Tardar, AKA Grumpy closely resembles a Snowshoe cat. However, she is not a true Snowshoe, since her mother is a domestic shorthair calico and her father has gray and white stripes. And while the eight-month old kitten may be wearing a permanent scowl, the huge number of videos featuring this very unique kitty (whose appearance is, to say the least, quite unusual), has put a huge grin on the faces of the millions of cat lovers who have made her into one of the most shining feline stars on the Internet. While her veterinarian suspects that her shape and size...

The head of the Benghazi Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Abdulsalam Al-Mihdawi, was kidnapped yesterday evening in Benghazi by an unknown group of armed men. Sources told the Libya Herald that Mihdawi and two colleagues were waiting in their vehicle at a traffic light on Venezia Street in the Hawari district of Benghazi when two masked gunmen jumped out of a nearby car and seized the officer. Shortly after the incident was reported, local police organised search squads to check nearby roads for any sign of the officer or his kidnappers, and later that evening, residents of Benghazi and officers from...

The Washington Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) inquiry into whether NBC’s David Gregory possession on national TV of an illegal 30-round “high-capacity” magazine has been ongoing for three weeks. Meanwhile, U.S. Army veteran James Brinkley is still grappling with the fallout from his arrest last year on the same charge. Mr. Brinkley’s story is just one example of at least 105 individuals who, unlike Mr. Gregory, were arrested in 2012 for having a magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds. On Sept. 8, Mr. Brinkley says he intended to drop his wife and young children at the White House for...

Obama and the progressive left, as a general rule, think the American people will believe what they're told to believe. We on the right talk about his political tin ear because he genuinely doesn't understand how we think. But in 21st century America, he doesn't have to. We are an irrelevant demographic to him. But that's not the end of it. He doesn't really care what the people who support him think either, because he doesn't have to. The best evidence of this that I've seen since the election was his TV appearance just before the new year, when he...

LATE BREAKING ALERT – NEXT VOTE ON SEMI AUTO BAN WILL TAKE PLACE SUNDAY YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED After getting nowhere in the Senate, the gun controllers have taken their campaign to destroy your rights to the Illinois House. Earlier today, Amendment #1 to SB2899 was introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives. Sponsored by rabidly anti-gun Rep. Eddie Acevedo, the amendment would do two things to you: 1. It would pick your pocket to pay for the confiscation and destruction of your own guns. 2. It would ban more than 50% of the rifles and more than 80% of...

In light of the tragic shooting in Newtown, Conn., partisan voices are only getting louder on the issue of gun control. Recently, Washington Post columnist Matt Miller argued that “everyone knows we need to reduce gun violence” and that “we still need to boost the economy.” Mr. Miller proposed a massive, $100 billion gun buyback program, using the ballyhooed Australian buyback program as his template. According to Mr. Miller, this included banning semi-automatic and automatic rifles and shotguns, and conducting a compulsory buyback program. Unfortunately, the reasons underlying Mr. Miller’s support for the Australian method of gun control collapse upon...

The approvals were given after the state Civil Service Commission last week gave the green light to the mass layoffs, set for April 30. Notices are expected to go out soon to about 260 officers. Sarah Palin once warned of death panels resulted from socialized medicine. She was mocked for the label, but the United Kingdom’s NHS hospitals are seemingly striving to prove that Palin was correct. The Liverpool Care Pathway has become notorious for its supposed end-of-life treatment. Over time, it has come to light that the so-called end-of-life “care” really consists of slowly starving and dehydrating patients to death, even children, who are put on the pathway not for being terminally ill, but simply for being disabled. Now, more shocking news has come to the surface. It turns out that half of all...

Explanation: Get out your red/blue glasses and float next to Helene, small, icy moon of Saturn. Appropriately named, Helene is one of four known Trojan moons, so called because it orbits at a Lagrange point. A Lagrange point is a gravitationally stable position near two massive bodies, in this case Saturn and larger moon Dione. In fact, irregularly shaped ( about 36 by 32 by 30 kilometers) Helene orbits at Dione's leading Lagrange point while brotherly ice moon Polydeuces follows at Dione's trailing Lagrange point. The meteorite — named NWA 7034 — is markedly dissimilar from other meteorites from Mars that scientists have studied on Earth. NWA 7034 has about 10 times more water content (about 6,000 parts per million) than any of the 110 other known meteorites that have fallen to Earth from Mars, suggesting that the meteorite probably came from the Martian surface, as opposed to deeper inside, said University of New Mexico planetary scientist...

When Jonathan Edwards described the awakening in his church, he had to use words like “surprising,” “extraordinary” and “astonishing.” The Bible says of the early church that “awe came upon every soul” (Acts 2:43). We can’t program that into our worship: 10:45 am – Awe comes upon every soul. Since revival is of God, we should pray for it. But how? The Bible teaches us how to pray; Isaiah 63:15-64:12 is a biblical prayer for revival.

The long-awaited proposals by the Food and Drug Administration are part of a fundamental change aimed at preventing food-borne outbreaks — caused by everything from leafy greens to canteloupes to peanut butter — rather than simply reacting to them.
