The head of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) today welcomed the announcement by President George W. Bush that the United States will rejoin the Paris-based agency. Speaking to the UN General Assembly today, President Bush said, "As a symbol of our commitment to human dignity, the United States will return to UNESCO."
