Feinstein to Propose New National Gun Law Legislation
12/20/01
California Democrat and longtime anti-gun advocate U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein announced today she plans to introduce legislation that would bring the nation in line with her home state's stringent laws regarding gun sales and background checks. Feinstein said she will introduce legislation early next year that would require background checks for all gun sales, whether they occur at a licensed dealer, flea market, gun show or between private individuals. The federal law would mirror current California law, which requires all gun purchases and transfers, including those between private parties and at gun shows, be made through a licensed dealer, according to California Attorney General Bill Lockyer's office.
Feinstein made her announcement today on Capitol Hill in conjunction with the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence's release of new report outlining the connection between terrorism and the firearm availability in the United States.
"I intend to hold a hearing in the Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Government Information early next year on this report which ... shows it is very easy for terrorists to purchase firearms in this nation,'' Feinstein said.
"We already know that children can buy guns all too easily in order to kill other children. We know that gang members and criminals can do the same,'' Feinstein said. "Clearly, the time has come for a universal background check on all gun sales. ...''
Feinstein said she believes U.S. citizens, including members of the National Rifle Association, would support universal background checks.
Translation: She's going to hold a dog and pony show in which only the like minded gun control liars will be allowed to speak, like the Violence Policy Center.
The Right Of The People To Keep And Bear Arms Shall Not Be Infringed !!
An Armed Citizen, Is A Safe Citizen !!
No Guns, No Rights !!
Molon Labe !!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!
(Try enforcing existing laws first you harradin)
Will this be a de facto national concealed carry law? I mean, since we're all checked out and all, we should now be able to leagally carry these weapons concealed everywhere we go - church, schools, airplanes, post offices, banks, and even the senate and house buildings and court houses.
Something tells me that's not what she's looking for though.
How will taking away the ability of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves against the "fruits of liberalism" that Feinstein and her pals have unleashed, do anything to stop fanatics armed with box-cutters from hijacking and crashing planes?
Feinstein and her crowd have been responsible for the loose immigration laws that have made America a haven for the terrorists.
They would rather grab our guns and turn us into a pseudo-dictatorship, then to confront the source of the evil doers.
60,000,000 gun owners should join the NRA -- and stand against this march towards abolishment of the 2nd Amendment.
It is simple, lose the right to own arms and to defend yourself and you lose your rights.
The government is going to prevent me from giving firearms to my children, nieces, nephews and granchildren as gifts?
I DON'T THINK SO!
The connection is that Feinstein wants you to be defenseless before the terrorists.
""We already know that children can buy guns all too easily in order to kill other children. We know that gang members and criminals can do the same,'' Feinstein said. "Clearly, the time has come for a universal background check on all gun sales. ...'' "
Uh, sure, Diane, kiddies can send in 15 Bazooka wrappers and get a dreaded Saturday Night Special sent to them for only $3 S&H. What BS. And I suppose the laws that she proposes will prevent the gangbangers from this easy access? I'm sure they obey all laws on the books now. Nope, this can only be interpreted one way: "Incrementally, we will break down the will of the people and confiscate all of the guns."
I don't understand how these bastiches' actions could be interpreted any other way.
