They may not look as threatening as some of the larger canine, but research revealed that the dachshund is the most aggressive breed of dog. Citing a study published by Applied Animal Behavior Science, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that one in five dachshunds has bitten or tried to bite strangers, and one in 12 has shown aggression toward its owners. The study involved researchers from the University of Pennsylvania. About 6,000 dog owners were questioned about their dogs' behavior. Thirty-three breeds were ranked on their aggression. Ranking below the dachshund was an even smaller dog, the Chihuahua....

Hillary on the Offensive February 12, 2008 8:44 AM So what will these next three weeks look like, until we hit the March 4 primaries in Ohio and Texas where Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, is looking for a win? They could get pretty tough, if last night's candidate interviews on WJLA, ABC's Washington DC affiliate, are any guide. You can watch them in full HERE. Or you can see our Good Morning America report from this a.m. on the interviews HERE. "I have been vetted, I have been through this," she said. "I understand exactly what is coming at me….I...

Today's religious map of the Middle East traces to the unification of the Arabian tribes under the banner of Islam in the 7th century, and their subsequent conquest of much of the known world. Muhammad's genius was in finding a way to unite the myriad of fissiparous, feuding Bedouin tribes of northern Arabia into a cohesive polity. Just as he had provided a constitution of rules under which the people of Medina could live together, so he provided a constitution for all Arabs, but this one had the imprimatur not just of Muhammad, but of God. Submission -- Islam --...

Head, a six-month-old pit bull with tattered ears and a passive demeanor, learned to sit on Saturday, a small but notable achievement for a dog once bred to fight. On a sidewalk in Humboldt Park, Head was part of a small group of neighborhood pit bulls participating in a dog obedience class taught by Tony Gordon, whose mission is more than just turning around a few hostile canines. Gordon, a disciple of Pavlov, said he also hopes to educate pit bull owners and transform public perception about a breed that has been maligned by the media in high-profile attacks on...

FORT HUACHUCA — The sound of shotguns being fired at Smith Middle School on Tuesday brought post military police officers to the scene. But instead of setting up a perimeter around the campus and then slowly beginning the process of clearing rooms, the soldiers used a new procedure of running to the sound to neutralize the active shooter. Law enforcement was putting out warnings to anyone intending to engage in criminal active shooting: If they kill, wound or otherwise threaten the public, they will be neutralized, and that could be lethal. Mark Dannels, deputy commander with the Cochise County Sheriff’s...

City officials are relenting on a plan to trap and kill aggressive squirrels that have been attacking humans in a popular park. The city does not have any immediate plans to arm the steel traps placed in the trees at Cuesta Park two weeks ago, David Muela, the city's community services director, said Friday. The city previously said it had no choice but to kill the squirrels after three people - including a 4-year-old boy - were bitten inside the park. The animals were jumping inside baby strollers, opening food bags and even scratching people giving them handouts including a...

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday said that Iranian nation has never been aggressive. Ahmadinejad said the Iranian nation are men of dialogue, wisdom and law. He warned certain groups against abusing international organizations and global communities to build up pressure on Iran. "They should know that the nation will not compromise its nuclear rights," he made it clear. According to IRNA, he ruled out major powers' claims that they were devoid of any...

SACRAMENTO, California (Reuters) - California is forging ahead with the most aggressive U.S. program to reduce global warming -- a plan that pits Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger against fellow Republican George W. Bush. Both the governor and his state's Democratic-led legislature want to make California -- the world's eighth largest economy -- a model to follow with caps in greenhouse gas emissions that the U.S. president rejects. State politicians still are hammering out differences over the proposed Global Warming Solutions Act. If passed, it is likely to play a role in November's vote for governor and in national politics for years...

3/14/2006 - WASHINGTON -- To become the best Airmen in the world, the Air Force trains against the best Airmen in the world. Aggressors, as they’re known, scrimmage against their fellow Airmen, much like football teams preparing for a game. Traditionally, aggressors have focused on aircrews, but in the near future, the Air Force is expanding instruction to encompass ground, space and cyberspace training, as well as streamlining the way air combat is taught. “Aggressors are about training, pure and simple,” said Maj. Gen. Norman Seip, assistant deputy chief of staff for air, space and information operations. “They train to...

Suit says state at fault in grizzly mauling... The widow of a hunter mauled by a grizzly bear while he was gutting an elk has filed an appeal with the Montana Supreme Court after a district judge here dismissed her lawsuit against the state. Mary Ann Hilston contends negligent management practices led to the death of her husband...in the fall of 2001. She filed a lawsuit in federal court in September 2004, claiming the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks knew there was an aggressive grizzly bear with two cubs prowling the...

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27, 2006 – Victory in the war on terror will require not only the defeat of terrorists overseas, but also the spread of liberty and freedom around the world, President Bush said here today. "The freedom agenda is a powerful part of our country's desire to lay the foundation for peace, and it's making a difference," Bush said at a meeting with the National Governors Association. The U.S. must stay on the offensive against terrorists and keep them on the run, Bush said, and to that end he thanked the governors for their support of the National Guard....

In this war freedom should come first not after! In New Hampshire the Motto is Live free or Die! I don't need Bush spying on law abiding americans and taking our freedoms. Anyone who surrenders a square inch of freedom to the government in the name of saftey is a traitor and should be treated like one! Let the Bush Fashists all drop dead! Filthy Commys! LET FREEDOM RING!

Bush’s giant Right Wing Noise Machine (RWNM) loves to preach about the Bush economic miracle. In fact, the RWNM’s current thinking is Bush doesn’t spend enough time talking about his economic triumphs. If only he did, then everyone would fall in line and believe in the great Bush economic miracle. There is one problem with this argument: it’s a lie. Any way you look at the Bush economy, it comes up short. Today, I want to compare Bush’s job creation record with other economic recoveries. As usual, Bush comes up way short. The national Bureau of Economic Research has identified...

WASHINGTON - Iran is closing in on production of nuclear weapons and even U.N. sanctions may not deter the aggressive government in Tehran, a top State Department official said Friday. Describing the Iranian government as "very aggressive, very determined to develop nuclear weapons," Robert Joseph, undersecretary for arms control and international security, dismissed Iran's contention that it seeks only civilian nuclear power. "We know this is not the case," Joseph said at the University of Virginia's Miller Center in Charlottesville. Iran has methodically taken all but one last step to turn out nuclear weapons, he said. "Once they begin to...

MEMRI hosted an event on Capitol Hill last June titled "Must-See Saudi TV." The event was sponsored by Senators Santorum, Schumer, and Collins and analyzed television programs broadcast by stations funded and controlled by the Saudi Arabian government, such as TV1, TV2, and satellite channels such as Al-Majd and Iqra TV. Shows featured leading Saudi religious figures, professors, members of the royal family, government leaders, and intellectuals. Certain messages and themes surfaced again and again: calls for the annihilation of Christian and Jews; anti-American and anti-Semitic declarations; rallying cries for jihad and terrorism, and incitement against American troops in Iraq.

When you think of a government information office, do you think of much more than dusty information pamphlets and glossy tourist brochures full of pleasant platitudes, putting the best face forward on a particular nation? Such is perfectly natural for friendly, and even some not-so-friendly nations, because that's what government information offices normally do. But Venezuela's Marxist government has an entirely different idea. The innocuously named Venezuela Information Office in Washington, D.C. is an aggressive Cuba-style PsyOps and disinformation operation sponsored by the Venezuelan government. Its operatives not only seek to get the Venezuelan government's castroite message out to the...

President Bush's second-term plans to reshape Social Security, immigration laws and other domestic programs are facing a stiff challenge from a group that was reliably accommodating in the president's first four years: congressional Republicans. After essentially rubber-stamping much of Bush's first-term agenda, many House and Senate Republicans plan to assert themselves more forcefully to put their mark on domestic policy in the new year, according to several lawmakers. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) has privately criticized White House handling of the recent intelligence bill and Bush's plan to postpone tax reform until 2006 or later. Rep. Thomas M. Davis...
