Rep. Weiner To Wolf Blitzer: ‘I Hope My Marriage Survives Our First Anniversary’by Matt Schneider | 5:09 pm, June 1st, 2011 Earlier today Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner spoke with Luke Russert on MSNBC, and now Weiner continued his round of interviews with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. However, it remains up for debate whether Weiner’s interviews are adding fuel to the fire or helping him to extinguish the controversy. Weiner reiterated his belief that his whole Twitter ordeal was nothing more than a prank and is definitely not a federal case. He attempted to laugh it off, saying “when you’re named Weiner,...

RUSH: You know, I made a joke on this program yesterday. This was the joke. RUSH ARCHIVE: Castro knows that there's an opening at CNN. You know, Larry King is gonna quit his job, well, retire sometime this fall. A lot of names have been thrown into the mix at CNN. Ryan Seacrest is one, Piers Morgan is another, Katie Couric, and now Castro obviously with this speech is auditioning for CNN. I mean, hell, if CNN will hire Client No. 9, Eliot Spitzer -- who has zilch, zero, nada experience hosting a television show or any kind of media...

All this week CNN has been taking a look at “Broken Government” and in some cases the cable channel deviated from the mainstream media norm by providing a critical view of government. That was the case on Feb. 23 when Wolf Blitzer and Lisa Sylvester scrutinized lavish pension-plan and retirement-packages for government officials during “The Situation Room.” “Many Americans will spend half a lifetime or more working for the same company only to find little or no safety-net when that job ends,” Blitzer said to begin the report. “Others, especially those on Capitol Hill don’t have that problem.” “This is...

Here is video of CNN's Wolf Blitzer today saying he believes the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts has been a real "alarm bell" for President Obama, and has caused a "change" in Obama, making him more aggressive toward his critics. Blitzer made the remarks as he was asked about a "change" in Obama by Rick Sanchez. . . . (VIDEO)

Here is video of CNN's Lou Dobbs talking with Wolf Blitzer last night about his revelation that shots were fired at his wife and home about three weeks ago. Dobbs was ending his show and passing it off to Blitzer when Blitzer asked Dobbs about the reports. Dobbs said the incident followed months of "threatening phone calls," and were a result of his position on "illegal immigration." Dobbs told Blitzer the New Jersey Patrol is investigating the attack, and he could not say much about it. He also praised CNN Security since the incident, saying they have been "babysitting" him....

On Sunday, I wrote about how pleased I was to see "Saturday Night Live" taking on President Obama with almost the same intensity that it satirically took on President Bush, Senator McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin last fall. While I thought the impersonation could use some work, I felt the writing was excellent, and did a fine job of challenging President Obama in a way that much of the mainstream media haven't. Well, along comes CNN fact-checking the satire -- something they didn't do last fall when such satire was shredding Palin and Bush..... more

CNN is receiving criticism, of many different kinds from many different places, for a segment Monday on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." The segment "fact-checked" a Saturday Night Live sketch. The sketch, which has been deemed the show's first viral hit of the season, cataloged Pres. Obama's supposed lack of accomplishments. The Wall Street Journal's James Taranto called the idea "a bizarre exercise." The Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik wrote, "Fact checking a comedy sketch -- I will say no more." FNC's Greg Gutfeld showed the clip on Red Eye and joked, "Seriously, reviewing an 'SNL' skit for accuracy is...

It was a rough night for CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Thursday night's "Jeopardy!" The "Situation Room" anchor came in last — and even in the red before Final Jeopardy — and lost to Dana Delany and Andy Richter.

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer did not look so happy as he competed with actress Dana Delany and comedian Andy Richter in a round of “Celebrity Jeopardy.” The photo shows the scores at the end of the first two rounds. For “Final Jeopardy,” Alex Trebek was nice and wiped out that nasty negative number, credited him with $1,000 and Wolf nailed that final answer with the correct question.

RNC Chairman Michael Steele shot back at CNN’s Wolf Blitzer after the anchor tried to smear conservatives with racism on Wednesday’s Situation Room. The CNN anchor pointed out a racist sign at a Tea Party, and Steele replied, “Don’t hold up one person as an example of behavior by everyone.” [audio clips from the segment are available here]. Blitzer brought up supposed racism at Tea Parties: “You have to admit, if you take a look at some of those rallies, there were some really racist pictures out there...pictures of the President of the United States as an African witch doctor,...

Begala calls Palin 'about half a whack job' Posted: August 14th, 2009 07:15 PM ET From CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby WASHINGTON (CNN) — Longtime Democratic strategist Paul Begala hammered former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday — calling her "flaky and an intellectual lightweight." Begala was asked on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer" to respond to a Politico story in which former House Speaker Newt Gingrich outlined several ways for Palin to repair her image. Although Begala called Gingrich "a brilliant political strategist," he said giving advice to Palin is an exercise in futility. "Here's the problem,"...

Here is video of America-hating comedian Bill Maher this afternoon talking with CNN's Wolf Blitzer and saying she would not put it past Palin to have a future in politics "in this stupid country" (see 1:44 mark of the video). Blitzer followed up later after a break by telling Maher they were getting emails asking him to clarify what he meant by saying America is a "stupid country" (see 4:32 mark of video). He said "I don't need to clarify. It is." Maher said the fact that Sarah Palin could be President proves his point. "This country just gets dumber...

A one-time aide to former Vice President Dick Cheney suggested Sunday that recent reports about Cheney and the CIA are a distraction designed to avert attention away from the policy struggles of the Obama administration. “This is very suspect timing,” Republican strategist and former Cheney adviser Mary Matalin said Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union. “The president’s agenda is almost in shambles. His [poll] numbers are dropping. Isn’t it coincidental; they gin up a Cheney story.” Matalin also said that the Executive branch has some authority under the nation’s intelligence laws to not disclose information to Congress under certain...

On CNN within the last hour, Wolf Biltzer slipped in some interesting and potentially important news about what federal prosecutors might and might not have on Jesse Jackson Jr., who today was all but confirmed by his lawyer to be Senate Candidate 5. Talking to legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, Blitzer said that according to law enforcement sources, Pat Fitzgerald's office does not have recordings of Jackson himself speaking to Rod Blagojevich as part of the US Attorney's investigation into the governor. If true, that would be significant, because the indictment filed yesterday against the governor quotes him telling an aide...

On Tuesday's Situation Room, CNN host Wolf Blitzer tried to downplay the significance of the arrest of the Democratic governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich by making an unequivocal statement about Republicans: "You know, most of the scandals -- most of the political scandals...in recent years have involved Republicans...and they're all pretty well-known." He continued by labeling the Democrat’s apprehension a "huge embarrassment." Blitzer made the remark to Karen Finney, the communications director for the Democratic National Committee, during the regular "Strategy Session" segment. Finney appeared with Republican strategist John Feehery, and the three discussed the political implications of Blagojevich's arrest....

On his Sunday show today, Blitzer interviewed the new President of Pakistan. He showed bias in his choice of only a film clip of Palin's interview statement on Pakistan. No similar clip from Obama.

We got a bunch of excited e-mails about this leading me to think it was some sort of O’Reilly/Geraldo nuclear exchange. It’s okay — perfectly righteous about not turning Bristol Palin into some sort of springboard for a venal talking-head debate on abstinence education, but cordial and low key. The real outrage, as you’ll see, is CNN bringing up the pregnancy rumors about Palin herself as an intro to the Bristol piece. Here’s how easy it would have been for them to check that before going on air with it. Stay classy, CNN. That clip and the Bennett clip are...

I just watched the most amazing bit of TV in decades - I cannot wait to see the YouTube version of it. Wolf Ditzer (aka Blitzer) was hosting Gloria Berger, Bill Bennet, Donna Brazille an John King (I believe) on The Situation Room and were discussing young Bristol Palin’s (Governor Palin’s oldest daughter) pregnancy and her plans to have the baby and marry the father. At the center of this discussion was Barack Obama’s call to keep the families (and these personal decisions) off limits. But what does CNN do? They air a woman reporter who ran to Alaska questioning...

Wolfie went to his female reporter in Alaska investigating the Palin pregnancy. They were there to investigate whether Twig was the daughters child and this came out today. She said she was also their to investigate the "trooper gate" scandal. She went back to Wolfie and Bill Bennett said this was disgusting and pretty low, even for CNN. He was pretty mad and looked like he wanted to pop Wolfie. Donna Brazil said it was a personal matter, but ok to investigate.

From the CNN transcript........ There's going to be some damage, but not nearly as significant as a more significant earthquake would have caused.

So, there I was, sitting at a local Mexican food joint enjoying my nachos and sweet tea. Nothing like Tex-Mex to finish off a great day. That's when I turned my attention to a TV on the wall on which CNN's Wolf Blitzer was talking to Jack Cafferty. Cafferty had asked viewers a question and wanted an email response. The question? "What does it mean that Barack Obama has opened up a double digit lead over John McCain?" The responses are not important. What is important, however, is that in the entire program, Jack does not mention the Gallup poll...

In the wake of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, Wolf Blitzer of CNN made much of an e-mail, exclusively provided to him by a close associate of Bhutto and a Hillary Clinton supporter, casting blame on Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf for her murder. We can now understand why Musharraf’s November 3 state-of-emergency decree took foreign news outlets like CNN off the air. Musharraf, who is one of the main targets of the Al Qaida international terrorist organization, recognizes that the so-called “CNN effect” in global affairs can destabilize foreign governments, including his own. It’s no wonder that he recently complained about being...

(Atlanta Ga) - A CNN spokesperson admitted today that the network did indeed provide the questions that supposed randomly selected members of the audience asked the Democratic Presidential candidates at this Thursday night's televised debate. Carol Folkmoss, an assistant producer for Wolf Blitzer revealed details to IS news in an exclusive interview this morning. "Yes, it was planned and managed from the highest levels. Saturday, November 17, 2007 CNN's six "undecided voters" were all Democratic operatives UPDATES BELOW - CNN hits bottom and digs: All six debate questioners appear to be Democratic Party operatives. Judging by the reaction to Thursday night's CNN debate, everything seems to be falling into place for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign for president. After flirting with subjecting her to some scrutiny, the media seem to be coming to the conclusion that her nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate is inevitable. The moderator, Wolf Blitzer, let Hillary off the hook on the issue of illegal immigration while luring Hillary's main competitor, Barack Obama, into a Wolf trap, and he stiffed candidate John Edwards on air time during the debate. It was Hillary's moment to shine, which is what CNN intended....

Blitzer: No Campaign Has Pressured Me on Debate Questions By Terence P. Jeffrey CNSNews.com Editor in Chief November 14, 2007 (CNSNews.com) - CNN Anchor Wolf Blitzer told Cybercast News Service Wednesday that no presidential campaign of either party has tried to pressure him to influence his questioning in CNN-hosted presidential debates. The issue arose on Tuesday when the Drudge Report reported - under the banner headline "Wolf Warned: No Ganging Up on Hillary in Vegas"- that "Wolf Blitzer has been warned not to focus Thursday's Dem debate on Hillary." WASHINGTON (CNN) — Donald Trump has some advice for President Bush if he wants a Republican to win the White House: Hide. The business mogul and vocal critic of the Bush administration told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Monday that he thinks the president is a "huge liability" for any Republican seeking the White House. Trump went on to say the best thing Bush can do for his party is to go into "hiding." "I think President Bush has to go into a corner and hide if a Republican is going to get elected," he said. "There is no way he is...

During Tuesday night’s Republican debate, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer attempted to goad Representative Duncan Hunter into agreeing that the national GOP should be "following that Arnold Schwarzenegger example" in California. This is the fourth time since the 2006 midterms that Blitzer, host of CNN's "Situation Room," has lobbied for the GOP to adopt the liberal policies of the Republican governor. During the preamble to his question, Blitzer noted how "popular" Schwarzenegger is with moderates and approved of how the former actor attempts to "forge a consensus." CNN’s cheerleading for Schwarzenegger’s brand of Republicanism began shortly after the midterm election. On...

CNN Anchor Lauds Jimmy Carter as Expert on Iran And Bush’s Iraq ‘Blunder’ Posted by Scott Whitlock on November 29, 2006 - 15:44. The media’s fascination and love affair with Jimmy Carter apparently have no limits. CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer interviewed the ex-president on Tuesday’s "Situation Room" and cited his knowledge and experience of dealing with Iran: Wolf Blitzer: "You know a lot about Iran. You spent the last 444 days of your presidency focusing in on the American hostages."Jimmy Carter: "I remember that."Blitzer: "I know. I remember it very well. Posted by Scott Whitlock on September 21, 2006 - 17:51. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, in an interview for the September 20 "Situation Room," questioned President Bush about Iran and wondered, "Why would it be so bad if this Iranian regime had a nuclear weapon?" Blitzer also alternated between complaining that not enough has been done to fight terrorism and wondering if the President was unnecessarily scaring the American people. On the subject of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the CNN anchor quizzed Bush as to why he couldn’t meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: BLITZER: "Given the stakes involved -- a nuclear confrontation -- what...

Washington DC, Jun. 12, 2006 (CNA) - Cardinal Theodore McCarrick issued a clarification Friday on remarks he made during an interview on CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. The interview had generated some concern among many Catholics. The cardinal said he recognized that his remarks could have given the wrong impression to people who took them out of context. “I’m afraid that I misspoke last Wednesday when I was being interviewed on CNN,” the cardinal wrote, referring to the June 7 interview. The cardinal explained that he and Blitzer were discussing the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment that had yet...

I never had much use for Joe Biden, and enjoyed as much as the next Freeper the ribbing he's taken over his record-breaking bloviation at the Alito hearings. But while never high, my regard for him has just sunk much, much lower. Wolf Blitzer just interviewed Biden in the context of the poignant scene of Mrs. Alito crying during the today's hearings when Sen. Graham recounted some of the unfair intimations of bigotry that the Dems leveled at Alito. To Wolf's credit, he played more than once the footage of Mrs. Alito's distress. I would note that at least twice...

I suggest to you, the only way you really would have been able to detect that would have been multiple sources, multiple volunteers inside of those organizations that could have verified it, and that would have been very, very difficult, and the agency didn't have that type of penetration before. As reported by Brent Baker in today’s CyberAlert, Wolf Blitzer was taken aback by CNN founder Ted Turner’s defense of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il and his treatment of the North Korean people. Turner disputes Blitzer's charge that the North Korean leader's regime is "despotic", insisting, "he didn't look too much different than most other people." When Turner declared we should "give 'em a break," and insisted that North Korea poses a "non-existent" threat to the U.S., Blitzer suggested North Korean missiles could reach Alaska. In response, Turner stated: "Well, what, the Aleutian Islands? There's nothing up there but...
