Unlike earlier armed conflicts, a large number of those serving today in the U.S. armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan are women. Five such women, stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, recently discussed their experiences overseas in the combat zone. Their job titles and duties range from public affairs within the U.S. Embassy to training Iraqi police as a security forces patrolman.
