FNN exclusive: The Obama administration, still smarting from the disclosure of their previous fake skeet shooting, scheduled a skeet shooting session with reporters and cameras invited. Obama, aka "The One", had Reggie Manlove as his partner for the session. Obama had his Roy Rogers outfit on: Mom jeans, Roy Rogers boots with matching buckskin shirt and white hat and Reggie had his Dale Evans outfit on: leopard skin pattern leotards, Dale Evans boots with matching pink silk blouse with yellow scarf and dayglow orange hat. Ande4rson Cooper and Chrissy Matthews both had to leave early after wetting themselves due to...
  • Hagel’s $160 Billion 'West Bank' US Troops Deathtrap (U.S. Troops to West Bank & Gaza)

Hagel, at Obama's bidding, plans to send troops to Judea andSamaria (the "West Bank") where they would soon be victims of Hamas terror. It's in writing. An investigative report. There is only one reason that Chuck Hagel was picked by President Obama to be US Defense Secretary, and why Obama will go nuclear to get him confirmed: Hagel is the only person alive now dumb enough to deploy US “peacekeeping” troops to what is surely a "West Bank" deathtrap. Don’t believe me??! Well, in early 2009, two years after Hamas violently took over Gaza, Hagel along with a ragged has-been...
  • Bay Area, California to lose big if federal sequester cuts hit this week

Just when Californians are finally feeling upbeat again about where the state is heading, here comes a fresh downer: The federal sequester cuts set to kick in this week could cost California billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of jobs while making most of our daily lives more difficult. The state's budget may be balanced and the economy improving, but unless congressional Republicans and President Barack Obama reach a last-minute deal, the federal government on Friday will begin slashing $85 billion this year, including about 8 percent from the Pentagon and about 5 percent from most other discretionary programs....
  • Afghans accuse U.S. special forces of being involved in torture

KABUL, Afghanistan -Afghanistan´s president says all U.S. special forces must leave eastern Wardak province within two weeks because of allegations that Afghans working with them are torturing and abusing other Afghans. Presidential spokesman Aimal Faizi says Sunday´s decision was taken during a meeting of the National Security Council because of the alleged actions of Afghans who are linked to the U.S. special forces. He said the government wants the individuals, whom he did not identify, to be handed over to the government. Wardak is a restive province next to Kabul and has been the focus of counterinsurgency efforts.

The chorus out of Washington, from the chattering classes to conservatives themselves, is that the sky is falling on the Republican Party. If only those people would look at a diagram of our electoral history, they would see that nothing is permanent in American politics. “While it may seem as though the Democrats have secured a dominant position over the Republicans, political party fortunes in America regularly change abruptly,” says Lara Brown, an expert on electoral politics. Brown, the author of “Jockeying for the American Presidency,” points to the most startling turnaround in modern times — the eight-year revolution between...

The Afghan president has ordered US special forces to leave Wardak province within two weeks. The decision was being taken due to allegations of disappearances and torture by Afghans considered to be part of US special forces, said a spokesman for Hamid Karzai. The strategically significant, central province of Wardak has been the recent focus of counter-insurgency operations. A US statement said it took all allegations of misconduct seriously. But the US could not comment specifically on this latest development "until we have had a chance to speak with senior government officials", the statement by a spokesman for US special...

The White House on Sunday detailed how deep spending cuts set to begin this week would affect programs in every state and the District, as President Obama launched a last-ditch effort to pressure congressional Republicans to compromise on a way to stop the across-the-board cuts. But while Republicans and Democrats were set to introduce dueling legislative proposals this week to avert the Friday start of the spending cuts, known as the sequester, neither side expected the measures to get enough support to pass Congress.

The Obama administration has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to strike part of a controversial 1996 law that bars recognition of same-sex marriage, even in the nine states where it is now legal, for such federal benefits as income and estate taxes and federal employee benefits. “The law denies to tens of thousands of same sex couples who are legally married under state law an array of important benefits that are available to legally married opposite sex couples,” the Justice Department argued in a brief urging the high court to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act. The justices hear oral...

New legislation in the Texas State legislature, sponsored by Steve Toth (R-Dist. 15), looks to stop Texas law enforcement officials from confiscating so-called “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines. The legislation is called the Firearm Protection Act. Toth’s proposal would create a Class A misdemeanor for police officers enforcing any new federal gun regulations. It also would establish cause for the state attorney general to sue anyone who seeks to enforce new federal gun regulations. It is one of several states-rights measures being offered by conservative state lawmakers nationwide in response to federal gun control proposals. “There’s a federal law,...

CBS's Bill Plante: Obama Administration 'Undercutting First Amendment,' 'It's State-Run Media' By Noel Sheppard Created 02/24/2013 - 4:01pm Bill Plante, CBS News Senior White House Correspondent, made a rather shocking statement Sunday about the Obama administration's media strategy. Appearing on CNN's Reliable Sources, Plante said that to the extent the White House is able to "put out their own material" without the Washington press corps, "they're undercutting the First Amendment...it's state-run media" (video follows with transcript and commentary): HOWARD KURTZ, HOST: Bill Plante, you've been patrolling that building since Ronald Reagan. Does the White House press look a little self-involved,...

...the original text of the Book of Mormon contains expressions which seem inappropriate or improper in some of their uses. For example, in the original text a good many occurrences of the phrase "and it came to pass" are found in inappropriate contexts. In his editing for the 1837 edition, Joseph Smith removed at least 47 of these apparently extraneous uses of this well-worked phrase. In most cases, there were two or more examples of "it came to pass" in close proximity; in some cases, nothing new had "come to pass."

Health world braces for sequester By Sam Baker - 02/24/13 03:00 PM ET Every corner of the healthcare world has something — and potentially a lot — to lose from the $85 billion in automatic spending cuts set to hit the government on March 1. Doctors and hospitals say the sequester’s Medicare cuts will cost their industries more than 200,000 jobs just this year. A reduction in food inspections could lead to more food-borne illnesses, the White House has warned. And advocates for medical research say their work could be set back a generation. With the cuts looking increasingly inevitable,...

On February 11, 2013, the Denver Post ran a guest commentary of great clinical interest. In the piece in question, Colorado State University philosophy professor Philip Cafaro advanced the argument that immigration needs to be sharply cut, because otherwise people from Third World nations will come to the United States and become prosperous, thereby adding to global warming. “And make no mistake: Immigrants are not coming to the United States to remain poor,” warns the philosopher. “Those hundreds of millions of new citizens will want to live as well and consume energy at the same rates as other Americans. ....

The comedienne and “The View” host was spotted at the network this week meeting with new honcho Jeff Zucker, and the meeting sparked speculation that Behar — a former “Larry King Live” guest host who then landed her own highly rated show on CNN’s HLN — is part of Zucker’s plans to rejuvenate the channel. Behar's HLN show was canceled in November 2011. She's been on Al Gore's Current TV - recently purchased by Al Jazeera - since last September. Is CNN the next stop?

Ex-Sonics player Robert Swift has refused to leave his Seattle home after it was foreclosed on last summer, KOMO News in Seattle reports. Swift was drafted straight out of high school at age 19. He played three seasons for the Sonics and Thunder before falling out of the NBA, earning ~$11.5 million in salary. After he flamed out, he became one of the league's most notorious cautionary tales for the dangers of leaping straight from high school to the pros.
