The sprinklers went off on the Sun Life field, dousing everybody with water. One side judge ran away like the sprinklers were full of hot lava, while some players seemed to enjoy cooling off in the Miami heat. Someone found the off switch a few seconds later, and play resumed.

What's in your bug out bag? My eldest calls them Good bags, Get out of Dodge. My second daughter (see home page) calls it her apocalypse crate, a rubber maid container filled with all the stuff she'll need, and has it in her car. It has all her old army stuff that couldn't be returned. For example, gas masks, mre's etc. Ours has the normal stuff, blankets, food, flashlights, water, clothes, fire, ammo, etc. It might be a good thread to have input, suggestions, what's good, what's frivolous.

Ronald S. Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, has expressed “shock and dismay” at the latest display of anti-Semitism among supporters of the Italian club S.S. Lazio, which occurred during a Europa League match between Lazio and the English club Tottenham Hotspur in Rome on Thursday evening. The match was marred by anti-Semitic chanting, with Lazio fans shouting “Juden Tottenham, Juden Tottenham” and unrolling a huge banner reading “Free Palestine”. …

Everyone has an opinion about the conflict between Israel and Palestinians. Some say that Palestinians started it with their rockets aimed at Israel territory, while others say that Israel was using disproportionate force and killing innocent people in Gaza. These points have been debated in the media all over the world. We must realize that following the same paths of hatred and rage will always lead to the same results - pain for both parties, people dying on both sides and a life of fear with no ability to see the hope for the future. It is time for everyone...

The White House "kill list"--a regularly updated chart showing the world's most wanted terrorists used by President Barack Obama during kill or capture debates--may soon be getting a rule book to go with it. According to the New York Times, the administration--faced with the possibility that President Obama might lose the 2012 election to Mitt Romney--"accelerated work in the weeks before the election to develop explicit rules for the targeted killing of terrorists by unmanned drones, so that a new president would inherit clear standards and procedures." Until now, President Obama has had the "final moral calculation" overseeing the "kill...

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Fists flew during a Black Friday fight at the Roseville Galleria as three men trade blows, knocking down a display. They were possibly fighting over a pair of shoes. It happened in the middle of the mall, as families watched in horror. The sea of chaos was the last thing Lawrence Corpus thought he’d see while Black Friday shopping with his family at the Westfield Galleria. “It could have easily become a riot,” said Corpus. But when fists started flying, Corpus pulled out his iPhone and began recording. “I know a guy took the top of a...

An Oxon Hill man was critically injured when he tried to pour kerosene into a lighted space heater in his living room early Sunday, fire officials said. The 50-year-old man, who was not immediately identified, suffered burns to 70 to 80 percent of his body, according to Prince George’s County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor. He said the burns included respiratory damage that is difficult to survive. Firefighters were summoned to the single-family home in the 5100 block of Boulder Drive at 5:15 a.m. to find that the kerosene had ignited the area of the living room surrounding the heater. The...

Seventy hours ago, at this writing, while on Air Force One, President Barack Obama issued a press release that has been utterly ignored by the Western Press. The president has openly announced a move against violent plotters inside the US government and espionage agents. He does not use the terms “AIPAC” or “the Israel lobby” but it is highly unlikely he could be referring to anything else. Stock Market Last Push Higher Before the Big Collapse? Stock-Markets / Financial CrashNov 25, 2012 - 01:59 PM By: Graham Summers With most of Wall Street on vacation, those few traders manning their desks are taking advantage of the low volume to push the market sharply higher. This, combined with a large move up by the Euro has pulled the entire risk trade up forcing the US Dollar lower. This move was to be expected on some levels. Since 2002, there has been a rally from just before Thanksgiving until the second week of December. This year is shaping up...

A lot of FReepers tend to blame Baby Bomers for the ills of the world. The fact is that the Baby Boomers didn't originate a lot of the counter-culture activities of the 60s, they learned them from the Beatniks. So, to help clarify where the Hippies came from, you have to know and understand who the Beatniks were. Here is their story: Beatnik History Imagine it is the year 1959. • Springfield explosion cause: 'Human error,' Massachusetts fire marshal says

The massive explosion that rocked Springfield's entertainment district, leveling a strip club and injuring 21 people, was caused by "human error," according to Massachusetts Fire Marshal Stephen D. Coan. Officials said a thorough, block-by-block investigation since Friday's blast indicates the city's gas system is safe, intact and functioning properly. The probe will now focus on the Columbia Gas employee responsible for puncturing a gas line with a tool, and whether proper protocol was followed in the build-up to Friday's explosion. The blast injured 21 people, damaged more than three dozen buildings, and prompted a large-scale evacuation of the city's downtown...

KRUGMAN: This Is The Chart That Debunks What Everyone Says About The National Debt Joe WeisenthalNov. 25, 2012, 11:05 AMPaul Krugman posts a simple chart that makes a profound point. It compares the yield on UK debt vs. US debt. What should stand out for you, instantly, is that the two countries borrow at virtually identical rates, and have for years. What this should show to people is that much of the popular stories that people tell about sovereign debt is a myth. Countries that borrow in their own currencies and can "print" at will don't have default risk, so...

Immediately after Barack Obama’s reelection his union masters beat their chests and growled their demand for “Card Check” the decidedly anti-American dream of Big labor to use physical intimidation to force all of America to be unionized. Under this demented scheme union goons would be allowed to threaten and intimidate workers to scare them into voting to unionize thereby allowing union bosses to steal a portion of their paychecks each week in return for keeping their jobs. Democrats love this because as the crooks and lowlifes they are they look forward to union kickbacks of this extorted money which they...

Candidates running in Sunday's Likud primary have gone out of their way to emphasize their right-wing sensibilities, but even the rightest of the right Likudniks were unable to stop their party from undertaking one of the most devastating blows to the philosophy of love of the Land of Israel – the disengagement from Gaza and Northern Samaria. While former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon – still in bed in a comatose state – broke away to form Kadima before the actual destruction of the communities in Gush Katif, he was a Likud Prime Minister, and many of the forming members of...

Outside of Padre Island, there is not a beach in the country where visitors can drive for more than 60 miles without seeing a utility line, light pole, street, boardwalk, commercial or residential structure. Padre Island National Seashore represents the longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island in the world. And 66 of the park's 70 miles of beach are open to vehicle traffic. It has been that way long before Padre Island National Seashore was established 50 years ago this year. Most of the park remains as wild as it has ever been. On “Fox News Sunday,” Arizona Sen. John McCain said the GOP has work to do, including embracing “a bigger tent” to attract a bigger constituency. “I think we have to have a bigger tent. That’s — no doubt about it,” McCain said. “And, obviously we have to do immigration reform. There is no doubt whatsoever that the demographics are not on our side. And, we are going to have to give a much more positive agenda. It can’t be just being against the Democrats and against Harry Reid and against Obama. You got to be for things, and we have...
