Normally, I don’t to the vanity thing, but I think this “Glenn Beck Plan” needs to be Freeper analyzed and dissected. First let me say, Glenn Beck has done a great service to America and I really appreciate his Tea Party, patriotic events and leadership. I thought his TV program was fantastic. I enjoy listening to his serious radio discussions, but he and the gang get a little too rambunctious and off the wall at times. That said: Did anyone else hear Beck this morning talking options for dealing with an Obama gun control and possible gun confiscation effort? What...

"It is now time to return the control of our prison system to California," Gov. Jerry Brown declared at a news conference Tuesday morning. Amen to that. Federal lawsuits and federal judges have taken over the state's prison system. Unelected judges don't have to worry about paying for what they command. Nor need they worry about losing their jobs should they incite the public's wrath. Thus, judges have ordered massive increases in inmate health and mental health spending. Those orders have driven up the annual cost per inmate to more than $55,000. About $17,000 of that sum goes toward health...

Forgotten or semi-forgotten in the hullabaloo over Al Gore netting a cool hundred million from the sale of Current TV to Al Jazeera is that back in 2009 the ex-veep was on his way to being the first carbon billionaire off global warming. It’s unclear how close he came to accomplishing that goal, but it’s a safe bet he didn’t do badly, considering his lifestyle. (Well, this house apparently went to Tipper in the breakup.) Whatever else he is, Gore is arguably a business genius when it comes to generating massive amounts of income from dubious enterprises and, unlike Bernie...

I've used 'bwahahahaha' several times recently in response to Liberal hypocrisy, so can't use it this time. Mother Jones says this "invite-only and off-the record" meeting is the kind that "conspiratorial conservative bloggers dream about." Those in the meeting pledged BIG MONEY to supposedly remove BIG MONEY from the politics they are trying so hard to dominate. The whole affair is known as the "Democracy Initiative." At the end of the day, many of the attendees closed with a pledge of money and staff resources to build a national, coordinated campaign around three goals: getting big money out of politics, expanding...

<p>Mark your calendar. On Jan. 19, two days before President Obama is inaugurated and a day before Sen. With 300 million guns in the U.S., there should be more than enough people ready to participate.</p>

Several Wyoming lawmakers are proposing legislation designed to protect gun-owners from any potential federal firearm ban. The “Firearms Protection Act” bill, introduced this week, would make any federal law banning semi-automatic firearms or limiting the size of gun magazines unenforceable within the state’s boundaries. Anyone trying to enforce a federal gun ban could face felony charges under the proposal. It also includes a provision allowing the Wyoming Attorney General’s office to defend any state resident against any federal firearm ban.

Well, thank goodness we're taking the issue seriously. It's difficult to conceive of a sillier proposal than the trillion-dollar platinum coin, but it's not as if some people aren't working hard at it. National Journal reports that a new suggestion involves government scrip --- IOUs, in other words: The $1 trillion platinum coin seems too wacky; the 14th amendment too risky. But could IOU's be the solution to an impasse on raising the nation's borrowing limit?Yes, and President Obama should publicly adopt the idea, Edward Kleinbard, a University of Southern California law professor and former chief of staff to CongressÂ’s...

Companies owned by Catholics and Protestants have received temporary ObamaCare injunctions. The injunction requested by Oklahoma's Hobby Lobby and Mardel stores was rejected. Oklahoma is the only state where every county, all 77, voted against Barack Obama. Maybe that's the problem, or maybe the problem is the Cash Cow Status of Hobby Lobby, which is required to pay a fine of $1.3 Million PER DAY if they refuse to pay for birth control and abortions (the morning after, and the week after pill) for employees under their self-insured health care programs. Biography isn't policy. President Obama's choice for secretary of defense, Chuck Hagel, former Nebraska Republican senator, has a resume most politicians can envy: a clean senatorial record, no ethical lapses and two purple hearts from a war many opposed and many more tried to avoid. Some think Hagel's 2006 comment about "the Jewish lobby" should disqualify him, believing it a code word for anti-Semitic sentiments. There is nothing wrong with criticizing the policies of any Israeli government. Israelis likely do this more than foreigners. It's just that Jews are rightly sensitive to the use of words like these because it...

TAMPA - The concept of an annual gun buyback program for Hillsborough County got an icy reception from county commissioners, several of whom questioned whether such a plan would make a difference in gun violence. Commissioner Lesley Miller, whose son was a shooting victim, said he doubts whether anyone with criminal intent would ever show up at a gun buyback. One wall of the chapel has a cross-shaped window that, when sunlit, beams its shape onto an altar table. A vibrant fresco that is unusual for Turkey was perfectly preserved. Nicholas was later canonized, becoming the St. Nicholas of Christmas fame. Myra had a much unhappier fate. After some 800 years as an important pilgrimage site in the Byzantine Empire it vanished — buried under 18 feet of mud from...

Individuals are sovereign – not the government Andrew Napolitano: 2nd Amendment protects our right to shoot tyrants, not deer The right of the people to keep and bear arms is an extension of the natural right to self-defense and a hallmark of personal sovereignty. It is specifically insulated from governmental interference by the Constitution and has historically been the linchpin of resistance to tyranny. And yet, the progressives in both political parties stand ready to use the coercive power of the government to interfere with the exercise of that right by law-abiding persons because of the gross abuse of that...

OVERVIEW OF THE DAVIDIAN MASSACREby Carol Moore I was one of millions of Americans who, after seeing the April 19, 1993 burning of the Branch Davidian church outside of Waco, Texas wondered: Did these people really commit mass suicide, as the government alleged, despite the clear evidence on television that the fire started after a tank crashed into one part of the building? Were they really as insane as the government claimed? Why did they have to be attacked with massive, military-like force 51 days earlier? What is the truth? After two years of research I came to the following...

The hot new video at MRCTV.org is 1995 footage of Attorney General Eric Holder, when he was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. In his remarks before the Woman's National Democratic Club, broadcast by CSPAN 2, Holder said people should be ashamed to own guns, just the way that cigarette smokes now "cower outside of buildings" to smoke. "What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way...

  • Has modern Christianity formed a new Church? [vanity]

Has modern Christianity formed a new Church? I'll keep the journey into history simple. In the last 2000 years the churches large enough to survive the attacks by larger established churches could survive. They were not civil nor peaceful. They conducted massive wars against each other. However, over the last several decades, something different has happened, a new church has formed. All these churches that used to slaughter each other now accept the baptisms and membership performed by their one time rivals. Individual doctrines no longer matter. Their adherents now claim everyone is "saved" in the body of Christ. Modern...

Rev. Louie Giglio, who had been announced as the pastor to give the benediction at the presidential inauguration, has now pulled himself out of the ceremony, after criticism of his previous anti-gay comments and actions, sources confirmed to ABC News. Giglio, who is now Pastor at Passion City Church in Georgia and his role at Obama’s second inauguration was first announced Tuesday. But the liberal website Thinkprogress reported Wednesday on audio of Giglioi delivering a sermon in the mid-1990s in which he said homosexuality is a sin and advocated gay “recovery.”

Repercussions from a Henan school knife attack that injured 23 pupils last month are still being felt as Beijing security officials announced on Wednesday that every kindergarten, and primary and middle school in China will hire at least one full-time security officer. The officials, from the Central Comprehensive Social Management Commission that oversees law enforcement, said they had ordered a nationwide crackdown on crimes in neighbourhoods near schools. Illegal businesses and hazardous roads and construction projects nearby are also being inspected. The announcement, reported by the People’s Daily on Thursday, comes weeks after a man stormed into a village school...

Reducing unemployment is critical to a housing recovery in the USA. Unfortunately, unemployment is not falling as quickly as it should. (Perhaps maybe that is why Hilda Solis stepped down as Labor Secretary!) Initial jobless claims were released this morning and showed an increase of 371,000, up from the downward revised print of 367,000 from last week. The expected print was 365,000. Notice that there has not been much improvement over the past year (SA). On a non seasonally adjusted (NSA) basis, we can see the deteriorating trend in initial jobless claims since September. In addition to mediocre employment numbers,...
