How Mainstream Media Will Kill A Story

The National Enquirer a couple of nights back caught former-Senator John Edwards, who is reportedly on Barack Obama's short list as a vice-presidential candidate, entering the Beverly Hilton Hotel room of a woman that isn't his wife. His wife, suffering from cancer, was presumably back at home in North Carolina. The Enquirer story has the definite sound of legitimacy... So what does the L.A. Times do, they put out an email to their bloggers telling them not to discuss the story...

Nephew Heading to Afganistan

The phones have been ringing of the hooks this morning in the UT1992 family (across the US and around the world). It is official that my nephew (oldest brother's son) is being shipped out to Afganistan. My nephew called us this morning to break the news. Although we are all a solid military family, with family members having served in the military and/or seen action in every war/conflict since the civil war, it is still difficult news to hear. He told me told he was scared, but knows that it is his duty and that he is proud to serve....

Do Ask, Do Tell-US Military To Launch Media Blitz vs. Obama Regarding Gays In Military

RFFM.org NEWS CHICAGO, IL -- Do Ask, Do Tell / U.S. Military announced what founder Dan Zanoza is calling a political counterinsurgency movement to fight against homosexual activists. Do Ask, Do Tell / U.S. Military is an organization formed to fight the effort by some which would lead to homosexuals openly serving in the United States Armed Forces. "Hillary Clinton said she would strive to do away with 'Don't ask, don't tell' which was implemented by her husband and former President Bill Clinton during his first term in office," stated Zanoza. "If Hillary planned to use our Armed Forces for...

Obama radio ad targets Focus on the Family

Focus on the Family is speaking out against a new pro-Obama radio ad airing on Christian radio. The ad calls for "a better Christian witness in politics." The new liberal political action committee Matthew 25 is running pro-Barack Obama ads on Christian radio. Salem Radio affiliate KBIQ 102.7 FM in Colorado Springs, Colorado -- home to Focus on the Family -- aired an ad that came in response to Dr. James Dobson’s recent criticism of the presidential candidate's theological views. Following is an excerpt from the radio ad: "You know it’s an election year when certain people start grabbing headlines...

Barack Obama Has Little In Common With Europe

As Barack Obama launches into a European tour – presumably because the USA alone can’t comprise the “57 states” he said he visited on his campaign - one has to wonder whether citizens of the three countries he’s visiting – Germany, France and England – have any idea what they’re dealing with. But why would they, right? I mean, America sure doesn’t seem to have a clue. While the Democratic-led congress hits a record low 9% approval rating despite high pre-election hopes, the even further left-leaning embodiment of that epic failure is now shuffling around the globe, sending crowds into...

Energy Made In America by: Audra Taylor, July 25, 2008 Representative John Boehner (R-Ohio) believes that the solutions to our nation’s energy crisis can be found right here at home. The House Republican Leader addressed this and other energy issues before a group of reporters and bloggers during a meeting Tuesday. The event was hosted by Americans for Tax Reform and The American Spectator. Boehner said that the use of “American-made energy” and further exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) will help to resolve the current state of affairs in the energy sector. He also described an energy-focused...

Bush, a recent Supreme Court decision that extends habeas corpus rights to detainees in Guantanamo Bay. Co-Chairman Senator Benjamin L. A freshman congresswoman representing the 6th district of Minnesota, Representative Bachmann is committed to a political transparency rarely seen in Washington—perhaps that is why she is a Republican elected for the first time in a Democratic year from a blue state. Moreover, contrary to popular wisdom, that dynamic did not lead her to shift left. A frequent blogger, Representative...

The more important story is that China is on a mission to dominate the United States and the rest of the world militarily by building nuclear weaponry meant to defeat the United States on the world stage. The actual Olympics pale in comparison to this upcoming event.
Lecturing Europe While Accepting the Social Structure of Brutality

New York Times columnist David Brooks recently wrote, “The reason we have a democracy is that no one side is right all the time. The only people who are dangerous are those who can’t admit, even to themselves, that obvious fact.” Aside from the glaring error in his declaration that we live in a democracy (the United States is actually a Democratic Republic, not a democracy) his assertion is spot on. In light of the logic in Mr. Brook’s statement, it would seem that the woman slated to be Barack Obama’s “Muslim liaison” is dangerous, especially to women.
Why government is so expensive in California

Michael Shires, professor of Public Policy at Pepperdine scratches the itch of why government is so expensive in California; including local county and municipal governments. Shires argues that it is just not a matter of increased taxes v. cutting services; this is how Democrats and Republicans in the California legislature paint the picture. Rather, revenue declines are only a small part of the problem. While services and their cost actually do not increase, the annual increase of secretly negotiated salary, benefits, and cost-of-living increases benefitting unionized public employees is killing budgets, savings, and family finances statewide.Shires writes: “Most public employees...

Presumptive Democrat nominee Barack Obama’s trip to Afghanistan, Iraq and Europe is all part and parcel of a full blown media event that most intuitive Americans will view as contrived and overdone; an event to compensate for Sen. Obama’s lack of experience and extraordinarily thin political portfolio. The media has helped orchestrate this publicity stunt to attract attention to their chosen candidate. There is no more doubt that they are in the tank for the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee.

How Low Will Congress’ Approval Go?

The Rasmussen Reports latest congressional approval tracking data has shown that paltry 9% of Americans believe that Congress is doing a good job. A closer exploration of the numbers reveals that the Democrat controlled Congress is getting abysmal marks not just among Republican voters and independents, but also among their own party loyalists. A mere 13% of those identifying themselves as registered Democrats are willing to give the Congress high marks. The Democratic Party leadership will surely attempt to shift the blame upon the Republican minority or the President, but a cursory examination of their legislative accomplishments sheds the light...
