  • Is James Comey A Serial Liar?

Scandal: When President Trump accused former FBI director James Comey of lying under oath in a tweet on Saturday, defenders rushed to Comey's aid. But Comey has been saying a lot of things that are decidedly fact challenged. Trump's tweet was sparked by a statement made by Comey's deputy, Andrew McCabe, after he was fired at the recommendation of the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility. McCabe had been accused of misleading an inspector general investigation about leaking information to the press about the Hillary Clinton investigation. In his statement, McCabe forcefully defended his contact with the media, denying that it...

Russia has done nothing to deserve its appalling treatment by Western powers and their totally controlled and subservient media - the only thing Russia did was to move into the Crimea, an area smaller than the island of Taiwan, which suited the people there as most are Russian speaking, and the reason they did that was to protect their naval base at Sevastopol after the Western inspired coup in the Ukraine. Apart from that they have done nothing and reports that they are planning to take back parts of Eastern Europe are pure fantasy. Russia has been subjected to an...

Two students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been arrested today for bringing weapons to school. A third student is being evaluated for making online threats. The first student, 18-year-old Jordan Salter, was arrested after pulling a two-inch black knife from her bra after a disagreement with another student took place, the Sun Sentinel reported. The second student, Gavin Stricker, 17, allegedly brandished a knife on the school bus earlier in the day. On top of everything else, a Broward County deputy was placed on administrative leave for allegedly sleeping on the job.

1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. 4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. 5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 6 And Annas the...

**SNIP** Rollins allegedly shot a 16-year-old girl, identified by family as Jaelynn Willey, and a 14-year-old boy with a Glock semi-automatic handgun in the hallway of the school at around 8 a.m. Both victims were rushed to a hospital, where the 14-year-old victim is in stable condition and Willey is in critical condition. Investigators were still looking into possible motives on Tuesday afternoon, but Sheriff Tim Cameron told reporters that he believed Willey had a previous relationship with Rollins. The connection, if any, between the 14-year-old victim and the alleged shooter remained unknown. Local community members started donating to a...

Fresh off an evening flight from New York City where he appeared on several news shows, David Hogg darts into his house in Parkland, grabs a box of chocolates - a gift for a friend - and hops into his Honda Accord. Within minutes, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School comes into view in the distance. It's two weeks after the mass shooting that launched the student-led #NeverAgain movement for gun control. David, a spokesman for the group, has become a familiar face to TV viewers.

5:10 a.m. update: The suspect in a string of bombings in Austin is dead, interim Austin Police Chief Brian Manley confirmed early Wednesday. Investigators identified several leads but the case really broke in the past 24 to 36 hours, Manley said. The chief described how authorities tracked down the suspects vehicle to a Round Rock-area hotel. Police began following the suspects vehicle, and as SWAT approached, the suspect detonated a bomb in the car, Manley said. The name of the suspect, described only as a 24-year-old white man, has not been released, pending notification of his family, Manley said. Although...

Discussing cities is like talking about the knots in a net: theyre crucial, but theyre only one part of the larger story of the net and what its supposed to do. It makes little sense to talk about knots in isolation when its the net that matters. The 100 million city: is 21st century urbanisation out of control? Cities are part of the system weve invented to keep people alive on Earth. People tend to like cities, and have been congregating in them ever since the invention of agriculture, 10,000 or so years ago. Thats why we call it civilisation....

One of the unavoidable tragedies of youth is the temptation to think that what is seen today has always been. Nowhere is this more noticeable than in our responses to the recent Parkland, Florida, massacre. Part of the responses to those murders are calls to raise the age to purchase a gun and to have more thorough background checks -- in a word, to make gun purchases more difficult. That's a vision that sees easy gun availability as the problem; thus, the solution is to reduce that availability. The vision that sees "easy" availability as the problem ignores the fact...

Britains post-Brexit trade deal with the United States could lead to even higher rates of obesity through the import of American foods high in fat and sugar, childrens doctors have warned. US hostility towards measures aimed at promoting healthier eating habits, such as traffic light labelling, is also a major threat to the governments anti-obesity drive, it has been claimed. {snip} Recent research by the Harvard University school of public health pinpointed free trade deals involving the US as a key factor in a process of nutrition transition from a traditional native diet to a much more western one...

NOAAs US temperature record shows that US was warmest in the 1930s and has generally cooled as CO2 has increased. This wrecks greenhouse gas theory, so they adjust the data to make it look like the US is warming. The NOAA data tampering produces a spectacular hockey stick of scientific fraud, which becomes the basis of vast amounts of downstream junk climate science. Pre-2000 temperatures are progressively cooled, and post-2000 temperatures are warmed. This year has been a particularly spectacular episode of data tampering by NOAA, as they introduce nearly 2.5 degrees of fake warming since 1895. (Please see full...

China is testing driverless tanks which could be equipped with artificial intelligence, a state-run newspaper reported on Wednesday, as the country continues with its military modernisation programme. State television showed images this week of the unmanned tanks undergoing testing, the Global Times reported. Footage showed a Type 59 tank being driven by remote control, in what the paper said was the first time a Chinese-made unmanned tank has been shown in a public forum. The Type 59 tank is based on an old Soviet model first used in China in the 1950s and has been produced in large numbers and...
