Christians shouldn't oppose a One World Government

I see all the Christians here who are vehemently opposed to a One World Government (aka New World Order). I have one question:
Why?? If you believe that Bible prophecy is true, then the One World Government is INEVITABLE.
Why on earth would a Christian fight against what the Bible says will happen? It seems horribly contradictory to me.
All insights and opinions are welcome! But it seems to me that Christians should encourage a One World Government so as to see Biblical prophecy come to pass. Why fight it if the Bible's prophecy is true?

You're right. Unfortunately some Christians believe in Reconstructionism and Dominion Theology.

I believe the one world government will go hand in hand with a one world religion, which will lead to the reign of the anti-christ. As a Christian I am opposed to this one world government and one world religion, because I know that it will be anti-Christian and will work to remove any Christians who stand in their way. Would you support anything that was anti-you?

Death is also inevitable. The Bible says so. Yet we defend life and celebrate every breath we take.
How horribly contradictory. Where are our heads?

Why fight it? Because it is evil.
Even if is inevitable, it is the work of Satan and therefore should be thwarted at every opportunity.

I'm not sure how to reply to your question. An analogy might be to ancient Israel. God's prophecy had foretold that the Israelites would turn to false gods. Did that mean a righteous Israelite should not have fought against the the sacrifice of children to these gods?
The Bible also foretold that Jesus would die for humankind. Did that make Judas, the instrument of his betrayal, a servant of God?

This is utter nonsense.
Perhaps you Dispensationalists should actually prove that one world govt. with the EU is going to lead to the end of the world before saying crap like this....but, of course you can't.
To: Exnihilo; sheltonmac
Please give me the chapter and verse where the Bible states that a "one world" government is inevitable. You crazy dispensationalists are at it again. Can't you see that your view of prophecy is anti-Christ?

I guess, I'd like to know what your belief is? I mean, do you know what happens during the time of revelations? Are you willing to endure what is supposed to happen? Even if it's all bunk, are you willing to be subservient to a government that would treat you as a slave?
If you live in the United States, You'd be able to understand that the welfare system is nothing more than the redistribution of wealth. Now, with that said, imagine taking on Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Congo, South Africa, China, Tibet, Russia, South and Central America as welfare recipients. Imagine how high your taxes would be then! Not to mention the fact that they'll make you get some form of ID chip implanted, purely out of being able to catalog you, and monitor you.
I think that if you were actually living in a One World Govenrment, you'd probably realize that it's a very big mistake to let happen. Especially when you consider the agenda at hand. It's not going to be about democracy, or a Republic government. It will be totalitarianism. Total slavery. Each according to his or her needs. One World government is a lie, and would be the death of all cultures.

The Bible tells you that your fight is already lost! The One World Government will come to pass, no matter what you do. Why fight it?

Letting it happen isn't the issue. The Bible says IT WILL HAPPEN. Fighting it is a lost cause. Why bother?

The nature of prophecy is that what it says WILL HAPPEN. Prophecy that doesn't come to pass isn't prophecy. Therefore, the Bible says it WILL HAPPEN. Why fight it?

Since Christ had to be betrayed anyway, would you have been the one to do it in order to hasten prophecy? Hint: Nobody really likes Judas very much.
To: Exnihilo
I'm not fighting it, I just don't support those who are helping it come to pass. Just because something will happen doesn't mean I have to help it out.

encourage a One World Government so as to see Biblical prophecy come to pass If this is Biblical prophecy there is nothing that can be done to encourage or discourage its fulfillment. Show me the way to the One World Managed-Care Resthome, would you?
To: Exnihilo
If one fully applies your logic then all Christians should work to build a one-world government, should we? Or, since it was God's plan, Judas was a hero?
To: Exnihilo
Even if you are right, you can't tell me that Christians are still support something that supports evil? Although in the overall scheme of things, it would be good since God ordained it to bring about the end of the world, it would still be wrong on the level that we actually look at as humans. It would be evil in that Satan would be exalted in the antichrist. Now, you can't tell me we are supposed to sit back and not fight against the devil and antichrist in the world. And this is only if you are right...which I allowed to be possible for my argument here.....you won't be right in the end.
