Portland reporter Mike Bivins was arrested on Saturday over alleged attacks of vandalism and arson at houses of worship, according to the Portland Police Bureau. Michael E. Bivins, 34, of Portland, Oregon was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center early Saturday. Bivins was charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, and arson in the first degree. April 27, 2005 -- A group of teenage girls accused of a racially motivated attack on six Catholic schoolgirls have been offered a deal that could land them in jail for up to a year and a half. A Newark man charged with stabbing to death a 15-year-old lesbian in one of the state's first bias murder cases pleaded guilty yesterday to aggravated manslaughter in a deal that could net him as little as 20 years in prison. Richard McCullough, who also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and bias intimidation, appeared reluctant to admit guilt in the May 2003 killing.
