  • Green Scam: Obama Assures Donors That Cash Will Keep Flowing to Their Green Energy Ventures

Yesterday during his second Inaugural Address Barack Obama promised to blow billions of taxpayer dollars on more global warming junk science projects. After all, his donors have to get paid. Eighty percent of Obama’s green energy “investments” his first term went to committed donors. Much of the money was lost. During his first term over 19 of Obama’s green ventures went belly-up after receiving billions of dollars. But that won’t stop him from committing more of your cash to this failed cause. Yesterday, James Delingpole at The Telegraph tossed cold water on Obama’s reckless statements on climate change.

Yesterday was a historic day. Sure we had presidential inauguration but it was also perhaps the first and only day when loudmouth MSNBC host Chris Matthews actually shut his mouth for a few seconds. The cat that got Matthews’s tongue was being reminded by fellow MSNBC host Martin Bashir of his inane 2008 remark that he gets a “thrill going up my leg” when hearing Barack Obama speak. Watch below for the video. The joke at the former Democratic operative’s expense happened during a post-inaugural panel on MSNBC which was predictably stacked with all liberal participants. Matthews was joined by...

HOUSTON -- Ninety-three-year-old Elbert Wood came home from a doctor’s appointment Monday morning to find his home burglarized and vandalized with spray paint. The World War II hero pointed to the furniture, walls, windows, paintings and TV, now tagged with graffiti. “I never heard of anything like this before," Wood said. If he’d been home when the crooks broke in, Wood said, “I’d have tried to kill ‘em.” Two of the suspects were caught just down the street with red paint on their hands, spray can caps in their pockets and stuff stolen from Wood’s home. One teen admitted to...

The country that invented Nazism sets up national gun registry Something very instructive just happened in Germany. Germany just implemented "a vast registry that details every legal gun owner in the country, along with information about all of their firearms." They did this, based on records that, in some cases, "were kept on index cards across what used to be 551 separate local registries." Thus, with everyone's name already on an index card (read: 4473 forms) in what was effectively a "universal background check," it was a small step to a national gun registry. Not surprisingly, "gun rights groups" in...

But you might have missed the latest on the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where Brady will reside when it's all said and done. Ditto Belichick. Not all of the former players and contributors who were recently named to the Hall's list of finalists are that cut and dried. Take one of the headliners: Michael Strahan. Great player? No doubt. First-ballot Hall of Famer? We'll get to that.

BOSTON — Among the many changes that Christopher M. Mayer wanted to make when he became publisher of The Boston Globe in 2010 was to transform a particularly unattractive section of the newsroom. Mr. Mayer wanted to fill in what he called “the center of the doughnut” on the second floor — acres of abandoned desks once occupied by more than 100 workers in the payroll, classified and advertising departments. Those jobs have largely disappeared in recent years from The Globe, which is owned by The New York Times Company, and Mr. Mayer faces a situation familiar to many publishers...

Obama’s speech: Very long on gaseous generalities; exiguous with details. “Par for the course,” you say. Yes and no. Yes, an inaugural speech is intended to set the tone for an administration rather than spell out in detail a policy program. I appreciated, as must every American of good will, his promise that his oath of office was before “God and country, not party or faction.” I wish I could believe it. Most leftist commentators I’ve checked in on have regarded the speech as they regard Barack Obama, as a consummate example of “pragmatism.” I find it curious that...

However, I've had conversations with the culture of death and they insist that a fertilized egg isn't alive; that a child growing in the womb is a parasite on the mother's body (which, a thought just occurred to me - parasites are living beings as well!); that it's not alive until it's viable (which means my four year old isn't alive!); that because it's attached to its mother's body, mother can decide whether she wants to...

SEGOU, Mali (AP) — American planes transported French troops and equipment to Mali, a U.S. military spokesman said Tuesday, as Malian and French forces pushed into the Islamist-held north. Douentza had been held by Islamist rebels for four months, located 190 kilometers (120 miles) northeast of Mopti, the previous line-of-control held by the Malian military in Mali's narrow central belt. The Islamist fighters have controlled the vast desert stretches of northern Mali, with the weak government clinging to the south, since a military coup in the capital in March last year unleashed chaos. French and Malian troops arrived in Douentza...

Alexis de Tocqueville was a gentleman-scholar who emerged as one of the world’s great prophets. More than a century and a half ago, when most people were ruled by kings, he declared that the future belonged to democracy. He explained what was needed for democracy to work and how it could help protect human liberty. At the same time, he warned that a welfare state could seduce people into servitude. He saw why socialism must lead to slavery. Tocqueville staked his life on liberty. “I have a passionate love for liberty, law, and respect for rights,” he wrote. “I am...

The gun control controversy is only the latest of many issues to be debated almost solely in terms of fixed preconceptions, with little or no examination of hard facts. Media discussions of gun control are dominated by two factors: the National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment. But the over-riding factual question is whether gun control laws actually reduce gun crimes in general or murder rates in particular. If, as gun control advocates claim, gun control laws really do control guns and save lives, there is nothing to prevent repealing the Second Amendment, any more than there was anything to...

In fact, he does so twice, when Nicholas asks him about Obama’s continuation of George Bush’s drone policy and on the “executive orders” Obama promised on gun control (actually executive actions, most or all of which don’t require actual EOs). The minister, Taro Aso, is only saying out loud what many government officials in countries with nationalized health care are thinking: people are getting older, living longer, and becoming a drain on our national budgets. From the Guardian: ******** Japan's new government is barely a month old, and already one of its most senior members has insulted tens of millions of voters by suggesting that the elderly are an unnecessary drain on the country's finances. Taro Aso, the finance minister, said on Monday that the elderly should be allowed to "hurry up and die" to relieve pressure on the state...

The Secretary of the International Lutheran Federation has rejected the proposal presented again about a day or so ago by the Prefect of the former Holy OfficeAn ordinariate for Lutherans who wish to re-enter into communion with the Vatican, whilst preserving their traditions at least partially? The idea of extending the solution offered by Pope Benedict XVI to groups of traditionalist Anglicans to followers of Martin Luther was suggested for the first time by the President of the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity, Cardinal Kurt Koch. But just as the proposal is being put forward again by the Prefect of...

According to Gallup as of October 26, 2011: Forty-seven percent of American adults currently report that they have a gun in their home or elsewhere on their property. And according to the census department their 2012 Population estimate is 313.9 Million. Multiplying that out yields a value of 147.54 Million and rounding up provides a figure of 148 Million gun owners. Now consider a number of factors in that value: 1) The Gallup poll was taken over a year ago way before the Dear Liar was Re-coronated and Firearms sales have soared to unprecedented levels. 2). People sometimes tend to...

At last week's signing of "executive actions" designed to combat gun violence in America, President Obama, flanked by schoolchildren, said, "...when it comes to protecting the most vulnerable among us, we must act now." There's no doubt that children, especially schoolchildren, are vulnerable to all kinds of threats, but are they "the most vulnerable," as the president claimed, or is there another category of human life that qualifies for that designation? Forty years after a Supreme Court majority opened the door to legalized abortion, the number of aborted babies has reached roughly 55 million. Think of that. Fifty-five million potential...

At a time when President Obama has announced severe gun control proposals, it might come as a surprise to note that Mahatma Gandhi, one of the greatest champions of non-violence and someone whom the president counts among his personal inspirations, actively campaigned for the right to bear arms during the Indian freedom struggle. Today it is often argued that a large part of the purpose behind the Second Amendment—protection against the prospect of government tyranny—is unjustified or irrelevant. But this argument is strikingly similar to the one advanced by the British colonialists who presented themselves as the redeemers of their...

In a move that surprised many, Benedict XVI will receive today the secretary general of Vietnam's Communist Party. Nguyen Phu Trong will stop by the Vatican during a tour of European capitals. The audience with Benedict XVI is unusual for several reasons. The first is that Tuesday is usually a rest day for the Pope. In addition, papal audiences are usually reserved for heads of state, and not leaders of political parties.
  • Howard Baker’s sell out of our rights to pursue Democrat voter fraud is still haunting America

The last presidential election produced a number of documented claims of Democrat voter fraud. A group known as truethevote.org has examined the many allegations and readied a list of voter fraud claims they have found to be credible and genuine…… Among America’s registered voters more than 1,800,000 have been proved to be dead. This of course provides more opportunities for fraud by the Party that survives on voter fraud. In Maryland dead people have registered (guess which Party got their check mark) and voted AFTER their death. Over 2,750,000 people are registered to vote in at least two states. We...

Japan's new government is barely a month old, and already one of its most senior members has insulted tens of millions of voters by suggesting that the elderly are an unnecessary drain on the country's finances. Taro Aso, the finance minister, said on Monday that the elderly should be allowed to "hurry up and die" to relieve pressure on the state to pay for their medical care. "Heaven forbid if you are forced to live on when you want to die. I would wake up feeling increasingly bad knowing that [treatment] was all being paid for by the government," he...
