The day after Barack Obama’s election, a physical therapist from the old Soviet union, who came to Staten Island to live in freedom, got a call from her best friend, a fellow Soviet immigrant, who lives in the Russian section of Brooklyn. The caller got one word out before they both started to cry for three minutes. Then the caller speaking Russian said, “We came here to escape them. Where do we go now?” Both women knew the “Them” were Communists and both saw Democrats as no different from Communists. To those who don’t live in either the Brooklyn or...
  • Breaking: Small Employers "Eligible" for a Tax Credit They'll Never Use

There is an absurd report out [today] from Families USA which breathlessly states that, "3.2 million small businesses, employing 19.3 million workers across the nation, will be eligible for [a small business tax credit under Obamacare]." Note the word, "eligible." Meaning, that this many businesses can claim this tax credit. Whether many actually will is another question. The credit in question is a byzantine and confusing provision which most small employers won't try to use. It involves far too much recordkeeping and effort, and isn't very lucrative compared to simply deducting employee health insurance premiums from taxable income. The credit...

We can only guess at his reasons. Perhaps it is the cost of real estate in Palo Alto, the price of Starbucks in Silicon Valley, or the lack of Bugatti dealerships but Eduardo Saverin - co-founder of Facebook - just renounced his US citizenship. Via Bloomberg, FACEBOOK CO-FOUNDER SAVERIN GIVES UP U.S. CITIZENSHIP PRE-IPO FACEBOOK CO-FOUNDER SAVERIN PLANS TO INVEST IN BRAZIL COMPANIES Or maybe the always pioneering entrepreneurs from Facebook just gave us a preview of US tax policy, or rather the popular response to it, in 2013. ...And did you hear Big Guy say the other day that “Sometimes I forget the magnitude of the recession.” Really? I’m guessing that’s probably because our jobs and unemployment numbers are constantly improving. Or something. Butt I guess there are still a lot of other ‘folks’ – just like Julia – who never forget. No sir, not when their unemployment has run out and they still can’t find a job in George W. Bush’s ongoing recession. Unfortunately their perception is that it’s a magnitude 9.8. So it looks like things are still hard out there for a pimp. Did you...
  • Journalists, Muckrakers, and the CPI: Right from the beginning they failed us

    05/11/2012 9:44:10 AM PDT · by ProgressingAmerica · 2 replies
Journalism has a very long history of betraying the constitution and the United States of America. You can see just how traitorous this group of people have been by tracking down members of America's first domestic propaganda mill, the Committee on Public Information. The CPI was around during the presidency of Woodrow Wilson. Most of these are in no particular order, also, some were life long journalists, others only spent part of their time as journalists before(or after) doing other things. When Wilson created the CPI, George Creel, a journalist is who he tapped to lead the organization. Creel states...
  • Romney Surges to Within Four... In Oregon!

Perhaps you've been to Oregon, the hipster capital of the Pacific rim? The land of Subarus and home to Portland is sometimes seen as a bastion for Democratic and other left-of-center politicians. The state has shifted quite significantly to the left in the last decade, especially as the California exodus continues apace. So Democrat Barack Obama should be winning by a landslide margin, correct? After all, he won by 16 points in 2008. After his endorsement of gay marriage, he should be surging-- and at least holding the ground he once held. Instead, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has cut...

Former Massaschusetts Governor Mitt Romney has opened a widened lead on President Barack Obama. Battered by poor economic news, the President has dipped, while Romney is surging on new GOP unity. While still early in the race, this is good news for the Republican nominee. This new poll comes to us from Rasmussen, which is the most reliable of the major pollsters. This also comes as Romney has had some success against Obama in the polls so far. This, however, is the largest yet. Romney: 50% Obama: 43% Other/don't know: 7% This is more good news for the Romney campaign....

Since this information was from Bloomberg I did not post it but I find it funny that the person who headed the department that so far has lost $2 billion for JPMorgan was a women named Ina R. Drew. I point thus out because the NOW-type hags claimed if women were in charge of Wall Street there would of been no financial crisis since testosterone driven males can't help themselves but make big bets that exploded.
  • Federal Appeals Courts Say Illegal Aliens Have No 2nd Amendment Gun Rights

The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals has agreed with the Fifth Circuit Court this week in ruling that Illegal aliens have no right to own or possess a firearm while being here. The Firth Circuit had said earlier that illegal immigrants are not part of the "people" protected by the Second Amendment and have no constitutional right to bear arms. Emmanuel Huitron–Guizar entered a conditional guilty plea to being an illegal alien in possession of firearms. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, and then will be deported when he finishes the sentence. According to the Court's opinion, “Mr....

Barack Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder are going all in with their fight to silence America’s Sheriff, Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County Arizona. Reports from Arizona are pulling back the curtain on the staggering amount of taxpayer money along with unlimited leftist private funds being thrown against Arpaio. “Obama has joined forces with George Soros and LaRaza-not to mention the ENTIRE Leftwing liberal political establishment-in a multi-million dollar smear campaign to DESTROY AND DISCREDIT Sheriff Joe,” says blogger Conservative Patriot. Unbelievable here is the abject silence of Arizona’s two “conservative” Republican Senators, John McCain and Jon Kyl! They...

  • City Claims Significant Workforce Cut; Budget Says Otherwise

    Michigan Capitol Confidential ^ | 5/8/2012 | Tom Gantert
For the second time in two years, the city of Oak Park is asking for a tax increase via a public safety millage, saying it has made signficant cuts in its workforce but that those efforts didn't save enough money. The city's budgets online, however, appear to dispute the claims of how deep those cuts were. Voters will be asked May 8 to approve a 1.14 mills Public Safety Millage for 10 years. Voters approved a 1-mill Public Safety Millage last year, but the city now says that wasn’t enough because of a drop in residential property values. The city...

Laws almost always create unanticipated consequences. This is certainly likely to be the case when politicians bend over backwards to accommodate the currents of political correctness. ObamaCare uses the Social Security language of the Internal Revenue Code to determine who is eligible for “religious conscience” objection to the insurance mandate. Specifically, the law provides exemptions for adherents of “recognized religious sects” that are “conscientiously opposed” to accepting benefits from any insurance, public or private. As a consequence of this provision, Muslims may claim a religious exemption that is denied Christians and Jews. Since Islam believes insurance is haraam (forbidden) and...

    American Thinker ^ | May 11, 2012 | Rick Richman
On May 7, Geoffrey Norman posted "Today's Laugh Line" at National Review Online -- a quote from a column by Mark Halperin in Time asserting Mitt Romney has "the luxury of an open schedule" allowing him to "spend every waking hour as a full-time candidate," while President Obama "is required to do his day job." It was even funnier if one looked at President Obama's May 7 schedule. Here was his schedule that day, in its entirety, with all events taking place in the Oval Office: 10:00 a.m. The President receives the Presidential Daily Briefing. 11:00 a.m. The President meets...

One day after President Obama made a landmark public statement announcing his support for gay marriage, which some say was nudged forward by Vice President Joe Biden's announced support for it this past weekend, another world leader also came forward. Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand broke his longtime silence on issue, providing a statement to the Associated Press in which he declared that he was "not personally opposed to gay marriage." President Obama's opponent in this fall's general election, Mitt Romney, confirmed his position opposing gay marriage yesterday, but according to the Washington Post, refrained from further comment...

This evening "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed Mark Nejame with new details on George Zimmerman, the man charged with killing Trayvon Martin. Joining Piers Morgan for a live interview, the CNN legal analyst shared an exclusive photograph which suggests Zimmerman has black heritage: "The man in the middle is apparently George Zimmerman's great-grandfather. The woman above him, is in fact his grandmother who is half black," explained Nejame. "And the little child in the gentleman's lap, is his mother. So we see that he really has signifcant multiracial, multicultural roots." In a case ripe with racial undertones, Nejame suggests that Thursday's...

In America we treasure our religious freedom. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says that government will keep out of the religion business and guarantees religion will be practiced freely without interference by government. “The wall of separation” is revered. Have we misunderstood the meaning of the wall of separation? We all should be reminded that the First Amendment keeps government out of religion, but says nothing about keeping religion out of government. Under our Constitution, religious people and religious institutions are welcome in the halls of government. They are free to bring their religious convictions with them wherever...
