Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody won another round against the Biden administration in federal court, this time in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. On Monday, the court ruled to keep in place an injunction against the Department of Homeland Security’s parole program. The injunction was issued by a federal district judge in Florida last month. DHS appealed the judge’s ruling and lost. On May 8, U.S. District Judge T. Kent Wetherell of the Northern District of Florida Pensacola Division vacated DHS’s “Policy on the Use of Parole Plus Alternatives to Detention to Decompress Border Locations.” On May 16, he...

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday discussed the brutal slaying of five people in Texas without noting the fugitive accused of the heinous crime is an illegal immigrant who had previously been deported four times. During her daily briefing, Jean-Pierre provided an update on the manhunt currently underway for 38-year-old Francisco Oropesa, the Mexican national accused of gunning down five people – including a nine-year-old boy – inside a home in Cleveland, Texas, last Friday. The White House spokeswoman called for more stringent gun control measures – but not immigration controls – in the wake of the tragedy....

The Texas gun store where teen school shooter Salvador Ramos got an AR-15-style rifle before his rampage was previously part of an ammunition smuggling case involving the Mexican drug cartel, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In 2009, a businessman from Uvalde’s neighboring town of Eagle Pass was accused of trying to smuggle more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition into Mexico, ICE said. The firepower was purchased at Oasis Outback LLC in Uvalde — the same gun shop where Ramos got one of the rifles found inside Robb Elementary School after he massacred 21 people there last week. Businessman Fred...

Massachusetts Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D) and Ed Markey (D) expressed “grave concerns” in a letter Sunday about reported plans to deploy Customs and Border Protection (CBP) SWAT teams into so-called sanctuary cities. In the letter to the heads of CBP, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the two addressed the CBP announcement that its Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) will be deployed to several cities that refuse to cooperate with the Trump administration on immigration enforcement. "The BORTAC deployment to Boston and other cities is unnecessary, unwelcome, and dangerous. But the specter of heavily...

At an outdoor press conference, Senator Ted Cruz slammed congressional democrats for their hypocrisy in failing to address the crisis at the border. Bringing up the loop holes that incentive illegal immigration and child trafficking, Senator Cruz called on Congress to close the loopholes and stop child trafficking. This a short and sweet video from Beautiful Ted (6:00 minute video). Very moving statement and DJT retweeted this on his Twitter. Don't miss because he gives some very powerful points. This is also a good time to check out a podcast Scott Adams published in January (51 minutes, MP3). It's an...

An unknown number of migrants were recently flown into Murrieta’s Border Patrol facility and some in the community were quick to stand in front of the gates to let them know they’re not welcome to stay. Murrieta resident Bob Kowell says he’s all for legal immigration but told CBSLA’s Nicole Comstock that a source informed him of 100 undocumented immigrants being flown in from the Texas border to San Diego, then bussed to Murrieta over the weekend to be processed. “We can be called a racist and we’ll just smile. Because we don’t care,” said Kowell. “We’re watching to see...

Victor Davis Hanson, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and professor of Classics Emeritus at California State University, spoke with host Rebecca Mansour and Red Pilled America co-founder Patrick Courrielche on Monday’s edition of Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Tonight and described Democrats’ push for “reparations” as a racial political strategy born from fear that President Trump is “making inroads” with black voters. Reparations poll “about 25 percent support,” said Hanson. “It doesn’t even poll a majority of support among African Americans, so it’s not so much a serious issue as a campaign issue. It’s sort of like the Green New...

(Reuters) - Christian Mejia thought he had a shot at getting out of immigration detention in rural Louisiana after he found a lawyer to help him seek asylum. Then he was quarantined. In early January, a mumps outbreak at the privately run Pine Prairie U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Processing Center put Mejia and hundreds of other detainees on lockdown. “When there is just one person who is sick, everybody pays,” Mejia, 19, said in a phone interview from the Pine Prairie center describing weeks without visits and access to the library and dining hall. President Trump declared on Sunday the deal for the Obama-era DACA program was “NO MORE” and called for "tough" immigration reform after a report stated a caravan carrying more than 1,000 people from Central America is traveling through Mexico and to the United States in hopes of entering the states illegally or by asking for asylum. Trump, who has vowed to end catch and release, tweeted Sunday morning that Republicans need to take the "nuclear option" when passing tougher immigration laws. The president had given Congress six months to pass legislation enshrining the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA),...

A border rush?  Of refugees?  From violence?  Like what we had with the Central American "unaccompanied minors" crisis of 2014? Nope, it's someplace else – Colombia and Brazil, which just announced the clampdown on their borders with restricted cards, punishments for illegals, and thousands more border guards, to keep unchecked illegal immigration under control, as thousands and thousands of Venezuelans flee their hellish homeland. According to Reuters: Colombia and Brazil tightened border controls with Venezuela on Thursday as both nations grapple with a mounting influx of hundreds of thousands of desperate migrants fleeing a worsening economic crisis. PAMPA - Pampa Police arrest 16 illigal individuals after a traffic stop. It happened at 2:40 a.m. when a Pampa Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation. The officer said the vehicle pulled over on the 900 block of West Alcock, and as the officer approached the driver door, the vehicle drove off and turned south onto N. Hobart St. The vehicle then came to an abrupt stop and, according to the officer, multiple occupants began to exit the vehicle and fled the scene. The officer was able to detain two occupants still inside. Other officers...

OAN Newsroom The Trump administration is allowing customs officers to screen all cargo trucks coming into the U.S. in an effort to crack down on Mexican drug cartels. Under the Obama administration agents would only conduct random inspections allowing cartels to run their concealed loads through the border, but border security forces will now use technology to screen every cargo truck. According to the Department of Transportation about 471,000 trucks pass through the U.S.-Mexico border on a monthly basis. Officials say cartels often use other routes to transport drugs, but their preferred method is driving through a port of entry.

As the Trump Administration rolled out the new orders on immigration enforcement yesterday, we at NumbersUSA noticed a lot of very familiar ideas. They were on our list of the 10 most important actions needed to reduce the current and future illegal population of the country. We assembled the list last summer. We looked over the dozens of actions that would be helpful and chose 10. We then arranged them in order of which ones would have the most impact on the reduction. Look below for the full list of "10 Steps to Fix Our Broken Immigration-Enforcement System". Unfortunately, the...
  • Byron York: Attorney General Jeff Sessions is Democrats' nightmare

President-elect Trump's transition team knew that nominating Jeff Sessions for Attorney General would set off controversy. Democrats and their allies in the press have at key times in the past called Sessions a racist — they're now using the Alabama senator's full name, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, to heighten the Old South effect — and now, as they oppose Trump at nearly every turn, they've turned to race again. Here's why the effort to stop Sessions is likely to intensify as his confirmation hearings near. Sessions is the Senate's highest-profile, most determined, and most knowledgeable opponent of comprehensive immigration reform....

“You can expect to see CBP pushing back and holding those people,” said Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council. “They’re going to want to make it look like they’re in lockstep with [Trump] … We’re already seeing it now.” Judd said the processing center at Nogales, Arizona, is set to open soon, and he added that he expects other processing centers to open, as well, in order to increase detention capacity. Career-level supervisors will be more worried about offending the incoming administration than the outgoing one, Judd said.
  • Did ICE endorse Trump? No, but a union of 5,000 immigration agents did.

Republican candidate Donald Trump said, incorrectly, during Monday night's presidential debate that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a federal law enforcement agency, had just endorsed him. Since government agencies cannot issue endorsements, Mr. Trump was likely referring to the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, a union representing some 5,000 immigration officers, which backed Trump in a campaign announcement Monday morning. The latest show of support adds to Trump's endorsements from other law enforcement unions, including the National Border Patrol Council, which represents some 16,500 immigration officers, and the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents about 330,000 officers nationwide.
