After days of prayer and fear among Jews and good people everywhere, the horrible reality of the Islamic terrorist rampage in Mumbai was revealed in all its obscene and mindless savagery when members of Zaka entered the Chabad compound. Perhaps it is impossible for the average human being to understand the depth of evil represented by Muslim extremists. As an eyewitness told Ynet, the sight was unbearable even to the practiced eyes of those whose job it is to deal with the aftermath of murderous terror attacks: "The place was totally destroyed. Live grenades were all over the floor. Torah...

There's a definite chill in the air and this cold front comes to us from Canada, where author Mark Steyn finds himself in trouble for speaking his mind. Steyn is a brilliant writer and many of us have been amused (he is often hilarious) and enriched by his commentaries upon our culture in general and, in particular, what awaits us if we don't face up to terrorism. He's written a book on that very subject, America Alone, and this book is a bestseller in America and number one in Canada - and it's also We're all on notice that Big...

One of the baffling issues of this world, one that I can never hope to understand, is why so many on the left support the Palestinian cause against the Israelis. No matter where in history you go back to as a starting point to try to justify the position and rights of one party or the other, any reasonable person sees the hopelessness of any other starting point but the UN action creating the partition into a Jewish state and a Palestinian state in 1947.

[The author, Chezi Goldberg, was murdered by a suicide bomber on Thursday, January 29, 2004. This article was originally printed on Israel National News.com's Opinion page on November 24, 2002.] You know, when one reads the news, it is truly very difficult to understand what is going on when the stories contain names of little towns and villages that the reader is not familiar with. Case in point - El Khader. The suicide scum who blew up a Jerusalem bus last week is reported to have come from El Khader. If you are sitting in Toronto or New York, that...

Apparently not satisfied with the closure of Arutz-7 Radio, Attorney-General Elyakim Rubenstein has instructed the police to launch an investigation against the managers of the Arutz-7 website. Rubenstein said he had looked into and found valid a complaint by MK Zahava Gal'on (Meretz), who claimed that an article entitled, "Expulsion, not Transfer" constituted a violation of laws against incitement. Gal'on honed in on a sentence in an op-ed on Arutz-7's Hebrew site, which she said was a call to "murder hundreds of thousands of Palestinians." Though Arutz-7 does not endorse the opinions it publishes in its op-ed section, it should...

Background: At 1 PM on Monday, October 20, the Jerusalem Magistrates Court silenced Arutz Sheva Israel Radio by declaring that its broadcasts violate legal technicalities. Since that time, numerous listeners of the station and friends of democracy have expressed their support through faxes to government offices, phone calls, signing of various petitions and donations to Arutz Sheva. The management of Arutz Sheva is greatly encouraged by the outpouring of support. As part of the struggle, we are providing below a briefly-worded petition to submit to government offices, members of Knesset, and other relevant agencies calling on the government to...

Our Newspapers Fail Us Editorial - Israel News Agency There is no public relations or public affairs without a carrier. The most established carrier is called a newspaper. And in Israel the only newspapers which enjoy abundant readership and wealth are the Hebrew dailies – Yediot, Maariv and Haaertz. As for the English newspapers here in Israel – one is a mere translation of the Hebrew edition and the other is fifty percent wire service copy. Yes – there are some brilliant writers on these papers but their voices become deluded when you have a lack of proper leadership integrated...

Arutz Sheva published a lexicon of terminology used in its news broadcasts. The collection was written by the head of Arutz Sheva's Hebrew Radio News Department, Haggai Segal. The full English edition of the lexicon appears below. Bear in mind that the lexicon was compiled for the use of Hebrew broadcasters, to an Israeli audience; the Arutz Sheva English department, with additional factors to take into consideration, is sometimes guided more by the spirit of the lexicon than by its actual recommendations. Enjoy! 1. Amman, Ras el-Amud: Sites with a Hebrew name will be thus cited on Arutz-7. Other media...
