  • Glenn Beck predicted Petraeus dismissal 2 weeks ago

General David Petraeus resigned amid scandal last week after admitting he had cheated on his wife of 38 years with a woman 20 years his younger. Interesting timing, considering Petraeus was set to testify in the Benghazi investigation and will most likely no longer take part. Why now? And why was the man once hated by the left (‘betray-us’) there in the first place? “This all makes sense if you ‑‑ if you think like a revolutionary. Go back to where General Petraeus was when Barack Obama got into office. Do you remember? There were rumors that he was going...

Congressional leaders took a hard line on taxes ahead of a meeting Friday at the White House, with rank-and-file Republicans expressing opposition to a fiscal cliff deal that would bring in more revenue to the government. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has said Republicans could accept new revenues, but not tax-rate hikes, as part of a broad deficit deal, but President Obama and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said it was unlikely that eliminating loopholes and capping deductions could raise enough revenue to gain their support.

Two teenagers have been charged with setting a Jack Russell terrier puppy on fire last month in Buffalo. Seventeen-year-old Diondre Brown and 19-year-old Adell Zeigler of Buffalo appeared in City Court Wednesday on charges of felony animal cruelty. Zeigler was denied bail because of a prior conviction. The judge set bail for Brown at $20,000. The 16-week-old puppy was found on fire in a yard on Buffalo's east side on Oct. 29. Named Phoenix by his rescuers, the dog is recovering at an animal hospital with burned ears, an ankle infection, and blistered eyelids.

Embassy of Israel ✔ @IsraelinUSA @ScottPelley @CBSEveningNews today's show ignored the 150+ rockets fired at Israel this week. No other state would accept a similar reality. 14 Nov 12 Reply Retweet Favorite Conservatives aren’t shy about calling out American news networks for overlooking stories that doesn’t fit the liberal narrative, but the Embassy of Israel took to Twitter today to call out Scott Pelley and the CBS Evening News for not reporting on the rocket attacks on Israel this week. CBS’s Mark Knoller notes that the rare occasion of a presidential news conference dominated the news cycle today.

Two public school teachers are facing investigations for posting messages that some perceived as critical of President Obama on social networking sites. In Rock Hill, SC, a middle school teacher was placed on leave after she posted a message on her personal Facebook page about President Obama and food stamps. Congrats Obama, she allegedly wrote. As one of my students sang down the hallway, We get to keep our food stamps which I pay for because they cant budget their money and really, neither can you. A school spokesperson said they had received several calls complaining about the...
  • Solution to Fiscal Clift: Look No Furhter than Obama's First Term

Pundits, Politicians, etc are looking all over the map for a solution to the fiscal clift/sequestration problem. But the solution lies in what happened during Obama's first term. Under Bush/Congress the deficit increased 43% during his 8 year term (we had a real war, 9/11, and Katrina). Under Obama/Congress the deficit "doubled" during his 4 year term or "half" the time. Rather then us having to listen to threats to cut Social Security, Defense, or severe increase in Taxes shouldn't we go back to the problem that caused this Sequestration legislation to be passed in the first place? Should the...

A dog shot and killed by a cop could have been a threat to bite officers. That's the opinion of the Omaha police union president. Our Sister Station WOWT, Channel Six News, first showed the exclusive video of the incident last month. A man walking the family pet in a search area ignored orders to stop so police arrested him and an officer shot and killed the dog. Omaha Police Union President Sgt. John Wells told Fact Finders, Based on the video I dont see that the officers acted inappropriately. But the dog owners sister takes a different view, I...

Khawam not only tapped her military connections in her custody battle but also invoked broader contacts as she sought greater access to her son. In emails with her ex-husband, Khawam wrote that Senator Kerry asked about the son and whether he would be coming to Martha's Vineyard in the summer of 2012. She also wrote that Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island invited the son to a summer clambake in the state, and that the son "would greatly appreciate attending this family clambake." Included in the court file is what appears to be a handwritten note from Whitehouse, writing, "I...

PINELLAS PARK -- The fire was all around Dan Jensen. He could see it. He could smell it. He could hear it. It was close enough to touch. It was burning down his neighbor's house. It was creeping toward Jensen's own fence 10 feet away, and he started spraying the fire with his hose. Police ordered Jensen to get back, and he complied. But after a few minutes passed without firefighters arriving, a frustrated Jensen stepped forward and leaned down to grab the skinny gray garden hose once again. That's when he heard the order. "Hit 'em! Take him down!...
  • WH Petition to enable real time reporting during voting - design to cut fraud and drive voting

WH Petition: Click link to vote In a world of real time information why is our voting system so arcane? Why for example are election results held until after all voting is over? We have polls that suggest how we are going to vote, but in the 2012 election we learned that there are D+8 and R+2 models that reflect how many Republicans or Democrats are going to to vote. Why don't we provide the real answer in real time: Tally Results as they Occur: If the election is on a single day, or months long with early voting, the...

Astronomers have discovered a potential "rogue" alien planet wandering alone just 100 light-years from Earth, suggesting that such starless worlds may be extremely common across the galaxy. The free-floating object, called CFBDSIR2149, is likely a gas giant planet four to seven times more massive than Jupiter, scientists say in a new study unveiled Wednesday. The planet cruises unbound through space relatively close to Earth (in astronomical terms), perhaps after being booted from its own solar system. "If this little object is a planet that has been ejected from its native system, it conjures up the striking image of orphaned worlds,...

Snip snip snip. What's that sound? The sound of over 558,000 scissors at the ready. If Macy's doesn't cut its ties to Donald Trump, over half-a-million signers of an online petition will be urged to cut up their Macy's store credit card, the creator of the petition, Angelo Carusone, told TODAY this morning. Carusone, 30, said he started the petition after seeing a new Macy's ad that mixed in footage from "Miracle on 34th Street" with cameos from several of the faces behind Macy's celebrity brands. There's Justin Bieber, Martha Stewart, Taylor Swift, and then there's Donald Trump, skeptical that...
  • FBI Agent in Petraeus Scandal Has Been a Hero

FBI Special Agent Frederick Humphries II played a key role in stopping a terrorist attack aimed at blowing up Los Angeles International Airport just as the year 2000 dawned. He fatally shot a man who threatened him and other law enforcement officers with a knife during an altercation at Tampa's MacDill Air Force Base in 2010. And now Humphries finds himself in the middle of the widening scandal that has resulted in CIA Director David Petraeus' resignation. Humphries, 47, was the agent who initially saw the emails the FBI said Petraeus' biographer and mistress, Paula Broadwell, sent to Tampa socialite...

The controversial ads unveiled on the back of 10 CTA buses Wednesday read, In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. They conclude with the words, Support Copts. Defeat Jihad. Within hours of the buses' first runs, messages appeared on Facebook and Twitter denouncing the campaign. Many said degrading a spiritual tenet of Islam -- one that refers to a Muslim's personal quest to become a better person -- amounts to hate speech. This whole campaign insinuates Muslims are violent, said Asaf Bar-Tura, programs director for the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs, which protested...

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Police at Los Angeles International Airport are beefing up patrols during the 10-day Thanksgiving period that begins Friday. Police said they have new tools to ensure public safety at the airport, which includes 14 motorcycles, three electric standup vehicles, and a new fleet of state-of-the-art cars equipped with license plate recognition systems. We use the system for different reasons. One of them is to identify any vehicles that may have been involved in criminal acts, said Lt. Masis Sossikian from L.A. Airport Police. The system also allows officials to check when and where a criminal entered...

The military action that we are watching in the Middle East right now is just a preview of coming attractions. Tensions in the region are rising with each passing day, and all sides have been anticipating future conflicts and preparing for war for decades. It would be wonderful if everyone could sit down, forgive each other and agree to quit fighting, but that is not going to happen. Most of us that live in the western world have a very difficult time understanding the mindset of those immersed in these conflicts. In the Middle East, there are vendettas and grudges...

Conclusions Under present federal Supreme Court jurisprudence: The union which is the United States can never be dissolved by an independent action of one state (unless approved by Congress and/or the other states?) An individual state may never secede. Apparently, only people rebel - the states remain a part of the Union. Secession can be successful only if accomplished by force of arms (or agreement of the other states/Congress).
