"...Austin Hill...you just a racist; you just can’t handle the black man bein’ in charge..." Those remarks were left for me in a voicemail message about six weeks ago. The call was placed to my Blackberry one weekday morning while I was on-air hosting talk radio in Phoenix, Arizona. I don’t know who the woman was that made the call (the "caller i.d." was blocked), and I didn’t recognize the voice. But somebody who had access to my personal mobile number left that message for me at a very strategic time – a time when I was obviously not going...

Michael Moore is releasing a new movie, and I’m sooo excited about it... More about me in a moment. First, the man who brought us Bowling For Columbine and Fahrenheit 9-11 is about to release a new film entitled Capitalism: A Love Story.Just as “Bowling” embodied Moore’s extreme left-wing view that gun rights are bad, and “Fahrenheit” embodied (among other things) the extreme left-wing belief that Iraqis enjoyed Saddam Hussein and President Bush made their lives worse, so also does “Love Story” advance another idea that is popular among American liberals today: capitalism is evil. “Trailers” and “promos” available at...

What are Barack Obama’s objectives? What is he really trying to accomplish, as our President? Our current Commander-In-Chief won the presidency last year with very broad, generalized campaign themes of “hope,” “change,” and to a lesser degree, “transformation. ” He promised a foreign policy that would correct all the “mistakes” of George W. Bush, and an economic policy that would take wealth away from “rich” people and give it to people who were “deserving” of it. Today, after roughly eight months in office, nobody doubts that President Obama has brought about a dramatic level of ”change.” But what is the...

What if a health care bill actually passes in the Congress, and President Obama signs it into law? Given the ways in which his “hope” and “change” are being embraced across the nation right now, such a legislative “victory” for Mr. Obama could be the worst thing, politically, for his presidency and his party. Earlier this year, I contemplated here in this column how Obama’s behavior tends to be woefully inconsistent with his rhetoric, and how our President has a propensity for “doing the opposite” of what he says. For example, as a candidate Obama insisted that he is not...

Could you be on President Obama’s “enemies list” and not even know it? If you dare to disagree with him, you might be. Just to be clear, the allegation that President Obama has been compiling an “enemies list” was officially raised last Thursday by Senator John Cornyn of Texas. Left-wing bloggers were quick to determine that Senator Cornyn is crazy, and to dismiss the entire incident, yet the White House regarded Cornyn’s remarks seriously enough that by Friday, it was responding to Cornyn and insisting that he is wrong. So what was the “incident?“ By now you’ve probably...

Quick - - what do you know about the country of Kenya? That’s the country with the world’s greatest GDP, low inflation and stable employment - - right? Well, no. In 2008, the United States had the greatest GDP of any individual country in the world (it came in second behind the 27 nations of the European Union), whereas Kenya produced the world’s 82nd largest GDP. Kenya endured an annual inflation rate of 9.7% in 2008 (current inflation figures for Kenya are unavailable), while the United States recently posted an inflation rate of .1%. And while the United States is...

North Korea's latest threats must be stopped before they become a direct threat to the United States, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said Thursday. McCain told guest host Austin Hill on News/Talk 92-3 KTAR's "Ankarlo Mornings" that the world has let North Korea coast long enough. "The days of accommodating this whacko Kim Jong Il and this most repressive and oppressive regime on earth -- 200,000 people in their prison system -- are over," McCain said. "They have nuclear weapons, they have missiles. It's a matter of time before they match a nuclear weapon with a missile, and that could pose...

It’s not about you. It doesn’t matter who “you” are. It’s no longer about your rights as an individual, or the on-going need to safeguard the rights of all individuals. No, at this stage in the American story, It is now about Barack Obama’s need to save everybody, and, thus, it is the “collective good” that matters. It is now clear that President Obama is on a mission to convert the U.S. to “collectivism.” This, presumably, was part of what he was conveying during his campaign, when he promised “change” for America.

Does President Obama want the U.S. economy to decline further? Or is he just simply naïve about what is required to make the economy grow, and about the differences between “good“ and “bad“ economic policy? I’ve pondered these questions several times since January 20th, not only in the column I write here for this publication, but on talk radio, and in columns published elsewhere. And in light of the President’s behavior within the past ten days, the questions are worth reviewing again. Back in February and March I began stating - - in writing and on talk radio - -...

Perhaps they just don’t want to think through the details. Then again - - maybe some of them don’t have the capacity to think through the details. I’m referring to the apparent plethora of partisan, passionate, “see-no-evil” Obama minions, who become outraged should any of the rest of us ask questions about the forty-fourth President. I continually encounter the minions both as callers on talk radio, and as mailers responding to my various editorial columns. Whereas last year during the election cycle when I would dare to ask questions of the dear leader Obama, the minions’ first line of attack...

President Barack Obama has no intention of helping to grow the United States economy. On the contrary, he is doing everything a President can do to weaken it. I know that sounds harsh. Maybe it seems outrageously “partisan.” Maybe it just seems outrageous. But after roughly ten weeks, Obama has consistently proposed ideas and plans (and in one case signing legislation) that will weaken the U.S. economy, not strengthen it. To attempt to view this man through the lenses of American prosperity, and to evaluate him with the same assumptions with which the behavior of other modern-day Presidents has been...

“…There's a moral and an ethical aspect to this, as well…I think the most important thing that we can do is make sure that we put in a bunch of financial regulatory mechanisms to prevent companies like an AIG holding the rest of us hostage. Because that's –- that's the real problem….” - President Barack Obama, speaking on the AIG corporate bailout controversy withTalk Show Host Jay Leno, March 19, 2009It is noteworthy that President Obama chose to speak of “moral and ethical concerns” during his appearance on the “Tonight Show” last week. The President is correct. The relationship between...

Welcome to the Era of Obama. You now have a duty to die. I'm not saying that someday you will die (that's a given). And I'm not saying that you should be given the "right to die" - - the freedom to take your own life, or to direct your Doctor to put you out of your misery - - that's something entirely different. I'm saying that someday, if current trends continue, your United States Government will determine that you have a “duty,” an obligation, to die. It’s bad enough that hundreds of congressional members voted to spend nearly one...

The bad news is that it’s as ugly as many of us expected it would be. The good news is that Americans are questioning it, and in many cases, rejecting it. The “it” I’m referring to is the huge expansion of governmental power in Washington. It’s the kind of power that was promised from candidate Obama - - and, of course, it was promised to be all for our own good - - and is now been wielded by his fellow Democrats in Congress and by his administration. And for those who truly believe that government employees and agencies can...

It seems like a classic “do as I say, not as I do” scenario. Last August, when Republican presidential nominee John McCain couldn’t answer a reporter when asked how many houses he owned (“I’m not sure, I’ll have to check with my staff” was McCain’s response), candidate Obama and his fellow Democrats were quick to seize the moment. Portraying McCain‘s foible as evidence that his lifestyle was “out of touch“ with “everyday Americans,” Obama said before an audience in Virginia: “….Now think about that….There’s just a fundamental gap of understanding between John McCain’s world, and what people are going through...

Does America make terrorists hate and kill? Is it time for the United States to ‘befriend” Hamas? Last Thursday, a report emerged from England that President-elect Obama is planning to open up “low level” contact with Hamas, and that such contact will likely be initiated through U.S. intelligence channels. Suzanne Goldenberg, a journalist with the Washington, DC bureau of the UK’s “Guardian” publication, reported that the forthcoming Obama Administration wishes to abandon President Bush’s policy of isolating Hamas, believing that this policy has failed to produce desirable results. Without getting sidetracked, I must point out that this is the third...

Someone in the world of editorial columns recently predicted that a “bailout backlash” would begin in the year 2010. Could we arrange for that backlash to get started a little sooner - - like, now? It’s understandable if Americans aren’t paying attention to the machinations of government at the moment. Most of us just wrapped-up a somewhat anxious holiday season, and gladly said goodbye to a difficult 2008. But the new Congress launches this week, and the new President takes office in less than three weeks. And if you’ve been angered by the ways the current President and Congress have...

Viewing the United States through the eyes of a foreign national is one thing. And viewing the United States through the eyes of foreign media professionals is another thing. So as we close-out 2008, and begin a new year with the soon-to-be President Obama, the view from the “foreign news desk” may shed some light on some of the ways in which the world misunderstands both our country, and our President-elect. I don’t have any “McCain scandal” to tell. No tabloid-style inside scoop about John McCain and Sarah Palin squabbling behind the scenes on election night, or Palin’s daughter’s boyfriend’s...

"John McCain has decided to run for George Bush's third term, and we can't afford it." If Barack Obama stated that once during his campaign, he stated it hundreds of times. And the fact that Senator McCain had alienated his own party by being a thorn in Bush’s side for much of the past eight years didn’t matter. It was a clever way for Obama to label McCain during the campaign, and by all indications, it worked. So now, what are we to make of the return of the Clinton gang to Washington? As one liberal blogger noted, “Barack Obama...

"Promote then as an object of primary importance, Institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened." George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796 On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama's limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple... the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job. On...

Is the United States about to face a constitutional challenge? As we near completion of the first two weeks since Barack Obama’s election to the presidency, the path is being established for what I believe could be a serious challenge to the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, and the right to free speech that is protected therein. Any American who cares about such freedoms should be watching and listening very carefully. Unfortunately, it appears to me that most Americans are not. As of late, much attention has been paid to the possibility of our federal government re-instating the...

Can this year's presidential race end peacefully? Earlier this year (July 20th to be precise) I published a column entitled “If Obama Loses In November, Will America Suffer?” In it, I referenced the many things that were being said and written about the historical and cultural significance of Obama’s candidacy (especially the many things that Obama has written about his “life’s journey,” and the extraordinary declarations that he has made about his own historical significance). I then contemplated what might happen if, despite all the “significance” of his candidacy, Obama were to actually lose the election. As I pointed out...

Why has a guy named Joe from Holland, Ohio, been a hot topic among the two dominant presidential campaigns? Could it be that there are millions of other Americans just like him, and we pose a challenge for politicians of all stripes - - especially Democrats? Of course, I’m referring to Joe Wurzelbacher, the plumber from Ohio who, caught on video questioning Barack Obama about his tax hike plans on October 11th, was told by the Senator that “when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." Since the publicizing of that video on Youtube Dot Com, Joe has...

Last night, during Austin Hill's radio show on 630 WMAL in Washington, DC, a caller named Max from Arlington (VA) called in suggesting that Americans grab their plungers (a sanitized one, please!) and march at the Washington Mall with plungers in hand and in support of John McCain and Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber -- and to reject the Democratic Congress and also Barack Obama and his absurd tax policies. I thought it was an excellent call and a great idea! E-mail Austin at the link provided if you're interested in this.

Is it time for America to “get even” with “rich people?” It may have been yet another one of a long line of his famous political gaffes, but Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden spelled-out the Obama-Biden economic plan with shameless clarity and candor. In a recent interview on ABC-TV’s “Good Morning America,” Senator Biden said, “We want to take money and put it in the pockets of the middle class peop...” Do we need any further explanation? For the entire nineteen months of his presidential campaign, Barack Obama has been crossing the country, fanning the flames of resentment towards people...

The difference between going through a Sunday as a married woman versus as a single gal is striking. First of all, in my single hood days in D.C., I’d be arriving back at my condo in the wee hours of the morning and would sleep and nurse a hangover for the rest of the day. As a married woman and mom in suburban Maryland, my Sundays are quiet and mainly consist of doing things with my family or around the house. However, during football season my husband and son normally get involved with sports and “NFL Sunday” for the whole day, giving me precious time to myself. During this “precious time”, I read the newspapers, watch news programs on T.V. and other media, and listen to talk radio for the entire afternoon and evening. Until recently.

So now that you know that the rest of the world loves Obama, how about you? I raised that question last Thursday night on my radio talk show at Washington, DC’s 630 WMAL, albeit rather facetiously. Despite what the forces at CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Rueters, The New York Times, and “CNN International” may want me to believe, I don’t assume that “the world loves Obama,” anymore than I assume that “the world hates Bush.” But now that the week of cathartic revelry is behind us and the excitement has subsided a little bit, it’s time for some reflection....

What will happen if, on election night in November, John McCain wins the presidency? Will it necessarily be determined that Obama’s defeat is the result of a conspiracy? A fraud? Or something worse? Much has been said and written in recent months about the historical and cultural significance of the Obama nomination, and the would-be Obama presidency. Obama, himself, seems to place no limits on his own historical and cultural significance. At age 46, he has already authored two books - - both are about himself - - and the securing of his party’s nomination marked, according to him, the...

Barack Obama has weighed-in on the issue of reinstating the so-called “Fairness Doctrine.” After being repeatedly questioned about the candidate’s position, campaign Press Secretary Michael Ortiz stated in an email message that “Senator Obama does not support re-imposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters.” This position could be yet another one of those “deeply-held convictions” that Obama believes in unequivocally, similar to his long-held position on campaign finance reform. In January of 2007, Obama stated in a CNN interview with Larry King that the public-financing system “works.” Later that year, Mr. Obama challenged Republican presidential candidates to join him in limiting...

Barack Obama succumbed to Muslim demands. It started at a campaign event that Obama held last Monday, at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena. There have been very few news reports about this matter, but they all seem to point to a consistent turn of events. Before the event kicked-off, a campaign staffer (who apparently was female and black, should anybody care) approached two young men in the crowd and asked if they’d like to sit up on the platform, and appear behind Obama while he was speaking from the podium. As the two guys accepted the invitation, one of them asked...

All right, 630 WMAL fans! Here's the latest scoop from the DCRTV.org blog [i.e. "rag"]-- Hannity To 3WT? TNT's Talkers To MAL & 3WT? - 6/3 - When we asked a top 3WTer about whether the Bonneville talker was talking to afternoon righty talk radio icon Sean Hannity, we were met with dead silence. Republican presidential nominee John McCain did the “the Hollywood thing” again. Appearing on the syndicate “Ellen DeGeneres Show” last Thursday, McCain showcased himself , his presidential candidacy, and his good-natured sense of humor before Ellen’s nationwide daytime television audience. Unfortunately, the only portion of the program that got attention beyond its original “airing” was the very few minutes that Ellen quizzed McCain about homosexual marriage - - the “elephant in the living room,” as she called it. And these few moments were some of the most awkward McCain moments I’ve ever seen. Let’s understand who we’re talking about. This is...

He was a character created by Actor Garrett Morris on the “Saturday Night Live” TV show, back in the 1970’s. Morris became famous for uttering these simple words in broken-English, with a Spanish-sounding accent: “Beisbol …been bery bery good to me …” “Chico” was a fictitious professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic. He barely spoke English, but loved the fact that he was able to leave his impoverished homeland and come to the United States, where he was paid quite handsomely to play ball. And each time “Weekend Update” Anchor Jane Curtain would introduce Chico on the news set...
