one, but a lot of people in the United States do own them. The cheap, mass-produced Chinese rifles shoot the cheap Chinese ammo. That's all there is to it!

You beat me to it. Excellent observation. We have also captured one American Taliban, and killed who knows how many others. According to the "logic" in this article, that "proves" that the United States is on the side of the Taliban.

I have cases of 7.62MM and 5.45MM Barnaul and Tula Cartridge works (TCW) in the barn. Doesn't mean I'm supplied by Chicoms. Have also shot Chicom ammo purchased at gun shows. Bin Laden is a millionaire. He could puchase TONS of this stuff on the open market. Last I bought (7.62) was $75 per case. Delivered by the BBT.

China Becomes the US version of the PLO

The PLA and PLO have much in common. (Why are Americans so easily deceived? It's not that Americans are dogmatic about doctrine -- they detest righteousness.) What will convince you that within a few years, America will be destroyed?

Chinese Fighters Killed in US Strikes against Kahandar

20 October, 2001
DEBKAfile has learned from military sources in Dushanbe and Bishbek, capitals of Tajikistan and the Kyrgizstan respectively, that at least 15 Chinese fighting men on the side of the Taliban, were killed in last week?s US bombing over Kahandar and in a separate incident on the ground. This report as confirmed by Pakistani sources in Peshawar, who discovered the Chinese presence alongside the Taliban from their own intelligence reports on the death of the commander of Arab Afghan troops in Jalalabad, Basir al Masri, who was a senior aide to Osama Bin Laden and the Egyptian Islamic Jihad chief, Ayman al Zuweiri.

Al Masri appears to have been caught by an American bombardment, just as he was leaving Kahandar for Jalalabad after meeting Taliban leaders. They warned him as he left that US Special Force units were operating in the southern and western outskirts of the town. Because they thought the size of his bodyguard insufficient, they offered to a detail of their own men to see him safely past the danger zone. Among that armed escort were five Chinese fighters. A Special Forces unit waylaid the group and detonated explosive charges, one of which hit Abu Basir's vehicle and a second the escort vehicles. Most of the escort was killed, including three of the Chinese guards. The next day, their bodies were carried into Kandahar.

DEBKAfile's sources have no doubt that the Chinese combatants fought in a Taliban unit -- and were not part of Osama bin Laden's Al Qaeda or its associated Egyptian Jihad forces in Afghanistan....

The Moslem population in China is the second largest in the world. It is exceeded only by the Moslem population of Indonesia.

The muslim population in America is rapidly rising and will make them the dominant political body within 20 years. Do the irreligious scoffers expect to survive that change? Perhaps they will change when they see their struggling grandchildren, but what use will they be to them then?

There are about 5 million Muslims in the US, or about one fifty-fifth (1/55) of the population.

based on scientific, rigorous mathematic analysis of possible demographic changes, we come to the conclusion that....you're an idiot.

Flash: 1951 Chinese arms and helps N. Korea against US Military. 1964 China and Russia provide aid to N. Viet Nam against US Military. French sell arms to N. Viet Nam. 1979 USA Provides arms and military aid to Afghanistan freedom fighters.

Get real folks this happens during every military engagement, with the exception of the Gulf War, except China and Russia had previously sold scud missiles, tanks etc to Iraq. This is not news, nor is it even significant.

The rise in the Muslim faith is typical of the current new age fad. A few years ago it was Zen Buddhism. Then Hinduism. After that it was Wicca. Now Islam is in vogue with the pop culture fad types. Ultimately, it will not surpass the Christian faith in the United States. Your wasting your time worrying about nothing.
