Yes we will be shunned and scorned for bringing up these important problems with Vatican II documents. But, all the prophets were shunned and killed for criticizing the leaders of the people of God, the Israelites. We are so blessed to be traditional Catholics and to know there was a Catholic Church and many councils before 1963.

The relationship between drug trafficking and terrorism has long existed, and can take many forms depending on the goals and needs of each party. Sometimes hybrid criminal-terrorist organizations form in which terrorist groups become involved in the drug trade to fund operations, purchase equipment, and pay foot soldiers. In return, they provide safe passageways for the drugs and give traffickers tips for circumventing customs and security forces. Other times a localized criminal organization or terrorist group lacks expertise, so increased contacts and business with major drug cartels helps advance the sophistication of their operation. Ultimately, though, both have logistical needs...

Nashville mayor Karl Dean went one step further in his support for same-sex marriage Thursday. He has officially joined the group Mayors for the Freedom to Marry — the first mayor in Tennessee to do so. Dean signed a marriage equality statement that says allowing same-sex couples to marry is good for everyone. In a press release, Dean said he wants Nashville to respect “individual dignity.” “Embracing and celebrating our growing diversity makes our city stronger,” he wrote. “Nashville needs to continue in that direction, and it’s my hope that joining this effort will help us do that.”

Lots of folks are wondering (hoping?) Hillary Clinton will run for president in 2016. Frankly, I don’t believe she will, as her missteps continue to get worse – oh, have you heard about her diva-ish speaking contract riders? But don’t worry too much about Hillary, because if does ditch the presidential race, she has a great future in the construction industry — and in particular cement. According to Algemeiner, “Much has been said and written about the terror tunnels that Hamas built in Gaza. But too little has been said about who it was that put the cement into Hamas’...

Thousands of drivers in New Jersey were caught on camera allegedly running red lights but were never informed of the potential fines they faced because of a technical glitch. And the state Judiciary has asked local courts to throw out all 17,000 alleged infractions. The state lawmaker who today brought the issue to the public’s attention — Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon —said it's is just the latest example of why New Jersey’s red light camera should not be renewed when it reaches its December expiration date. ... The news of the glitch comes just days after the former CEO of Redflex...

SEATTLE — A man accused of shooting to death two men in Seattle on June 1 and a man in New Jersey later that month was charged Wednesday with gunning down a 30-year-old in the Skyway area in April — all, he allegedly told police, as “vengeance” for U.S. actions in the Mideast. Ali Muhammad Brown, 40, is quoted in charging documents as saying that he they were “just kills” and that he was “just doing my small part” as a self-styled jihadist. Brooke Baldwin played an exasperated host to CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill and radio host Larry Elder, whose discussion over Barack Obama’s actions on the Ferguson protests quickly, quickly fell apart into them yelling past each other for the entire segment. It started off as two men taking two very different positions on the root causes of Ferguson: Hill argued that the debate should be centered on institutionalized racism in law enforcement, while Elder countered that the problem lay within the black community and the lack of paternal figures.

We all know the slogans meant to express empathy and solidarity: "We are Columbine." "We are all New Yorkers." "I am Trayvon Martin." The "We are Ferguson" messages have already begun, and we will likely see more. The well-intended connections seldom work. Most of us are not Columbine because most of us did not lose children in our community in a high school mass shooting. We are not all New Yorkers because only some of us experienced the aftermath of 9/11 at Ground Zero. I am not Trayvon Martin because I am not a black male. Are we Ferguson? That's...

The problem arises because, due to limited resources, running applications must share some memory with other running applications so that they can all operate efficiently. Truly sensitive data is compartmentalized, but mundane tasks are often carried out in shared memory — and there's no task more mundane than running the nuts and bolts of the device's graphical user interface (GUI). However, each change an app makes to the GUI requires a specific amount of memory, an amount that often directly and instantly affects the total amount of shared memory used on a given device. The hiatus in the rise in global temperatures could last for another 10 years, according to new research. Scientists have struggled to explain the so-called pause that began in 1999, despite ever increasing levels of CO2 in the atmosphere. The latest theory says that a naturally occurring 30-year cycle in the Atlantic Ocean is behind the slowdown. The researchers says this slow-moving current could continue to divert heat into the deep seas for another decade. However, they caution that global temperatures are likely to increase rapidly when the cycle flips to a warmer phase. Continue reading the main story “...

Must-know: Tighter-than-expected oil supply in the future By Russ Koesterich, CFA - Disclosure • BlackRock  • Aug 21, 2014 10:08 am EDT First, here’s a quick look at my expectations for oil supply and demand.
