The Obama administration will release 5 million barrels of sour crude from the United States’ emergency stockpile in what officials described as a “test” of the nation’s ability to respond to oil supply disruptions around the globe.

BAIT & SWITCH - Booked 7 day Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean on Cruise.com for $1,108 for 4 passengers. I clicked the "Agree & Book" after entering all our personal info, including passports. Got a call saying they sold out and wanted to sell me 2 cabins for over $1,300 each, $2600. They told me they cruise line must have just sold out so I kept them on the phone and booked it again at the same rate, same results. Tells me it's computer glitch they've been dealing with all morning.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced Thursday that the U.S. and its partners in the International Energy Agency will release 60 million barrels of oil onto the world market over the next 30 days to offset the disruption in the oil supply caused by unrest in the Middle East. The U.S. will release 30 million barrels of oil from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The SPR is currently at a historically high level with 727 million barrels, according to the Energy Department. “We are taking this action in response to the ongoing loss of crude oil due to supply disruptions in...

Even little kids know when they've been had. Like the little girl in the bank commercial who gets a tiny plastic pony while the other little girl gets a real pony, and the little boy who gets the cardboard truck, most Americans think President Barack Obama is hiding behind the fine print in his incomprehensible health care plan. It's why Obama's poll numbers are dropping faster than the faces of the kids in the commercials. Obama's presidential approval index is now at minus 6; 32 percent strongly approve of him and 38 percent strongly disapprove. Since his inauguration, his job...
  • ACORN "Front Group" Playing OBAMACARE Games In South Carolina?

ACORN is more than the Criminal Enterprise trying to water down the effect of your vote by adding thousands of unqualified people to the voting rolls. It is also a political organization, pushing its agenda where it sees there is a potential for making money. Before “subprime” became a crisis, ACORN was active in the mortgage market, fighting in support of the policies that helped lay the groundwork for the banking collapse of 2008. ACORN lobbied legislators and banks to ensure that any person, regardless of credit history, income, or assets, would qualify for a mortgage. They mastered the art...

Source: Clement Not Bush's Choice for High Court Source Tells ABC News Much-Discussed Potential Candidate Isn't the White House's Choice for Supreme Court Jul. 19, 2005 - Judge Edith Clement -- perceived by many observers as a potential frontrunner for the Supreme Court seat vacated by Justice Sandra Day O'Connor -- is not President Bush's choice for the high court. An informed source told ABC News they had spoken with Clement and said she received a phone call from the White House this afternoon. According to the source, Clement was thanked for meeting with the president and sharing her views...

Looking for a unique way to support the fight against animal abuse? The British founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the world's biggest animal rights group, is auctioning off a lizard tattoo on her right arm -- with proceeds going to the charity. Billed as "waterproof and weathered" and "suitable for making into a wallet or watch strap," the tattoo is being offered on Web site eBay to draw attention to the plight suffered by skinned animals. "It's the only skin you can wear and use with the express permission of the original owner," said Ingrid...
  • Globalism, Neo-Tribalism And False Reality

Brock Chisolm, former Director of the (United Nations) World Health Organization, is quoted as saying, "To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men, their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas." [GWB quote of the day, 7/7/1999]. Remove from the minds of men? Doesn't that sound like mental conditioning? How does that square with the Alexander Downer/Tim Fischer version of globalism as freer markets? It doesn't, does it? Some years ago another hero of the globalist-Left, B.F.Skinner, in his book Beyond Freedom and Dignity, mounted a concerted attack on what he...

HAVING IT EVERY WHICH WAY: The Torricelli bait-and-switch with Lautenberg is almost a leitmotif of the current Democratic Party. So what if we fully backed a guy we knew was a crook when we thought he could win? Now he can't win! So .... The same heads-we-win tails-you-lose posture is evident on the budget ("the tax cut is the problem - but we won't reverse it, in case the voters punish us") and the war ("we're against it in reality, but we're for it formally, in case the voters punish us"). But tonight I heard the first enunciation of what's...
