[history]
The three masked robbers rushed the cash register at ODB Liquors Thursday night with guns and knives drawn. Police said they demanded cash and threatened death as they fired a single bullet into one clerk's arm and cut the hand of another clerk with a knife.

I noticed the names of the clerks. Some self-sufficient Asians.

"...All the way around, we're looking at an aberration here."Yes, its to rare that people actually stand up for themselves. We should encourage more aberrations like this.
It should be made real simple, you draw a gun on a store clerk, be prepared to face one ( or two or six) yourself.

The third clerk, who pulled out the gun, was identified as Kenneth Hoang, 31. He was uninjured. Having a gun doesn't make you bulletproof, but it beats having nothing at all.

Darill A. Burton, 23, Donny Paul Burton, 17I'll bet Donny has another brother named Darill. These guys were real geniuses, trying to rob a liquor store a short walk from where they live. Sterilize them before they pollute the gene pool some more.

Fascistchusetts (Taxachusetts as well) is one of the most leftist, anti-gun states in the nation. Check out the liberal hand-wringing below:
It was a rare act of urban defiance and won muted praise yesterday.
"I'm glad that it worked out in this particular case," said Larry Mayes, who runs an alternative school for teenagers involved with the courts. "But in the future we may be looking at a tragedy. All the way around, we're looking at an aberration here."
The state (in which my father was born, and the site of the skirmish at Lexington) is rife with timid, disarmed, freedom-hating slaves...

The three masked robbers rushed the cash register at ODB Liquors Thursday night with guns and knives drawn. Wait, I don't understand. Aren't liquor stores "gun free zones" under state law? I thought that law would have kept the clerks safe?

Quick note to editors of the Globe:
Regarding the article in today's (12/29)on-line paper "Suspects fire first, but clerk's shots drive them off, win praise" it's great to see that we have some apparent newcomers to this country who are willing to protect themselves rather than accept victim status.
However, it seems that your bias is showing in the carefully selected quote by one Larry Mayes:
"I'm glad that it worked out in this particular case," said Larry Mayes, who runs an alternative school for teenagers involved with the courts. "But in the future we may be looking at a tragedy. All the way around, we're looking at an aberration here."
How did Mayes get into the story other than it seems you found someone who would echo the Globe's views?
Law abiding people use guns every day to defend themselves and, for the most part, these stories never make the news because the attack was thwarted just by the appearance of the weapon. Most criminals don't want to get hurt or killed - they run. End of story.
Mass pols should wake up and realize that, to cite a familiar phrase, an armed society is a polite society.

I can't believe that Mass. has not figured a way to put Hoang in jail yet; part of the liberal "Learn to Be a Victim" program. Give them time. Mass. can not let an act of firearms self-defense go unpunished. They will not let the precedent stand.

How did Mayes get into the story other than it seems you found someone who would echo the Globe's views? As I'm sure you are well aware of, the Globe sucks. That's why I stick to the Herald.

''I'm glad that it worked out in this particular case,'' said Larry Mayes, who runs an alternative school for teenagers involved with the courts. ''But in the future we may be looking at a tragedy. All the way around, we're looking at an aberration here.'' This strategy works out in a lot of particular cases oh wise one.

Apparently,Mr. Mayes doesn't understand the implicit right to Self-Defense!Mr. Hoang acted quite properly and displayed a great deal of cool resolve while under fire from this human-debris!!My only problem with Mr.Hoang is that his marksmanship could use a bit of honing. If he is short of ammunition(for practice),I would be very happy to provide him with however much that he requires!!!

to cite a familiar phrase, an armed society is a polite societyRobert A. Heinlein bump!

The only down side to this story is that all three "suspects" are in stable condition.

"All the way around, we're looking at an aberration here." Sad commentary, indeed.

Mass. can not let an act of firearms self-defense go unpunished. His weapon will become part of the evidence. It will disappear after the trial. It will force him to try to obtain a new weapon legally. They will make his attempt such a miserable experience that he will give up and own one "illegally".

Good Lord, it is the Vietnamese who stood up for themselves. Americans in that same situation probably wouldn't have done it.
