Police in Hamburg shut down the notorious al-Quds mosque, renamed the Taiba mosque in 2008, led by German-Syrian national and voluntary imam Mamoun Darkazanli. Darkazanli (a.k.a. DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) -- Syrian security forces clashed on Sunday with militants planning to launch terror attacks in the northern city of Aleppo, the state-run news agency reported. Five people were wounded, including two militants. The SANA news agency also reported for the first time that a separate clash took place last week in Aleppo in which two militants were killed and a third was wounded. Two weeks ago, Turkish police arrested an Islamist with ties to many upper tier al-Qaida members. The man not only tried to get asylum in Germany, but claims to have known about the London bombings beforehand and to have helped the 9/11 pilots.
