"The greatest gift which America has received from the Lord is the faith which has forged its Christian identity," Pope John Paul II wrote in a document on the Church in America in 1999. Here at the end of 2012, the words might be the rallying cry of the season -- a reminder, a challenge, a warning -- and a gift to be pondered born of a grotto in Bethlehem. And it's not just something for Christians. As the pope wrote at the time: "The evangelization which accompanied the European migrations has shaped America's religious profile, marked by moral...

75 Economic Numbers From 2012 That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe By Michael Snyder December 20th, 2012 What a year 2012 has been! The mainstream media continues to tell us what a "great job" the Obama administration and the Federal Reserve are doing of managing the economy, but meanwhile things just continue to get even worse for the poor and the middle class. It is imperative that we educate the American people about the true condition of our economy and about why all of this is happening. If nothing is done, our debt problems will continue to get worse,...

Several conservative House Republican members are contemplating a plan to unseat Speaker John Boehner from his position on January 3, Breitbart News has exclusively learned. Staffers have compiled a detailed action plan that, if executed, could make this a reality. The Republicans, both conservatives and more establishment members alike, are emboldened after the failure of Boehner’s fiscal cliff “Plan B” on Thursday evening. Dissatisfaction with Boehner is growing in the House Republican conference, but until now there hasn’t been a clear path forward. Those members and staffers requested anonymity from Breitbart News at this time to prevent retaliation from Boehner...

The Rev. Jesse Jackson says the National Rifle Association's call for armed police in schools is no solution to mass shootings. Jackson reacted Friday after the NRA's top lobbyist said armed police were the only way to stop another tragedy like last week's mass slaying at a Connecticut elementary, where a gunman killed 20 students and six teachers. Jackson says armed police officers "couldn't compete" with an attacker with an assault weapon, and that a ban on such weapons was needed. He says he's disappointed that the NRA "showed no remorse" and offered more guns as a solution. He says...

Today, the same elite media who no doubt send their own kids to private schools that employ armed security, just can't stop howling ridicule at the NRA's idea to give every student in America those same protections. Because the NRA's idea is so appealing, as I write this, the media's going overboard, mocking it as bizarre, crazy, and out of touch. This is how the media works to silence and vilify the opposition and to ensure that only their ideas control The Narrative. The media doesn't care about securing our schools; they only care about coming after our guns and...

In an interview published Thursday by the liberal Web site, “The Huffington Post,” Gingrich reportedly said that both he and the Republican Party could accept a distinction between a “marriage in a church from a legal document issued by the state,” with the latter being acceptable, according to the Web site. The U.S. Department of Agriculture improperly inflated the numbers of jobs created or saved by the 2009 economic stimulus, according to the agency’s own Office of Inspector General (OIG). “[We] identified job numbers that were inflated because award recipients reported cumulative job numbers instead of the number of jobs created or saved during the quarter being reported. In other instances, job numbers were under-reported,” according to an OIG audit released Dec. 13. There are now calls from the Left for gun control legislation in response to Adam Lanza's unconscionable mass killing of innocent children at Sandy Hook Elementary. However, very few people seem to be asking the most basic question of all before getting started: What gun control legislation could have stopped Adam Lanza? The answer is "none." Let's consider a few alternatives: 1) The school was already a "gun free zone;" so obviously that wasn't effective. Fabrication methods combining printing and lithography have proven fertile. Andy Extance now asks how successful will they be outside the lab? © Felice C FrankelAbout eight carbon–carbon single bonds laid end-to-end. Roughly two sodium chloride unit cells side-by-side. These chemists’ benchmarks are useful for understanding a size far too small to see with the naked eye: the nanometre. Chemicals naturally inhabit this scale, even as electronic engineers drill ever further into it to make chips for our computers and smartphones. Now that semiconductor scientists are making commercial transistors with dimensions as small as 22nm, they face perhaps their biggest challenge...

Nearly 23 years after Rashad Khalifa was stabbed and beaten to death, the man accused of doing it has been convicted of premeditated, first-degree murder. A Pima County jury returned the guilty verdict against Glen Francis, 52, after three hours of deliberations. ... Attorneys for both sides agreed Khalifa, 54, was likely killed because of his religious teachings. After studying the Quran for years, he found a mathematical code and came to believe two verses were satanic. In his English translation of the Quran, he removed those verses. He also taught that people should follow the word of God and...

Speaking on the O'Reilly Factor, Laura Ingraham said a 'well-placed conservative voice on the Hill' told her he's beginning to hear rumblings of a move to replace John Boehner as House Speaker.  And the name that keeps coming up? I LOVE IT... [video] Besides the fact that Speaker Boehner's recent 'Plan B' collapse displayed for all his weak leadership and general lack of support, seems that Boo-Hoo Boehner's private dealing with Obama -outside normal committe channels- was really that last straw... it's just not working...
