Ailing Retail Giant Sponsors Hamas-Linked Islamist Group, Refuses to Rule Out Future Funding to Islamic Radicals Think again before buying your next flat-screen television or computing device from Best Buy. The struggling retail giant recently used profits from American consumers to fund the annual banquet of a group closely linked to Hamas. The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) recently listed Best Buy as a "Platinum Sponsor." Best Buy has refused to rule out future support for CAIR through numerous messages to its public relations department. The big box retailer is already in chaos amid the recent...

A scathing critique of Islam from within. Interview with Ibn Warraq, the man the NY Sun called "the Bertrand Russel of Islam: "The Ayatollah Khomeini once said that there are no jokes in Islam". You'd better believe it. Prior to 2007, Ibn Warraq refused to show his face in public due to fears for his personal safety. With “Why I Am Not A Muslim”, his 1995 most famous book, he became Islam’s most outspoken critic and the mentor of personalities such as Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Christopher Hitchens. The New York Sun called him “the Bertrand Russell of Islam”, while...

Global warming has re-entered public consciousness in recent days, partly because of the buzz surrounding the release of warming results from the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature (BEST) project. The reaction of the "warmistas" has been jubilant, yet hilariously wrong. Will they ever learn? They've latched on to the BEST result as their last best hope for rescuing misbegotten schemes to control emissions of the greenhouse gas CO2. Leading the pack has been the Washington Post (Oct. 25), whose columnist tried to write off Republican presidential candidates Bachmann, Cain, and Perry as "cynical diehards," deniers, idiots, or whatever. I sent the...

It is clear there is nothing like a consensus about who should be the Republican Candidate for President. We all know the people who should really be in the job don't want to take a pay cut and put up with the slanderous treatment by the MSM. Is it time for the process to change? We have the technology to do some amazing things. Can we run an internal poll and decide what potential candidate would be the best possible person to lead the country. I am convinced it would be none of the above (current candidates running). Anyone think...

"A story breaking in the UK contends that results obtained by the prof's BEST (Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures) project team, instead of "settling the debate" in favor of warmists, showed that global warming "has stopped." If so, this is potentially as explosive as the "hide the decline" conspiracy uncovered almost two years ago when the Climategate emails surfaced."
-
New data on global temperature trends sheds light on the 2009 climate change scandal. Climategate erupted into public with the release in November 2009 of thousands of emails sent to and from researchers associated with the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia. It became a scandal because some of the emails seemed to suggest that prominent climate researchers may have fiddled with historical climate data with the goal of making recent increases in global average temperature look worse than it is. Suspicion was cast on three sets of historical temperature data, Hadley Centre/CRU series, the NASA...

It was hailed as the scientific study that ended the global warming debate once and for all – the research that, in the words of its director, ‘proved you should not be a sceptic, at least not any longer’. Professor Richard Muller, of Berkeley University in California, and his colleagues from the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures project team (BEST) claimed to have shown that the planet has warmed by almost a degree centigrade since 1950 and is warming continually. Published last week ahead of a major United Nations climate summit in Durban, South Africa, next month, their work was...

Just in case the broad speculator public did not get the message earlier this week after the CME lowered ES margins, just in time for the market to sell off and send realized vol surging (while of course ignoring plunging vol in gold, silver and all other commodities), the CME has completed the "paint by Rahmian numbers" puzzle, and has made clear which other asset class has the investment "go ahead" by the administration. As of a few minutes ago, the initial and outright margins for 10Y and 30 Y Treasury Bond Futures, 10 Year On The Runs, 7 Year...

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz keeps the hits coming. There are two ways to approach chairmanship of the Republican and Democratic National Committees. The current RNC chair, Reince Priebus, avoids the spotlight and focuses on managerial tasks. His name has been added to the spelling-check libraries of ten thousand word processors, but the man himself remains enigmatic. The other approach is to enter the media arena as a full-contact political combatant, a kind of “super-candidate” who carries the banner of the entire party into rhetorical battle. Priebus’ predecessor, Michael Steele, played it that way. The results were… mixed. Steele’s high-profile stumbles during media...

Though he is stepping away from the podium, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has certainly made his mark during his two-year tenure as the White House mouthpiece. (Gibbs will be replaced by Jay Carney, communications director for Vice President Joe Biden.) Besides his professional responsibilities as the go-between for the Obama administration and the press corps, Gibbs will also be remembered for his devotion to Auburn football, his mix of pastel ties and his Southern charm. (Of course, he wasn’t always polite - who can forget the foot-in-the door moment in India?) In honor of his departure, POLITICO has...

This will go over well with the conservative base… If you thought the fact that RNC Chair candidate, Maria Cino, was an Obamacare lobbyist was outrageous wait until you hear the latest… The leading candidate in the race – Reince Priebus‘s law firm supports Obamacare and says its constitutional! Yes, you read that correctly. Reince Priebus’s law firm supports Obamacare and says its constitutional. Unbelievable.

The volume control, which has been iffy for a year, finally quit working at all on our old "little" HD TV in the living room. We need a new TV rather quickly, and I am overwhelmed both by the offers around online AND the desires of certain young family members. This should be in the 40s, inchwise, great quality so we don't have to buy one in the near future again, and good for watching movies, TV, sports, Netflix/other computer applications, and serious video gaming. Basically everything! What would you get, or what have you recently purchased that you like?

Ten best political lies you've been toldBy Brian Clarey Wednesday, August 18, 2010 We are no. 1 It’s bearing down on election time again, and as the selfinterested moonbats — uh, sorry, candidates — jockey for advantage, they’re gonna tell some whoppers. One you might hear from the conservative faction is that the US doesn’t need to change anything because we’re already the greatest country in the world. Now, I like living here as much as the next guy, but the numbers just don’t bear out. We are No. 29 in life expectancy, No. 17 in women’s rights, No. 32...

If you focus only on the averages, life in the typical American town frankly doesn't seem so hot right now. The median home continues to lose value. Cash-strapped state and local governments are cutting services. And unemployment, at 9.3%, is still high. But those bummer statistics obscure one important-and encouraging-fact: There are plenty of outliers. MONEY found them through its annual search for the best places in America, which this year focused on the nation's small cities (those with populations of 50,000 to 300,000). Reporters crunched reams of data to find the optimal combo of job opportunities, fiscal strength, top-notch...

London, England (CNN) -- Bindi Dupouy, an Australian living in Paris, and her French husband, just had their first child, a son born in the country. Dupouy, a 28-year-old lawyer, got almost five months paid maternity leave from her company for the birth. She can take another seven months off beyond that -- a year total -- unpaid, if she wants, with her job guaranteed under French law. When her son Louis was born, healthy and by way of a normal delivery, she got to stay in her local French hospital, around the corner from where she lives, for five...

WASHINGTON — A Washington watchdog has filed a complaint against Louisiana Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu, suggesting she may have traded her influence on a specific earmark for $30,000 in campaign contributions. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington on Tuesday demanded the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. district courts in Louisiana and Texas investigate whether Landrieu, who is in her second term, broke federal law back in 2001 by including a $2 million earmark in the District of Columbia appropriations bill for a company whose lobbyists had thrown her a fundraiser just days earlier. That event, held four days...

May through July saw the stirrings of renewed conservative momentum! In Part I of this review of 2009 we traced the early signs of crumbling of the Obama fantasy. The unraveling of what Bill Clinton called the "Fairy Tale" of Obama began shortly after he took office. By mid march, many conservatives and GOP pundits who got caught up in "hoax and chains" were already admitting their mistake. Soon, moderates and independent voters who were key to Obama's election victory would begin deserting as it became all too clear they felt he ran as a centrist but was governing as a...

Boycott Best Buy! From IBA: Three years ago, electronics retail giant Best Buy was in the middle of the "War on Christmas" controversy. A company spokeswoman - Dawn Bryant - announced they would not use the word "Christmas" in their advertising: "We are going to continue to use the term holiday because there are several holidays throughout that time period, and we certainly need to be respectful of all of them." Hmm... so mentioning "Christmas" in its advertising is somehow disrespectful of other holidays? They have since started using the word Christmas in some ads - but it's very limited....

We were out on my friend's back porch the other night. Unfortunately, discussion led into politics. During our discussion we all agreed that this administration is making A LOT of bad decisions. However, we started to discuss if the Obama administration were just a bunch of people doing what they thought was BEST for the country. I said, "No, I believe this group knows exactly what they are doing and it's to take control of this country and take all the wealth....they are doing this intentionally". Well, it got a bit heated and my buddy kept saying that they were...

Assorted TV commentators keep opining that the Olympics are all about the brotherhood of man, rather than national ambition or patriotism. But don't tell that to the fanatically nationalist Chinese -- or to Kobe Bryant, the NBA star who is playing with Team USA in Beijing. WHAT DID JESUS BRING OUT IN PEOPLE? This has been an interesting topic for me much of my life. I've pondered it long and hard. But what are your opinions, perspectives, convictions, observations? Some might think that on the face of it, it would be an easy question to answer. Jesus--perfect Love, Wisdom, Gentleness, Kindness . . . must have always brought out the Best in people--in all He met. Sounds lauditory. Sounds kosher. But what does the historical record indicate? Was it the same for all people? All types of people? All personalities? People of all value orientations? Were...

WASHINGTON, Nov. 26, 2007 – The best way to confront Iran’s nuclear weapons program is through international diplomatic pressure, and military force should remain a last resort, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said today at Kansas State University. Gates told participants in the Landon Lecture series in Manhattan, Kan., he supports diplomatic pressure to get Iran to abandon its nuclear efforts. “We are engaged in diplomacy with Iran,” he said. “More importantly, we are engaged in diplomacy with a number of countries around the world and trying to secure their support for economic sanctions to bring pressure on the...

No schedules. No mandatory meetings. Inside Best Buy's radical reshaping of the workplace --- At most companies, going AWOL during daylight hours would be grounds for a pink slip. Not at Best Buy. The nation's leading electronics retailer has embarked on a radical--if risky--experiment to transform a culture once known for killer hours and herd-riding bosses. The goal at Best Buy is to judge performance on output instead of hours. Hence workers pulling into the company's amenity-packed headquarters at 2...

Socialism is best because under socialism. No one has to worry about being poor or starving to death. No one is poor, unemployed, discriminated, everyone is equal reguardless or race or creed. Today such ideas are condemned as evil. Any attempt to protest against slavery and genocide and human rights violations are met with the cries of COMMUNISM!
