Editorial: Unsolicited Advice To A Jihadi

As is now usual on the TV, we had a fighter saying it was the duty of every Muslim to fight Jews and Christians. Being neither a Jew, a Muslim, or a Christian, your editor has a word of advice for such men. If your duty is to kill Christians, then the Christians will make it their duty to kill you. In the business of killing, you will find the Christians more ruthlessly efficient, and more without pity, then you and your friends will ever be. Since you have managed to kill one Christian - if Mr. Mike Spann was such - and suffered somewhere upward of 20,000 killed on your side, might it be possible that killing Christians is a losing proposition?

Well, yes, you did manage 3,000+ in New York. That was because your side got in a surprise blow. The Christians did not know they were at war with you. In case, however, you have not noticed, the US is just starting to sit down to a feast of death - your death. US officials are getting the word out this war may well last a generation - that's 30 to 50 years of killing you. They say this without any fear; indeed, they say it with relish. They are looking forward to this war.

By the way, you have had a small taste of the Christians' technology. Now let me explain that what you saw, for all that it bedazzled the world - an army of 60,000 plus defeated with the loss of one man - you haven't seen anything yet. If you get the chance while you are doing hard time in your prison cell, take the opportunity to study the forthcoming weapons based on nanotechnology. You may yet be persuaded to change your mind about where your religious duty lies.

But perhaps you wont change your mind because you cannot admit to a simple reality. You came to Afghanistan because you could not fight the oppressor in your own land. He is too powerful for you, and has killed or jailed too many of your fellows. Your real problem is not with the Jews or the Americans, but with your own government that has oppressed you and kept you poor. Not that you will get a second chance, but if you were to, you might try a different approach.

Say to the Americans: you are the champions of democracy and the enemy of dictators. Dictators rule my country. Do not support them just because you need oil. Help my people to overthrow the dictators. Help us to have a democracy. You are not my enemy and I am not your enemy. We have a common enemy, starting with the sheikhs and emirs of the oil states, and going on to the Presidents for Life in Iraq, Syria, Libya, and the elites in Algeria and Egypt. They are my enemy because they oppress my people. They are your enemy because they are against democracy.

Let us fight, you and I, but on the same side, against our common enemy.

You might be very surprised at the response you get.

Nah.... let's just rid the world of the Islamic Extremist infection once and for all... THEN, maybe, we can all sit down and discuss the overthrow of dicatators... maybe...

And absolute no concept of Islam. Try this, Islam and a representative system are not compatible. Besides, what a crazy concept but with the help of the 'Christians' of America, Islam has made it a duty to slaughter Christians in Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Indonesia, Russia, Bosnia, Serbia and Makedonia...not to mention Hindus in India. But why pull out those little details on a good puff piece?

I don't know about how the human life cycle works in his part of the world, but where I live, a generation is more like 20 years. And the "feast of death" part is a bit over the top. But he is right about one thing: Our culture will not tolerate murderous attacks and we have developed our military to a level they have barely tasted.

We really don't need too many Islamic allies. We will realize this by the time we get done with Afghanistan. As the Brylcreme commercial says: "A little dab will do you".

It is probably true that our "friends" in the region are tyrants... and this makes us look like hypocrites to the people.
