Isaiah 61
1
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2
to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3
and provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for this day and for all of Your abundant blessings towards me and my family and my nation. I thank You that last night's festivities went off without a terrorist incident, and I pray for the continued safety of Americans and others around the world from the deadly hand of terrorists.

I pray for this year, Lord, asking that You would be with us during this year and that 2002 would bring many positive changes in the American people. I pray for victory over our enemies and victory over the ultimate enemy, Satan himself. I pray for revival in this land and spiritual awakening amongst our people. I pray that this year will mark a return to biblical values and that the blindness of many will be overcome by the shed blood of Jesus.

Lord, I lift up President Bush to You, asking that You would continue to work in his life this year, drawing him closer to You and fashioning him into the person You desire him to be. Lord, protect him, from all sorts of harm - physical, spiritual, and political (that is from the bad advise of others in policy matters, that would not only harm him but this nation and Israel as well). Lord, draw his family closer to You and may You glorify Yourself in the Bush family and in the U.S.A.

I pray for Israel, and for the peace of Jerusalem. May terrorism not have its way in her land and may America always remain her true friend.

Go with us, Lord, the rest of this day and into tomorrow, until we meet here again to pray. For it is in the precious and holy and magnificent name of Jesus my Lord, and perhaps this year, our coming King, that I pray, Amen.

Mighty God, Everlasting Father,

As we enter this new year of our Lord, we ask that You would come to us and abide with us, our Lord, Emmanuel. Unto You, O Lord, do we lift up our souls; our God, we trust in You. Let us trust in You to be with us throughout 2002. Let us rejoice in the confidence that comes from knowing that You will not leave us nor forsake us. Let us look upward in faith knowing that You will see us through all the days that lie ahead. Father, we ask that You would receive the prayers of Your people who call upon You, and grant that we may both perceive and know what things we ought to do throughout the coming year. Give us the grace and power faithfully to do Your will. Father, You govern all things in heaven and earth; mercifully hear the supplications of Your people. Grant us Your peace all the days of our lives.

May Your peace be with President Bush this day, Father. Please show him Your favor and blessings during the new year. Help him always to seek Your wise counsel and to be obedient to Your Word and Your truths. Give him the strength and the will to do what is right in Your sight, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Place in him the ability to handle his enemies the way You would handle them. Give him the protection of Your mighty armies so that his steps will be protected no matter where he walks. We rejoice that he seeks You, Father. We are grateful that You have given him a thirst for You that is satisfied through prayer and the study of Your Word. We rejoice that he and his Laura are reading the Bible each day and are praying to You. Thank You, Father, again and again for the change in leadership in America.

Father, may You bless each of Your prayer warriors who faithfully visit this thread. May Your peace reign in our households, and may each of us experience the enlargement of our territory this year. Let Your hand rest upon us, Father, and help each of us to be instruments of Your peace as we go about our daily lives. Please send new pray-ers to this site and let the prayers of this nation arise as a sweet smelling incense before You. We rejoice that our Redeemer lives. We praise Your mighty name for You are the King of heaven and earth. And we thank You that Your wonderful answers to our prayers will surely come to us. In the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

As we sang in church this morning:

For all the blessings of the year,
For all the friends we hold so dear,
For peace on earth, both far and near,
We give you thanks, O Lord.

For life and health, those common things,
Which every day and hour brings,
For home, where our affection clings,
We give you thanks, O Lord.

For your great love, which never tires,
Which all our better thought inspires,
And warms our lives with heavenly fires,
We give you thanks, O Lord.

We thank you, Father, for your continued blessings on us, our President, our nation, and our world.

I am still having some computer problems.

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory,
Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth (Psalm 115:1).

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night (Psalm 92:1-2).

Praying with you on this first day of a new year for God's blessings, guidance, protection, inspiration for our President. Praying that God will bind us here together and bless us as we pray for our President.

Dear Father in heaven, oh how I thank you for the many blessings in my life, for this beautiful day and for this New Year. Father I pray for President Bush, for his safety and for the safety of his family. I pray that you will give him such a strong desire to seek you above all else. Lord I pray for this nation that you would have mercy on us and send revival here. May countless others come before you on bended knee and serve the one true God. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen

Heavenly Father, I come before You tonite in awe of Your great goodness to us this past year. It has been a year of trials and hardship, but with great blessing also, indeed you have given us a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. I praise You for Your care of each of us here, and worship You with my whole heart, for Your Power and Glory displayed in so many ways.

Father, I thank You for President Bush, John Ashcroft, our wonderful military men and women, our law enforcement, and most of all for YOU ...thank You for watching over our nation.

Lord, be with us this year reviving Your church to serve as never before...giving us Your Holy Spirit to ignite this land of America to once again be a lite to the world bringing Your Gospel to those without hope. Please give us godly men to stand up for Your Truth all over this nation. Do a work in Your church to remove the dross, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Father, as we begin this new year, we are thankful that we can have confidence that no matter what happens that You are in control. None of us anticipated at the beginning of 2001 the life changing things that would occur, but we know that in Your Sovereignty and love, that You have worked through tragedy and despair to bring glory unto Yourself. There are changes that have occurred in this nation, and around the world bringing about a new sensitivity to spiritual things. People are listening more intently to Your still small voice, and we know that there is indeed an 'angel in the whirlwind directing the storm.'

Father, how we thank You for President Bush; for his personal moral leadership, for his strength and resolve to do what is right regardless of what is popular, for his love for his wife and family, for his desire to follow Your leading, and to stay in Your word. Bless him mightily during this coming year, O Lord! Keep him humble before You. Give him wisdom and discernment beyond human understanding.

Bless this nation, and bring it back to Your laws and to You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for the gift of another year! It has been awesome and amazing to watch your hand at work during 2001, even when the days were their darkest. Thank you for the blessing of fellowship and relationships with other belivers, that we may encourage and build each other up in both good times and bad.

I recommit myself to you in the coming year, and pray that each Christian will take time today to seek your will not only for our nation, but also for each of us personally. Convict our hearts of any areas that prevent us from experiencing your presence. Guide us in your will for our lives, and give us the boldness to follow where you lead.

I pray especially for President Bush and his administration. You have done mighty things through them, and I pray you will keep their hearts and minds pure as they seek your guidance in the war against the enemy. Remove from thier company any who would lead them astray, and surround them always with wise counsel. Let them know the right decision to make in every situation, and surround them always, along with their families, with your mighty hedge of protection.

I pray, too, for your protection over America and our allies. Let the plans and motives of our enemies be exposed and thwarted. Granted them not success, and as we lean on you for help, please protect us from all violence and plans for destruction.

I pray for the elections that will take place this year, let your chosen be raised up to leadership positions in all levels of public service. I pray that resources will dry up for those who fight against your will, and that your chosen will have more than enough to accomplish your will. Grant favor to those who follow you, and build walls of frustration and failure around those who don't.

Finally, Father, I pray for your church. I pray that you will pour out your annointing upon each and every member, that throught the strength of your army, there will be a revival across this nation like has never been seen before.

Most of all, dearest Lord, I pray that your will be done. I seek your guidance and peace. My faith and trust are in your most capable hands. In the precious name of Jesus I pray, Amen
