  • Glenn Beck predicted Petraeus dismissal 2 weeks ago

General David Petraeus resigned amid scandal last week after admitting he had cheated on his wife of 38 years with a woman 20 years his younger. Interesting timing, considering Petraeus was set to testify in the Benghazi investigation and will most likely no longer take part. Why now? And why was the man once hated by the left (‘betray-us’) there in the first place? “This all makes sense if you ‑‑ if you think like a revolutionary. Go back to where General Petraeus was when Barack Obama got into office. Do you remember? There were rumors that he was going...

Congressional leaders took a hard line on taxes ahead of a meeting Friday at the White House, with rank-and-file Republicans expressing opposition to a fiscal cliff deal that would bring in more revenue to the government. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has said Republicans could accept new revenues, but not tax-rate hikes, as part of a broad deficit deal, but President Obama and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said it was unlikely that eliminating loopholes and capping deductions could raise enough revenue to gain their support.

Two teenagers have been charged with setting a Jack Russell terrier puppy on fire last month in Buffalo. Seventeen-year-old Diondre Brown and 19-year-old Adell Zeigler of Buffalo appeared in City Court Wednesday on charges of felony animal cruelty. Zeigler was denied bail because of a prior conviction. The judge set bail for Brown at $20,000. The 16-week-old puppy was found on fire in a yard on Buffalo's east side on Oct. 29. Named Phoenix by his rescuers, the dog is recovering at an animal hospital with burned ears, an ankle infection, and blistered eyelids.

Two public school teachers are facing investigations for posting messages that some perceived as critical of President Obama on social networking sites. In Rock Hill, SC, a middle school teacher was placed on leave after she posted a message on her personal Facebook page about President Obama and food stamps. Congrats Obama, she allegedly wrote. As one of my students sang down the hallway, We get to keep our food stamps which I pay for because they cant budget their money and really, neither can you. Pundits, Politicians, etc are looking all over the map for a solution to the fiscal clift/sequestration problem. But the solution lies in what happened during Obama's first term. Under Bush/Congress the deficit increased 43% during his 8 year term (we had a real war, 9/11, and Katrina). Under Obama/Congress the deficit "doubled" during his 4 year term or "half" the time. Rather then us having to listen to threats to cut Social Security, Defense, or severe increase in Taxes shouldn't we go back to the problem that caused this Sequestration legislation to be passed in the first place? Should the...

It was creeping toward Jensen's own fence 10 feet away, and he started spraying the fire with his hose. Police ordered Jensen to get back, and he complied. Astronomers have discovered a potential "rogue" alien planet wandering alone just 100 light-years from Earth, suggesting that such starless worlds may be extremely common across the galaxy. The free-floating object, called CFBDSIR2149, is likely a gas giant planet four to seven times more massive than Jupiter, scientists say in a new study unveiled Wednesday. The planet cruises unbound through space relatively close to Earth (in astronomical terms), perhaps after being booted from its own solar system. Conclusions Under present federal Supreme Court jurisprudence: The union which is the United States can never be dissolved by an independent action of one state (unless approved by Congress and/or the other states?) An individual state may never secede. Apparently, only people rebel - the states remain a part of the Union. Secession can be successful only if accomplished by force of arms (or agreement of the other states/Congress).

Ryan sought to connect with voters in small- and medium-sized towns across Ohio by repeatedly telling them how much their community had in common with his own hometown of Janesville, Wis. Now, post-election, the Wisconsin congressman is blaming his Republican ticket loss with presidential contender Mitt Romney on a huge turnout of urban voters for President Obama. One flaw in that analysis may be that election results indicate the Romney-Ryan ticket didnt exactly connect with the voters...

Explanation: Could you tell the story of human existence in a minute? This thrilling video culls together multiple teasing snippets in an attempt to do just that. And sets it to music. Briefly depicted, from start to finish, is an artistic animation of the Big Bang, a trip across the early universe, the formation of the Earth and Moon, the emergence of multi-celled life and plants, the rise of reptiles and dinosaurs, a devastating meteor strike, the rise of mammals and humans, and finally the rise of modern civilization. The minute movie ends with a flyover of the modern skyscraper...
  • Now Chris Matthews Thinks The Word 'Urban' Is Racist

The list of words MSNBC's Chris Matthews believes are racist if uttered by a conservative got longer on Wednesday. You can now add "urban" which offended Matthews when Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) said it during an interview Monday, but didn't bother the Hardball host in the slightest when Salon's Joan Walsh said it on his own program two days later (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary): "There's more of this dog whistle crap going on," said Matthews before he introduced guests Walsh and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Cynthia Tucker. Really? So if a conservative talks about urban, suburban, and ex-urban...

The former vice-president and climate champion, Al Gore, has called on Barack Obama to seize the moment and use his re-election victory to push through bold action on climate change. The president has faced rising public pressure in the wake of superstorm Sandy to deliver on his promise to act on global warming. But none of those calling on Obama to act carries the moral authority of Gore, who has devoted his post-political career to building a climate movement. Now, Gore said, it is the president's turn. He urged Obama to immediately begin pushing for a carbon tax in negotiations...

Marc Faber Warns Global Stock Markets Will Implode Stock-Markets / Financial CrashNov 14, 2012 - 04:09 AM In this "Squawk Box" excerpt, Marc Faber warns investors to prepare for an eventual "'reset" of the global financial system: The market is going down because corporate profits will begin to disappoint, the global economy will hardly grow next year or even contract, and that is the reason why stocks, from the highs of September of 1,470 on the S&P, will drop at least 20 percent, in my view. There will be pain and there will be very substantial pain. The question is...
