    The Daily Caller. ^ | May 14, 2012 | Matt K. Lewis
many of Obama’s most liberal and costly political mistakes stemmed from Jarrett’s advice. Jarrett reportedly hatched the idea of Obama flying to Copenhagen to “make a dramatic presentation to the International Olympic Committee” for Chicago’s Olympic bid — and also encouraged Obama’s visit to “the Bay area solar company Solyndra” — despite the protestations of Lawrence Summers (who in 2009 warned against the loan guarantee) and others. Klein implies Jarrett’s pro-Solyndra position was a result of her “Chicago connections” and -- especially her close ties to the George Kaiser Family Foundation, which controlled 35.7 percent of Solyndra. The foundation had...

My previous articles [1] commenced a series on the rapture of the church. We began with the question, "What is the Rapture?" This question can best be answered by noting ten truths about the rapture from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58. In previous articles, we saw that the rapture is an important doctrine and not something that can be marginalized or explained away as a secondary doctrine. We also noted that the rapture is an event that is distinct from the Second Advent of Christ. We further observed that the rapture will involve the catching up of every...

The reason, he says: President Obama “doesn’t have a clue about what he’s doing” and Americans can’t afford four more years of this “disaster.” Gingrich suspended his presidential campaign on May 2 and has endorsed Mitt Romney. The bishops said in a statement Tuesday to Health and Human Services that the prospective new rules don't do enough to protect religious liberty. The mandate requires employers to provide health insurance that includes birth control for workers. The plan sparked protests from faith leaders because it included most religious nonprofits such as hospitals and colleges. President Barack Obama offered a compromise. He said insurers would bear the cost of the birth control instead of religious employers....

Mitt Pulls A 'Weiner' When Bill Clinton wagged his finger at us saying: "I - did - not - have - sex - with - that -woman", we all knew he was lying. When Anthony 'that's-not-my-weiner' said: that's not my weiner, we all knew, that was his weiner. Now when Mitt Romney tells Fox News: “I don’t recall the incident myself, but I’ve seen the reports and I’m not going to argue with that,” we all know he's a lying weiner. M-i-i-i-i-t, look at me, look at me -- you're telling me you don't recall, one way or the other,...

He’s back, people! First, President Obama made the amazing and inspiring move last week to finally support gay marriage. Have you see the latest New Yorker cover? Is this beautiful or what? How could anyone not feel happy looking at this image? The whole idea that gay marriage is “anti-family” or threatens “traditional” marriage is such an inane, warped, self-defeating argument. “Traditional” marriage was, of course, created as a financial contract to control the means of reproduction, that is, women. When women had no social, political, or financial power, when they were not allowed to own property and only valued...

I am going to take a stab at describing how morality might have evolved. I am trying to aim this at atheistis and others so I tried to refrain from using any religious frame of reference. What separates us from the animals? So try not to be offended.

Prime Minister's spokesman says if Palestinian leadership in 1948 did not adopt extreme opposition to Israel, Palestinians would be celebrating independence instead of "Nakba." Rather than demonstrating against Israel, the Palestinians should be directing their anger over "Nakba Day" at the extremist Palestinian leadership which 64 years ago rejected any accommodation, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's spokesman Mark Regev said Tuesday. Palestinians marked Nakba Day (the "Day of Catastrophe" marking the anniversary of the establishment of Israel and the creation of the Palestinian diaspora) on Tuesday with rallies and demonstrations in various locations in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east...

In 2008, the federal government bailed out two major automakers – General Motors and Chrysler, along with their financial groups that offered loans. At the time, it was said that these bailouts needed to happen to prevent a crisis, and that these auto companies would pay back the taxpayers in time. The companies got tens of billions of dollars to keep operating. Disaster averted? No. Chrysler and GM certainly benefited, but the taxpayers are now footing the bill. The Treasury Department has admitted that taxpayers will lose a staggering $14 billion from the bailout. At least, that was what they said...

Massachusetts citizen and community groups are suing the state for allegedly failing to offer recipients of public assistance help in registering to vote. The suit was filed in federal court on Tuesday by the regional office of the NAACP, the group New England United for Justice and Bethzaida Delgado, a Massachusetts woman who said she was repeatedly denied voter registration services. The suit alleges that Secretary of State William Galvin's office and the state Department of Transitional Assistance violated the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 by failing to offer registration opportunities to the poor.
