Former NYTimes executive editor (from July 2003 until September 2011) Bill Keller regarding FOX News in an op-ed over the weekend: It is the most reliable profit center, expected to net a billion dollars this fiscal year. It is untainted so far by the metastasizing scandals. It is a source of political influence more durable than Murdoch’s serial romances with British prime ministers. This year the Fox News Primary probably did more to nominate Mitt Romney than New Hampshire or Michigan. And yet I would argue that — at least for Americans — Fox News is Murdoch’s most toxic legacy....

Air Force One will feel a tailwind as it heads from Seattle to Southern California on Thursday, as show biz celebrities heaped praise on President Obama for declaring that he supports the right of same-sex couples to marry. Obama is headed for a $40,000-a-person fundraiser at the home of Oscar-winning actor George Clooney. The entertainment industry has helped change attitudes in America with depiction of gay and lesbian characters in TV sitcoms and movies. Here is a sampling of celebrity tweets on Obama’s marriage announcement. –Alec Baldwin: “Obama gets it right on gay marriage. Bravo. –Kathy Griffin: “POTUS & VPOTUS:...

This has not been a good week for Barack Obama. The One kicked off his re-election campaign--not that he has ever STOPPED campaigning--Obamassiah kicked off his re-election campaign the other day, and half the crowd in the stadium came disguised as empty seats. The Obama campaign rolled out an ad called "The Life of Julia," which portrays women as lifelong dependents on the federal government, but "Julia" was met with universal mockery. Then yesterday BO did manage to win the WV Dem primary, but 40% of the vote went to a federal inmate named Keith Judd. Enthusiasm gap, anyone?...

The Export-Import Boondoggle House Chamber, Washington, D.C. May 9, 2012 Mr. Speaker: The Export-Import Bank dragoons American taxpayers into subsidizing loans to foreign companies, making it cheaper for them to buy products from politically-favored American companies which in turn use those products to compete against less-favored American companies. Past beneficiaries include such upstanding enterprises as Solyndra and Enron. Since 2007, almost half of its money has gone to support that plucky little start-up called Boeing. Air India got $5 billion to purchase Boeing aircraft allowing them to undercut American carriers like Delta with their own tax money. We’re told we...
  • China & the Other Central Banks Are Buying Gold-Ranting Andy Hoffman--09.May.2012

The Financial Survival Network ^ | 05/09/2012 | Kerry Lutz presents: "Ranting" Andy Hoffman gives us the update on the lastest precious metals slam down; the reasons to own gold and silver couldn't be stronger. If the prices stay down this low, don't be surprised to witness a major flood of buying. We're also getting into the Indian Wedding Season, which will result in increased demand along with massive sovereign central bank purchases. This is worse than 2008, and banks are blowing up all over Europe. Spain has just bailed out its third largest bank. Who's going to bail out Spain? Greece is planning to reneg on its debt....

The Financial Survival Network ^ | 05/09/2012 | Kerry Lutz presents: Gary Wagner, master technician and trader, follows markets for a living. The precious metals market never misses an opportunity to humble even the most astute technical trader, just like it did to Gary today. But we're living in interesting times, and the world's events are a constant reminder of that fact. While the dollar looks good right now, and the Euro looks doomed, one can never underestimate these volatile markets' propensity for shock and awe. Just when you think you know what's happening, boom, Spain blows up. When countries start imploding, it's extremely difficult to understand how the...

Ok,a co-worker is looking to join the USAF. He called the recruiter and after answering a few "get to know you questions" he then asked where he went to high school. My buddy replied he was home schooled and has a High School diploma thru PA homeschool. The recruiter told him that was a problem because the military doesnt take homeschooled grads. Now, this guy has a degree from a state college and is smart. I have never heard of such a thing. My question is has anyone heard of this and what recourse does he have. Thanks in advance

See the video and learn more at Ann Romney raised 5 boys. She successfully battled breast cancer and multiple sclerosis. But what does White House insider Hilary Rosen say about Ann Romney? "Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life." And Bill Maher, who gave $1 million supporting Obama, attacks: "Ann Romney has never gotten her ass out of the house." Happy Mother's Day from Barack Obama's Team!

Recently I read a masterful article in The Christian Post by Dr. Albert Mohler, who is nothing short of a modern-day prophet. In the article, Dr. Mohler warns, “The urgency to reach people with the Gospel can, if the church is not faithful and watchful, tempt us to subvert the Gospel by redefining its terms.” Specifically, Dr. Mohler drew attention to how some evangelical megachurches appear to be softening their positions on homosexuality. He calls on evangelical leaders to steer clear of the sinking sand of celebrating homosexuality—a quicksand that the mainline churches, I believe, have fallen into. Many evangelicals...

I wonder what Maggy Haggerty think about allegation against John Travolta – that the acclaimed actor sexually assaulted at least two masseurs? I imagine it sounds all too familiar to Haggerty, a massage therapist. She went public three years ago with an accusation that former Vice President Al Gore tried to sex her up in a Portland, Ore. hotel room. “Al Gore is a pervert and a sexual predator,” she charged. “He’s not what people think he is – he’s a sick man.” According to the report she filed with Portland police, Gore was in town to deliver a speech...

Most of this will sound depressingly familiar...  ready-made for a malignant narcissist like BHO: "The organizer must become schizoid politically, in-order not to slip into being a 'true believer'.  Before men can act an issue must be polarized.... What I am saying is that the organizer must be able to split himself into two parts- one part in the arena of action where he polarizes the issue 100-to-nothing, and helps to lead his forces into conflict... while the other part knows that when the time comes for negotiations it is really only 10% difference- and yet both parts have to live comfortably...

    Stand With Arizona ^ | 05-09-2012 | John Hill
by John HillStand With Arizona As most Americans know, Florida is a state where a small number of votes can make a huge difference. After all, the 2000 presidential election was decided by just over 500 votes. So when there is evidence of potential voter fraud, officials better take it seriously. But they rarely have. Stand With Arizona, along with FAIR, have urged Florida to check on evidence of potential illegal alien voters for over a year with no action taken. That is, until a Tampa NBC affiliate uncovered shocking evidence of illegal aliens who voted in multiple elections...

"Al Qaeda goes retro with exploding underwear."  That about says it, the "sultans of style" in the Al Qaeda passe have just launched their new Spring lingerie product line.  It's, well, rather explosive. I'm not sure how comfortable they are, but who cares, they explode -- well sometimes, and they don't always carry the desired effect, at least they didn't for that African guy who tried to explode an airliner over Detroit, but instead got a free wax job. Al Qaeda bomb maker Ibrahim Hassan Asiri is reputed to be the designer of the new nasty knickers. This week, the CIA,...

Central bank buying, excessive money printing, and all sorts of economic and monetary mayhem are occurring. Now is not the time to lose confidence or hope in a better tomorrow. In the West Virginia Democrat primary, Obama was challenged by a prisoner from Texas and managed a significant victory of 20 points. Democratic strategists see these results as proof that Obama is regaining the momentum of 2008. Like the reports on the economy and jobs, news that can be spun with a positive view is vital to the Obama campaign. Obama's latest challenger, inmate Keith Judd, put up a valiant effort from the Federal Correctional Institution in Texas for the Democrat Presidential bid. Unfortunately, Judd has been serving time since 1999 for making threats at the University of New Mexico,...

Given all the money printing and the global economic instability, now is indubitably a good time to be a buyer. Today, we discussed the real story on Chinese inflation, and it's far worse than has ever been disclosed. Over the past year, meat and food prices have doubled! So this means real Chinese economic growth is far below official statements, just like in the US. So don't panic, and don't let your emotions get the better of you. Listen to the...

With French voters electing a Socialist presidential candidate who campaigned on an anti-austerity platform, the size of government has truly evolved into a global, and not just American, vote-moving issue. However, we should call “austerity” policies by their true name—fiscal responsibility. Many economists agree that when a country’s debt reaches 90 percent of GDP, serious economic contraction occurs that can persist for decades. This 90 percent is often called the danger zone. Greece, the paradigm for fiscal conservatives around the world, had debt to GDP ratio of 165.4 percent in 2011. The word austerity conjures up images of Ebenezer Scrooge,...
