There are two new books out documenting the infuriating bias of the press. The first, "Bias" by CBS veteran Bernard Goldberg, is flying off the shelves. The second, "Coloring the News" by William McGowan, is equally deserving of best-seller status. Both books nail it precisely

Mr. Goldberg also documents the factually false, but politically correct, picture the media painted of the AIDS threat to non-drug-abusing heterosexuals. The threat is minimal, but the press, obedient to the wishes of the AIDS lobby, said otherwise.

The false AIDS reporting was also abetted by those right-wing groups who favor the sanctioning of sex only within marriage.

The cancer of liberalism has been growing virtually unchecked for 40 years, can meer words halt an reverse the spread? Actions are required, public shunning of liberal activities and people, lampooning of liberal philosophy in the media and entertainment venues, reversal of the legislation which violate the constitution, destruction of the governmental unions, and the most important of all ripping the control of the educational system out of the hands of the NEA and the government.

Examples, please.

Each link below provides access to an article provided by what I would consider a pro-family organization. Many links may seem innocuous, but none refute the claim that AIDS is an equal opportunity killer, that we are all susciptable to this pandemic disease that will soon snuff out hundreds of millions of lies. They are using the threat of AIDS, if only by implication, to further their agenda (please note, I'm not saying their goals are wrong, but I am saying their illigitimate use of a fake threat is wrong). They do nothing to dispell the myth of white, middle-class, heterosexuals becoming infected with AIDS in any but the most remote possibility.

Your links were all to NewsMax and World Net Daily.  Are those what you call pro-family organizations?  Or, are you referring to organizations mentioned in the articles linked to?

In general, I'm referring to the organization refrred to in the article, not the hosting site, although Newsmax and World Net Daily seem pro-family to me. Understand, I too, am very pro-family. It's is just that I don't believe ends justify means, in general. I don't think it is a good idea to disseminate verifiablly wrong information to support one's goals because it undermines the credibility of the asserter and give opponents of the goals ammunition.

The first link cites the Vatican; yes, I consider them "pro-family."

James Hanigan, professor of moral theology at Duquesne University , said that Vatican article was in line with accepted teaching on the birth control pill, which is permitted to correct severe menstrual irregularities, even though it also prevents conception. "The direct effect is to prevent the transmission of disease, even though there is a double effect," he said.

The "double effect" referenced obviously means the prevention of pregnancy, which would not be a concern of high-risk homosexuals. Average middle class heterosexuals have no reason to fear transmission of AIDS, but this Vatican story leads them to believe they should and the Vatican concurs with that fear.

This is the sort of nourishment the pro-family organizations have been feeding into the AIDS panic and dis-information campaign from the beginning. Their benefit is to scare folks into keeping their pants/panties on until marriage. There are good reasons, pro-family reasons for that position. But piling onto a pack of lies is wrong. If you advance your cause because people are fooled, what have you gained?
