    Just by watching the news and reading the paper, many people think that all of the Coalition efforts are south of the green line. That is not true. Soldiers from many different units are operating in an area called Kurdistan or northern Iraq. One of those units is the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion. Northern Iraq is what Kurdish people call home. They have had some freedom and safety since 1991. These are also the same people that supported the United States and the war in Iraq.
