The prominent “progressive” historian Howard Zinn, whose books are force-fed to young people on many college campuses, was not only a member of the Moscow-controlled and Soviet-funded Communist Party USA (CPUSA) but lied about it, according to an FBI file released on Friday. The file, consisting of three sections totaling 423 pages, was made available on the FBI’s website and released in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from this writer. Zinn taught in the political science department of Boston University for 24 years, from 1964 to 1988, and has been a major influence on the modern-day...

Educating For Disaster Malcolm A. Kline, June 11, 2010 The good news is that our political elites from both parties are highly educated. The bad news is the education that they and their progeny receive. “Today’s ruling class, from Boston to San Diego, was formed by an educational system that exposed them to the same ideas and gave them remarkably uniform guidance, as well as tastes and habits,” Angelo M. Codevilla writes in the July/August 2010 issue of The American Spectator. “These amount to a social canon of judgments about good and evil, complete with secular sacred history, sins (against...

Jane went to Vietnam to end the senseless killing. She embraced that dear, sweet, little, old man with that darling goatee. What was his name? Hop Sing? No! It was Ho Chi Minh! They named a city after him! He was the George Washington of Vietnam -- just like Daniel Ortega would have been the George Washington of Nicaragua if the Reagan fascists hadn't duped Jimmy Carter into forcing elections on those poor Nicaraguans. Ed Asner told me that. I miss Ed…I really do. If it hadn't been for Jane our prisoners of war in Vietnam would have been mistreated...

The Vietnam Vet who spit on Jane Fonda as she was signing her new book was the topic of debate in the news this week - should he have done it? Everyone said no, and I agree. However, I understand the anger behind it. Many of our troops experienced the same thing when they came home from the war. Just last year my husband, Duane, who is a decorated Vietnam Vet, was speaking to a group about the war in Iraq as compared to the Vietnam war and one man shared during the Q & A that he was one...

Jane Fonda talks about how she is 'riveted' by faith and why feminism is what Jesus taughtFrom her longtime political activism to her Oscar-winning acting, Jane Fonda has never done anything halfheartedly, and she brings this characteristic intensity to her faith. When she talks about "feeling the presence of the Almighty," her view of Jesus, and the way she prays, her voice wells from deep within her chest. You may know this voice from her films (among dozens of others: Barbarella, Klute, On Golden Pond, and currently in theaters, Monster-in-Law), or from her aerobics videos ("feel the burn!"), or from...

Fonda was pointing out how wonderful Ted Turner was to donate a billion dollars to UN. Then said he has donated tens of millions of dollars to stop female genital mutilation. Then she said something to the effect that 'one thing about Ted, he puts his money where his mouth is'.......She didn't have a clue what she had said. Once a fool, always a fool.

A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED She really was a traitor. A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear. Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century." Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed...

Boston University trustees unanimously booted Daniel S. Goldin from the school's presidency yesterday, paying him $1.8 million to leave before he worked a day. ``On reflection, I think the board felt that Mr. Goldin might not be a good fit,'' board vice chairman Dexter Dodge told reporters. Preferring the embarrasment of reversing themselves to working with the former NASA chief, trustees instead appointed BU Medical School Dean Aram Chobanian as interim president and restarted the search for a permanent leader. Capping a week of monumental upheaval at the fourth-largest university in the country, the 33-year era of John Silber ended...

Daniel S. Goldin, the former head of NASA who was just a day from becoming president of Boston University, resigned Friday amid reports of souring relations with the school's trustees and its outgoing chancellor, John R. Silber. The announcement ended a tumultuous week that began Oct. 24, when an executive committee of the board of trustees agreed to reconsider the offer to Goldin. (snip) University officials said they reached a financial settlement with Goldin that terminated his contract, reportedly worth $750,000 per year, plus other perquisites. The settlement was widely reported as $1.8 million. (snip) The Globe reported Friday that...

The Boston University Board of Trustees has brought down the curtain - at least for now - on the multi-act melodrama playing out on Commonwealth Avenue. Former NASA chief Daniel S. Goldin saved the trustees the trouble of firing him before he even took office and no doubt walked away with a settlement handsome enough to salve any bruises he might have suffered to his ego. A pile of cash, no hassles from the board, no John Silber to breathe down his neck and no damage to his reputation since it was the board that persisted in acting like the...

Just one day before he was to take over as the trustees' unanimous choice to lead Boston University, Daniel S. Goldin, the former NASA administrator, agreed to walk away from the presidency of the nation's fourth-largest private university for a reported payment of $1.8 million. The university, whose officials only weeks ago hailed Mr. Goldin as a visionary leader, and Mr. Goldin, who had invited the entire faculty to his inauguration on Nov. 17, "terminated their contract and have mutually decided to part company," according to a statement released by Mr. Goldin and the university. University officials would not say...

BOSTON -- A philanthropist is demanding that Boston University return his $3 million donation to renovate a library. Grocery entrepreneur David Mugar said he had been told the money was "lost" through poor accounting and could not be identified among university funds. He is considering a lawsuit. The 2-year-old dispute reached a crucial juncture Tuesday when the university's board of trustees debated Mugar's demand that the money be returned and asked a lawyer to recommend options. Mugar made his gift in 1993 to expand and renovate the school's Mugar Library, named after his grandparents and funded by his family.
