On HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" Friday night, host Bill Maher posed a simple question to his panel (which included Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, actor Alec Baldwin and MSNBC's Chris Matthews): "Is Rush Limbaugh a racist?" "I think you need to always distinguish the rank and file of the Republican Party and conservatives and voters from their media representation and media stars and I believe that the people who are in the media and prominent in the media in the conservative community, speaking on behalf of the Republican Party, have a very clear racist stripe through their commentary, consistently....

0 Rock, a three-for-three Emmy winner as TV's finest comedy, finally returns tonight. It's puzzling that I get scores of questions about the most obscure TV series, some canceled years, ago, but I have not received a single inquiry about where 30 Rock has been. Then again, given the mediocre ratings, this probably shouldn't be that great a surprise. A widespread observation is that the stories are too inside TV to strike a chord with the masses. How then do you explain the enduring popularity of the likes of Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood? Tina Fey has ticked off some...

A word of advice to liberals who wish to pay tribute to Ted Kennedy: don't mention his name in the same sentence as the word "bridge" since it will undermine whatever else you wrote. Unfortunately for Alec Baldwin, that is exactly what he did in his Huffington Post tribute to the deceased senator: Don't name a bridge after Ted. Yes, Baldwin did write a lot more about Ted Kennedy in his tribute but that one sentence alone pretty much overwhelms whatever else he wrote. However, to be fair to Alec, let us look at some of the rest of his...

Hartford, Conn. (AP) -- A spokesman for Alec Baldwin says the actor has no plans to challenge Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman in the 2012 election. Matthew Hiltzik said Monday that Baldwin does not plan to move to Connecticut or to run. He says the "30 Rock" star wants Lieberman to stay in office because there are so few moderate Republicans in the Senate. Lieberman was re-elected in 2006 as an independent after he lost the Democratic primary.

Here is video of Sen. Joe Lieberman on CNN today where he reacted to news to liberal Actor Alec Baldwin reportedly said in Playboy magazine that he might move to Connecticut and "run against Joe Lieberman - because I don't have any use for him." CNN's John King asked Lieberman about it and he said, "All I can say is 'Make my day.'" Lieberman is not up for reelection for three more years. . . . . (Watch Video)

Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock star, HuffPost blogger and rumored Senate candidate, took a swipe at Jack Cafferty over comments he made yesterday on CNN. In talking about actors running for office, Cafferty described Baldwin's credentials as "questionable," but noted that Al Franken is Harvard-educated. That prompted Baldwin to ask: "So Franken fits the mold for Cafferty because he went to Harvard? I would like to make a deal with Cafferty. Jack, you don't tell people that a career in the performing arts disqualifies them from seeking elected office, and I won't say publicly that your being convicted of leaving the...

As speculation continues to swirl over Sarah Palin’s presidential ambitions, the equally colourful and controversial co-star from her Saturday Night Live appearance has announced he too may seek public office – from the other side of the political spectrum. Alec Baldwin, the outspoken and famously ultra-liberal Hollywood star mercilessly sent in the puppet satire Team America, has been rehabilitated from the showbiz dead by his scene-stealing role in US television show 30 Rock and has now put word out that he is seeking a seat to run for Congress in 2012. Baldwin, whose political entanglements include blogging for the Huffington...

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Emmy Award winner Alec Baldwin is eyeing a post-acting career that could take him off a Hollywood soundstage into the halls of Congress. Baldwin, who currently stars in the NBC comedy "30 Rock," told Playboy magazine that he is seriously considering running for Congress. But he acknowledged his opponents would have plenty of fodder to use against him. "I'll put it this way," he told the magazine. "The desire is there; that's one component. The other component is opportunity." A native New Yorker, Baldwin said he has been approached by an unnamed Democratic law firm who wanted...

Baldwin: I have sometimes thought I could move to New Jersey or Connecticut and run. I'd love to run against Joe Lieberman. I have no use for him. But it's all fantasy. I'm a carry-me-out-in-a-box New Yorker. Here, anything can happen. Who thought Eliot Spitzer would go down the way he did? Senator Hillary Clinton left to serve as secretary of state. Two of the biggest forces gone. Maybe Andrew Cuomo will run for one of their old seats. How much longer will Chuck Schumer stay as senator? After 2013 Bloomberg will be gone. What happens then?

Movie star Alec Baldwin has been given the opportunity to launch his political career in Ohio by a local law firm keen to back a bid to make him the state's next Governor. The Cooler star has often spoken about his political aspirations and now he has gone public with his plans to retire from acting in 2012, a group of leading Ohio businessmen want him to consider running for office there. The first half of the program chronicles the Chicago-based organizer Saul Alinsky and three key Alinsky organizations to show how his techniques developed over time including The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council, in Chicago's blighted stockyards in the 1930's. MANILA, Philippines - First, Teri Hatcher questioned the medical certificates of Filipino doctors. Then, British show Harry & Paul ridiculed a Filipina maid as a sex symbol. And just recently, Chinese columnist Chip Tsao called the Philippines a nation of slaves. Now, it’s 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin's turn, joining the ranks of "internationally-recognized" celebrities who have maligned Filipinos, according to critics. Baldwin – a divorced father of a 13-year-old girl – told David Letterman in one of his last interviews on the Late Show, how he taught of getting, or buying, himself a Filipina bride. “I think about getting...

Kim Basinger, the actress who last left her imprint on America by leaking a voice mail from her ex-husband yelling incoherently at his daughter (after she had likely prevented the daughter from being available per court instruction for his phone call), has shared with all of us her newest embarrassment these days. Her naughty naked past, is catching up with her. In an interview with Yahoo News, Basinger 55, tells the world how "mortified" she is to know that her daughter's 13-16 year old male friends have all seen her private parts. She claims to feel "vulnerable" to know they've...

In one of the more ironic interviews in recent memory, Alec Baldwin last week told local cable news host Dominic Carter that Governor David Paterson should keep the current tax incentives for film and television companies that set up shop in New York. (trashes republicans and evangelicals too) EXCERPT: When Alec Baldwin’s leading man career went down the tubes, he turned to television comedy with some success. Now he’s turned to writing political satire. At least we think it was satire. How else can you explain the article Baldwin wrote the Huffington Post titled, “Hoping the GOP Gets Its Act Together” in which he says, “Rush Limbaugh is an uneducated, marginally talented, overbearing, recovering drug addict who was, at least according to Wikipedia, ineligible for the draft because he had cysts on his ass.”

While Al “Globull Fraud” Gore continues to make the following public statement: "Washington needs a breath of fresh air. Al Franken is a great man, a great activist, and will be a great leader in the U.S. Senate" … it is important to remember the real Al Franken. The fact is Franken has been an unsuccessful hack his entire life. His only “accomplishment” in life was video taping sex with Arianna “The Greek Leona Helmsley” Huffington. Now Franken, and the Democrats-Soros Shadow Party, wants America to believe that “the new Al” is fit to be a U.S. Senator of...

All About Alec - all the time Amazingly little of what has been written about Alec Baldwin’s angry phone message to his daughter has mentioned the inherent narcissism. One only has to go to YouTube and listen to his 2 minute and 15 second rant to have the message that it’s ALL ABOUT ALEC - all the time, come through loud and clear. In the first minute alone he makes 15 references to himself. That’s an average of one self-reference every 4 seconds. The second minute was worse with 20 references to himself, an average of one every 3 seconds....

(CBS) Now that actor Alec Baldwin is 50 years old, he might run for political office. Baldwin talks to 60 Minutes correspondent Morley Safer about that and other aspects of his life, including his very public divorce and custody battle, in a profile to be broadcast this Sunday, May 11, at 7 p.m. ET/PT. A decade ago, Baldwin was interested in politics, but said he was only 39 and all the people who ran the world were in their fifties. Since then, he has publicly dismissed the notion of running for office. A few weeks ago, he changed his mind....

Alec Baldwin is worried that Sen. Hillary Clinton won't do what he thinks is the right thing for children's health. The "30 Rock" star wants the Democratic White House hopeful to vote "no" on the $10 billion farm bill, now before the Senate, that would give subsidies to farmers who provide cheese, sugar and other fattening foods to schools. "As you are well aware, the epidemic of childhood obesity is worsening day by day, leading to higher risks of diabetes, heart disease and several forms of cancer," the actor wrote Monday in a personal letter to Clinton and each of...

Apparently one of the movie roles that Alec Baldwin won't be playing in the future is that of Sherlock Holmes. Baldwin writes an entire Huffington Post blog, Prosecuting Those Responsible For Outing Valerie Plame, without once mentioning the name of the leaker---Richard Armitage. Baldwin starts out with a fantasy about the things he would do if he were play-acting as president: The fifth thing that I would do is to prosecute whoever is responsible for outing Valerie Plame as a CIA agent. At this point you would think that Baldwin would lash out at the leaker, Richard Armitage, or at...

The fourth thing I would do as president would be to pull out of Iraq... but with serious conditions. The US must allow the Iraqis to fight a civil war. We pull out of Iraq, but not out of the area entirely. The US should build, with the help of other nations as well, a coalition base outside of the most dangerous areas in the region. That base should be on the Pakistani border, because the Pakistanis are a shitty ally, are full of bull and need to be watched every moment and their country is a haven for Al...

Alec "the Bloviator" Baldwin has a new bosom buddy: Beltway Republican strategist Grover Norquist. The Bush-bashing actor-turned-activist and the Muslim vote-courting political organizer joined together at a Washington, D.C.-area conference last weekend to perpetuate bald lies about the Patriot Act and to oppose the "repressive" War on Terror (repressing terrorist suspects apparently being a bad thing). Baldwin and Norquist's panel, titled "Strange Bedfellows," was sponsored by the ultraliberal group People For the American Way. When PFAW head and panel participant Ralph Neas ranted about the lack of judicial and congressional oversight of the Justice Department's terror investigations, the audience...

Feminist "mothers" are more than willing to expose their daughters to indecent and even dangerous elements. They will do so for no more of a reason than to simply make a buck. And in doing so they create an interesting comparison for traditional parents who want more than anything to simply spend time with their children. This is the ultimate debate between progressive vs. traditional values, and the children are begging for parents to get it right. This last week amidst the many infamous pieces of audio to emerge in the headlines, none was more reviled than the voice-mail leaked...

Alec Baldwin’s angry, over-the-top voice-mail tirade at his daughter, Ireland, was clearly wrong. Unfortunately, while we’ve been wringing our hands over how bad Baldwin is, we’re ignoring the case’s central truth – Kim Basinger’s well-documented parental alienation campaign against Baldwin. Parental alienation often arises after a divorce, as one angry, vengeful parent tries to turn the children against the other parent, destroying the loving bonds the children and the target parent once enjoyed. Baldwin claims that his outburst occurred in the context of Basinger alienating Ireland and trying to drive him out of his daughter’s life. This claim appears to...

The news keeps getting worse for NBC, which set a low-water mark for prime-time viewership for the second straight week. One week after NBC averaged 6.8 million viewers -- its smallest in-season audience since at least 1987, and probably well before -- the network sank to 6.2 million last week, according to Nielsen Media Research. "They are just in a complete mess," said Marc Berman, a television analyst for Media Week Online. NBC notes that TV viewership in general is lower, with all of the broadcast networks down 10 percent from last year over the past three weeks, and that...

The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public. On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, Ireland, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig." "You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call. April 20, 2007 -- IN a disturbing voice-mail message recorded on April 11, Alec Baldwin called his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, "a rude, thoughtless little pig" after she didn't answer her phone for a court-ordered conversation. Baldwin left a two-minute rant, shouting, "I made an a - - out of myself trying to make this call . . . You have insulted me for the last time. A controversial new public relations campaign by animal-rights group PETA proclaims Jesus Christ to have been a vegetarian, and portrays the Last Supper ? complete with 12 "disciples" including Beatle Paul McCartney and lesbian country-music singer k.d. lang ? as a spectacle meant to inspire mankind to forsake eating meat. The outreach has been built into a 28-foot 1955 Silver Streak Airstream trailer wherein the "Last Supper" is re-created, surrounding Jesus with famous vegetarians, officials of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals told WND. Violent male chimps have provided new insights into the cause of wife beating, holding up a kind of mirror to help scientists understand the roots of domestic violence. Male chimpanzees can be highly aggressive toward female group members, even using branches as clubs to beat them. Research carried out over many years in the Kibale National Park in Uganda now links this to female promiscuity and suggests that there would be more attacks on women if human society was as promiscuous as ape society. However, another conclusion of today’s study is that because men play a role in bringing up...
