  • Federal Appeals Courts Say Illegal Aliens Have No 2nd Amendment Gun Rights

The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals has agreed with the Fifth Circuit Court this week in ruling that Illegal aliens have no right to own or possess a firearm while being here. The Firth Circuit had said earlier that illegal immigrants are not part of the "people" protected by the Second Amendment and have no constitutional right to bear arms. Emmanuel Huitron–Guizar entered a conditional guilty plea to being an illegal alien in possession of firearms. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, and then will be deported when he finishes the sentence. According to the Court's opinion, “Mr....

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick compared Alabama and Arizona immigration policies to McCarthyism and Jim Crow in a speech Monday to students at Tufts University, according to a story on Boston.com. “The actions of various states to take matters into their own hands have been ham-fisted, self-defeating, and even racist,’’ Patrick was quoted as saying. The tone of Patrick’s speech Monday - he called much of the debate surrounding immigration reform “hysterical and poisonous’’ - has struck some state lawmakers and immigration policy specialists as more vehement than previous speeches, the story said. “The public discourse about immigration is as toxic...

As he walked into the Washington Court Hotel today, Sen. Marco Rubio was greeted by members of a business group from Des Moines. "Hopefully you'll see more of Iowa," a woman told him. Rubio laughed. Pictures were taken. Wink, wink. But as he charmed his guests, Rubio also delivered a lengthy and substantive speech about U.S. policy and his vision of American exceptionalism. "If we decline, who rises?" he asked a room full of Democrats and Republicans. A question and answer session that followed pulled out the news of the day when the subjected turned to immigration. Here we go. Ever since Obama took office, opponents of illegal immigration knew it would come to this. This Administration has already dismantled the enforcement regime against illegal aliens. They engineered a unilateral amnesty for nearly 2 million illegal aliens by a stroke of Obama's pen last August. They sued to stop states like Arizona, Alabama and Georgia from enforcing existing immigration laws after the Feds failed to do so. The Attorney General has bullied states like Texas and South Carolina, by blocking voter ID laws designed to stop voter fraud by illegal aliens and others. But no matter what...

The Florida Division of Elections is already working to stem the problem, its spokesman told the Herald. For the past year, the division has joined forces with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to identify potential fraud by rooting out foreigners on the voting rolls, division spokesman Chris Cate said.

Subtly and quickly, the population has exploded, growing 27-fold in the past three decades, to about 183,200 from about 6,740 in 1980, according to census figures. It is now the third-largest immigrant population in the city, after Dominicans and the Chinese. Just when you would think that the far Left Obama booster organization MoveOn.org could not get any more ridiculous, it sinks to ever lower levels of absurdity. The latest example involves MoveOn’s push to render the phrase “illegal aliens” or “illegal immigrants” hate speech. A video posted last week at MoveOn.org’s website charges that calling illegal immigrants “illegal” fits the definition of a hate crime and calls for the word “illegal” to be abolished when describing individuals entering the United States illegally. They would prefer using adjectives such as “undocumented” immigrants or “unauthorized” immigrants.

The Department of Homeland Security, continuing its crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants, has ordered hundreds of companies in recent weeks to submit their hiring records for inspection. This year's first "silent raids" haven't been publicly announced by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the DHS agency that conducts them. But an ICE spokeswoman confirmed on Tuesday that as of March 29, the agency had notified 500 businesses "of all sizes and types" to turn over I-9 employment-eligibility forms and other documents for audits. "These inspections will determine whether or not the businesses are complying with their employment-eligibility verification requirements," said...

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Millions of illegal immigrants are getting a bigger tax refund than you. One of the men accused in last month's kidnapping that police say has ties to the Gulf Cartel was arrested by Brownsville police this weekend for allegedly molesting a child. Brownsville police spokesman J.J. Trevino said police brought Hector Primitivo Salinas, 39, of Brownsville, from the Cameron County jail to the city jail Friday after investigators determined he was wanted in connection with an incident reported in February. Police declined to release the girl's relationship with Salinas or the circumstances surrounding her contact with him. The school...

Mexico has issued the U.S. government what amounts to a diplomatic threat for exonerating a Border Patrol agent who shot an illegal immigrant near the Texas border nearly two years ago after being assaulted with rocks. The shooting occurred in the summer of 2010 when the federal agent, Jesus Mesa, spotted a group of Mexicans crossing the Rio Grande near El Paso. U.S. authorities say Mesa fatally shot a teen (Sergio Hernández-Guereca) traveling with the group in self-defense after the teen and his friends threw rocks at the agent. Last year a Texas judge dismissed a wrongful death lawsuit against...
