  • Suspicious Activity on the Rail Trail

    04/07/2012 1:58:19 PM PDT · by SamAdams76 · 26 replies
So in my neighborhood, there is some kind of “controversy” involving school buses. Apparently the town needs additional tax revenue from homeowners (by way of property tax) to keep them going for the next year and now a referendum vote is on the ballot for the next town election. A “YES” vote would increase property taxes to keep the school bus program at status quo. A “NO” vote would keep taxes the same but cut the number of school buses for the coming school year and would force kids that live within a mile of their school to walk to...

(CBS/AP) TULSA, Okla. - A spree of early-morning shootings within a one-mile span of north Tulsa in which three people were killed and two critically wounded has lead police to suspect the same attacker or attackers are behind them. All five of the victims were shot within an hour, and within a 1-mile radius of each other, police sources tell CBS News, and all five victims were out walking when they were shot. Police are speculating that the shootings were racially motivated because all of the victims are black; it is not believed the victims knew one another. Police won't...
  • Neo-Nazis Patrol Where Trayvon Martin Killed

    04/07/2012 1:24:26 PM PDT · by 2ndDivisionVet · 63 replies
A heavily armed troop of neo-Nazis are goose-stepping around the Florida town where Trayvon Martin was killed. Members of the Detroit-based National Socialist Movement are patrolling Sanford, proclaiming they are prepared for violence in case of a race riot, its commander Jeff Schoep told the Miami New Times. "We are not the type of white people who are going to be walked all over," he said. "Whenever there is one of these racially charged events, Al Sharpton goes wherever blacks need him. We do similar things," he added. "We are a white civil rights organization." He said the patrols will...
  • Warren Hatch: Housing Market Recovery Could Happen Faster Than Anyone Expects

    Confounded Interest ^ | 04/07/2012 | Anthony B. Sanders
There was an interesting post by Warren Hatch (chief investment strategist at Catalpa Capital Advisor) entitled “Why The Housing Recovery Could Happen Faster Than Anyone Expects.” He argues that the U.S. housing market is “shovel ready.” Where have I heard that before? Oh, now I remember. President Obama touted “shovel ready” projects in his pleading for the $800 million stimulus package. The basis of his argument is that the NAHB/Wells Fargo homebuilder confidence index is rising. And he argues that this index has a strong correlation with housing starts of 0.7. Here is his chart: Is this a compelling argument?...
  • Did the ND GOP railroad state delegates to give Romney the most delegates?

    The Right Scoop ^ | 7 April 2012
From everything I’ve read and the video below, it sure sounds like it. Basically, around 1700 state convention delegates showed up to vote for 25 out of around 100 delegates to represent the state as delegates at the national convention. However, instead of getting a ballot with all 100 delegates listed out for selection, the voters got a ballot with 25 suggested delegates, most of whom have voiced their support for Mitt Romney. The ballot also had 25 blank lines in the second column, but the names of the delegates they were to choose from were projected on a screen...
  • Following the Truth: Follow Me… [into Holy Week]

Follow Me… Apr 1st, 2012by Gary Zimak.  As Jesus passed on from there,He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him. (Matthew 9:9)As we head into the final 2 weeks our Spiritual Exercises retreat, I just wanted to reach out and share a few thoughts. Today, with the celebration of Palm Sunday, we enter into the holiest week of the year. Over the next five days, on my nightly radio show, we’ll meditate on Our Lord’s Passion and death. As we do this, we’ll recognize...
  • Nasty Joy Behar Mocks Sarah Palin

A nasty Joy Behar on Wednesday appeared on MSNBC's Last Word to attack conservative women such as Sarah Palin and Nikki Haley. Talking to the ultra-liberal Lawrence O'Donnell, Behar mocked, "Shouldn't [Palin] be turning letters somewhere on some game show at this point? Why is she still involved in the conversation politically?" Palin's sin, according to Behar? Daring to opine on who Mitt Romney should pick as his vice presidential choice. Behar had more insults for the governor of South Carolina, who recently appeared on her ABC show, The View. Regarding Haley's comment that women don't really care about the...
  • Mitt Romney’s Fully Documented Liberal Left-Wing Social and Fiscal Record

This is for everyone to read and understand, of course, but I hope value voters in both Michigan and Arizona read, understand, and share this article. I find it absurd that so many celebrity “conservatives” and “pro-family” and “pro-life” Christians continue to promote Romney as a Reagan Conservative when Romney’s actual record shows that he is an across the board liberal. Barack Obama in a Reagan Costume. Mitt Romney, Fiscal and Social Liberal: • Unilaterally, illegally & unconstitutionally instituted same-sex “marriage” falsely claiming the “court ordered him to.” Proof here and here • Signed the forerunner to Obamacare (Romneycare) into...

  • Bank wants Missouri Rep. Cleaver [D-MO] to pay $1.5 million on car wash loan

U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver's car wash headache is raging once again. The bank that loaned the Kansas City congressman and his wife $1.3 million in 2002 to buy the Grandview Auto Wash at 12204 Blue Ridge Extension is now demanding payment of more than $1.5 million, after the Cleavers repeatedly fell behind on repaying the loan. The suit, filed last week in Jackson County Circuit Court, said the demand for repayment came after three attempts to delay foreclosure. Bank of America also is seeking attorney’s fees and a receiver to protect collateral. “The Cleaver Company failed and refused, and continues...

Howdy everyone!! The first week of our second quarter 2012 Freepathon is nearly complete and we've raised approximately the first eight percent. This is Easter weekend so I'm sure it will be slow, but our Freepathon thread will remain open for business 24/7. One percent per day keeps the 404 away. Happy Easter everyone!! No matter who wins the nomination or the election, we're going to need FR more than ever to hold their feet to the fire. We're hoping for the tea party rebellion of 2010 to continue in November. It's unlikely that we're going to have a conservative...

“The gun.” Those two simple words flowed easily from the mouth of social commentator Bill Cosby during an exclusive interview Friday regarding the Trayvon Martin case, arguably the most high-profile, citizen-on-citizen U.S. slaying facing the Obama administration. Trayvon was killed Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman, who told police that a “confrontation” with the unarmed 17-year-old led him to shoot in self-defense. Mr. Cosby, a Navy veteran, said “the gun” empowered Mr. Zimmerman, whose actions have stirred a firestorm of debate, protests and remarks from President Obama. “We’ve got to get the gun out of the...

Despite the ongoing internal unrest, Syria is continuing to upgrade its military capabilities and recently declared a number of new surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs) operational. Over the past year, Syria has received a number of SA- 17 batteries from Russia under a deal signed several years ago. Two batteries are already reportedly operational and deployed along Syria’s border with Lebanon. A third is undergoing training. As a result, the IDF has modified the way it flies in the North and particularly when conducting missions over Lebanon, where it continues to fly to gather intelligence on Hezbollah activities.

18-year-old told her former boyfriend he was done after he called from jail. Saturday, Apr 7, 2012 The teenage girlfriend of a former Modesto high school teacher, who left his family and job to be with her, has left him. Jordan Powers, 18, left 41-year-old James Hooker after he was arrested this week on charges of oral copulation with a minor at a high school he once taught at. "He called me from jail and I told him we're done," Powers told ABC's Good Morning America. The couple made international headlines after Hooker left his job and family to move...

Relations in the neighborhood were already strained when Michelle Sieber argued with her 69-year-old neighbor just before 7 a.m. Monday about the noise the night before, according to police. Then Sieber's dog got out. The neighbor petted the Great Dane. Sieber warned him not to touch her dog. "What are you going to do ... hit me?" the neighbor asked, according to police. Sieber was arrested early Monday morning for doing exactly that, police said. She punched her 69-year-old neighbor in the left shoulder, according to Tarpon Springs police, and was charged with battery on a person 65 years or...

An "electronic Titanic"--as Howard Rosenberg of the Los Angeles Times called it---"an unprecedented disaster in the annals of network news, and perhaps the biggest TV scam since the Quiz Scandals." To many, NBC's Dateline fiasco seemed a freak, a bizarre departure from accepted network standards. Would any half-awake news organization have helped stage a crash test that was rigged to get a particular outcome? Or concealed from the public key elements--the hidden rockets, the over-filled tank, the loose gas cap? Or entrusted its judgment to axe-grinding "experts" who were deeply involved in litigating against the expose's target? Or, after questions...

A few weeks ago an individual hereinafter referred to as, "the letter writer," circulated a letter urging conservative and evangelical leaders to get behind Mitt Romney’s presidential bid. We, the above listed individuals, have decided to respond with the argument that a Romney candidacy would be disastrous for the conservative movement and for the country. Romney’s Business Management Experience Does Not Guarantee He Will Govern As A Conservative One of the primary arguments presented by the letter writer is that Romney’s business management experience and his allegedly outstanding performance managing the state of Massachusetts thereby qualifies him to not only...
