  • Disintegration: What It Looks Like When a Nation Collapses

Whether the system is going to collapse is not the question. Most informed individuals understand that out of control spending fueled by trillions of dollars in debt, unprecedented monetary expansion and ever increasing dependence on a government social safety net overburdened by millions of people in need of essential services can not be sustained forever. For many Americans and our counterparts in Europe, the collapse is now. To suggest that we are somehow on the road to recovery is nothing but conjecture.

Yep.  You heard it right.  After being pessimistically distant from any good expectations out of ‘da Bears - much less happy about who they ARE as people – I am now rooting for Brandon Marshall the way I did Tim Tebow last season.Unlike some fans who only root for winners regardless of how immoral, crude or unlikeable their sports heroes are – I’m ain’t one of ‘em.  Having a likeable or loveable player isn’t MORE important to me than winning, but, it is a requirement for my affection.  For instance, I could never root for Mike Tyson as long...

"Wasn't he, uh, that guy who said 'Give me liberty or give me death'?" Yeah, he was. If any mention is made of Patrick Henry, or any incidental reference linked to his name, the vast majority of folks remember he said something like that, since it is cited as his single, or at least the most 'historical thing' that he did. What they don't remember was the obstructionism he caused in the framing of our Constitution. Kindness, perhaps, leaves him with only that one quote as his single contribution to American history. Kindness, perhaps, leaves out the problems he introduced...

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says a federal court’s overturning of a city firearms ordinance “won’t stop us from carrying out our over all crime strategy.” “The problem from our perspective is that too many people have access to guns,” Emanuel asserted. “We won’t have law and order until everyone except the police is disarmed. The City must have a monopoly on the use of deadly force. Only then will the balance of terror be sufficiently one-sided to ensure peace.” As for the court’s ruling, Emanuel suggested that “the court may take whatever position it likes in the courtroom. But we...

. Make no mistake, our founding fathers have never granted a power to Congress to regulate aliens within the various State borders. What they did grant to Congress is the power to set the requirements by which an alien may become a citizen of the united States. And if there is any dispute concerning the limited power granted to Congress regarding the rule of naturalization, let our founding fathers speak for themselves. REPRESENTATIVE WHITE while debating the Rule of Naturalization notes the narrow limits of what ``Naturalization`` [the power granted to Congress] means, and he ``doubted whether the constitution authorized...

Via CNN: "I welcome the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down major provisions of Arizona’s S.B. 1070 on federal preemption grounds. Today’s ruling appropriately bars the State of Arizona from effectively criminalizing unlawful status in the state and confirms the federal government’s exclusive authority to regulate in the area of immigration. While I am pleased the Court confirmed the serious constitutional questions the government raised regarding Section 2, I remain concerned about the impact of Section 2, which requires law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person lawfully stopped or detained when they have reason to suspect...

There's really no doubt any longer. As Curt noted, this administration is lying through its teeth about Fast and Furious. Liberals have all sorts of pathetic commentary for Fast and Furious- it runs from the frenetically dissembling Jay Carney saying it's not worthy of Congress [VIDEO AT SITE] or HEREto the feckless Sheila Jackson Lee blaming George Bush while conflating Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious. A little confluence of events this week has brought to the fore of my mind the sad, sick reality that most people in this culture are so far gone that they WANT to be lied to, and will seek out and attach themselves to liars. While it is nauseating to behold, it is also interesting in a clinical sort of way. First, I helped some guys out in outing a con artist blogger earlier this week. What was fascinating was watching people cling to their "friend" even while being beaten over the head with objective evidence over and over and...

The United States Supreme Court struck down some parts of the Arizona Immigration Law, but the Supreme Court UPHELD a key provision (and very controversial part) of the AZ Immigration Law. According to the Washington Post, The Supreme Court has upheld the provision in the AZ law requiring police to check the status of someone they suspect is not in the United States legally. Anyone in AZ must now "Show Me Your Papers" when asked by AZ law enforcement. I believe that this ruling gives us a glimpse of how the Supreme Court will rule when they hear the Voter...

America is very much a gun culture, and more weapons remain in civilian hands here than just about anywhere on earth, which is a good thing. We also have a fascination with pistols in this country, with the vast majority of the states having some sort of carry provisions in their laws allowing anyone not prohibited from carrying a pistol on their person. Some states have open carry while most have concealed carry, and thus a great many Americans are armed with handguns at any given time.Reasons listed on most concealed carry applications range from personal protection, to protection...

Just five days ago, MSNBC ran an article describing SB 1070 as the "papers, please" immigration law. MSNBC framed the law as if the only the provision in it allowed police officers to inquire about the immigration status of criminals. Today, the Supreme Court has ruled that that key provision is constitutional. Yet, in its wake the Main Stream Media has instantly changed their tune, declaring that the high court has struck down the law. The importance of the provision that they once declared indefensible and unconstitutional? All but forgotten in their headlines. MSNBC, for example, has this headline blaring...

Will Texas Have to Change Its Campaign Spending Law? Will Tom Delay have his Conviction Overturned? According to the AP, the Supreme Court today has (again) ruled that corporations have the right to spend freely to advocate for or against candidates for state and local offices. The justices struck down a Montana law limiting corporate campaign spending, but this case will have a ripple effect on all other states. Texas is a state that does not allow corporations to spend money in Texas state and local election. In fact, former Speaker of the united States House of Representatives, Tom Delay,...

Brutality and Injustice Islamist Watch, a project of the Middle East Forum, defends the freedoms and liberties of Western society against "stealth jihad," a campaign by Islamists to slowly and methodically implement a Sharia-compliant theocracy in the West. Sharia is Islamic law, based on the Koran and the teachings and personal actions of Mohammad (known as The Sunnah, noted and reported in Hadiths). Below, very personal examples of life under Sharia in Islamist societies. The intolerance, the brutality, the inhumanity. The extreme lack of religious pluralism, women's rights, free speech and equality under the law. 1. Sudanese Woman Lashed (Video)...

Chancellor Angela Merkel hardened her resistance to euro-area debt sharing to resolve the region’s financial crisis, setting Germany on a collision course with its allies at a summit of European leaders this week. Merkel, speaking to a conference in Berlin today as Spain announced it would formally seek aid for its banks, dismissed “euro bonds, euro bills and European deposit insurance with joint liability and much more” as “economically wrong and counterproductive,” saying that they ran against the German constitution. [Bloomberg] So it seems that the Germans are building a new Siegfried Line to protect itself from France and other...

Islamo-fascist Muslim Brotherhood aims "to create strategic 'balance' in the region" As the so-called Arab Spring brings yet another Islamic government hell-bent on introducing Sharia law -rather than anything resembling freedom and democracy- it's become glaringly obvious that in it's wake the world has not gotten better for ANY-one, save medieval Muslim fanatics... and nobody knows it better than the almost 50% that voted against Morsithis past weekend. Morsy While many Israelis attempt to remain outwardly upbeat regarding the possibility of doing business with Egypt's newly-empowered Muslim Brotherhood, most must already realize that the development is an unmitigated disaster. They...
