President Barack Obama greets Chinese President Hu Jintao during the official arrivals for the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington, Monday April 12, 2010

B. Hussein Obama was touted as America’s foreign relations savior, the deity who would repair America’s image with the rest of the world. How has Obama done with the middle east? Not so good. He has bowed and scraped in front of the Saudi King, not been able to control Iran and Aquavelvejihad, upset Israel, bowed almost to the floor for the Japanese Emperor, and allowed the North Korean dwarf to push him around. How has B. Hussein Obama done with our greatest ally, Great Britain? He couldn’t have done any worse if he had defecated at the Queen's feet.

ABC’s Good Morning America finally picked up on the deep bow President Obama performed for the Emperor of Japan over the weekend. Co-host Diane Sawyer ran through how other U.S. Presidents have greeted either Emperor Akhito or his father, the late Emperor Hirohito over the years — some bowing, some not. Sawyer claimed that Americans are “not trained to greet royalty” and “it’s just too confusing.” Actually, the government employs lots of experts on culture and protocol to make sure that our presidents are fully “trained” on what to do when they represent our government overseas — which is not...

So much of an idiot, in fact, that according to Tapper’s source, at least one Japanese paper isn’t running the photo out of embarrassment. This tool actually groveled himself into a minor international incident. The good news for O-bots? It wasn’t unprecedented. Nixon evidently made a modest bow to Hirohito in the early 70s. The bad news? “Obama’s handshake/forward lurch was so jarring and inappropriate it recalls Bush’s back-rub of Merkel. “Kyodo News is running his appropriate and reciprocated nod and shake with the Empress, certainly to show the president as dignified, and not in the form of a first...

Republican Clerics who are borderline xenophobic are working very hard in front of and behind the scenes to paint President Obama as someone who is weak without grit. Their political rhetoric is psychotic, says Yvonne R. Davis. Okay so what if President Obama bowed to Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah at the G-20 Summit? Showing respect for the Elder King's position does NOT in any way mean the apocalyptic messages Republican Clerics are screaming over the air waves -- the US is going to turn Muslim and Christianity is going to get thrown out of an ancient Uzbek tower and smash...

I suggest you trust your “lying eyes” because it’s crystal clear that the White House is lying. This is not just about the lie, but the international symbolism. This is about a man who campaigned as a Christian, yet showed the utmost in respect to a Muslim king. This is about the appearance of undeclared allegiances, and yet another example of youthful arrogance and immaturity. President Obama voluntarily bent his knee and bowed his head before the most important ruler in the Islamic world. Let us hope that it does not require a war to right this insult to American sovereignty....

In a series of five posts titled "Why is this man bowing?," I noted Barack Obama's disgusting bow to the Saudi King in London. My persistence on the subject was prompted by the blackout on the story by the mainstream media. Neither the New York Times nor the Washington Post carried a story about it. Neither did the news services nor FOX News. Then this week the story emerged from the shadows of the Internet. Ben Smith ran an item on Politico with the White House denying the bow. "It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands,...

President Obama definitely bowed down when he shook the hand of Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud at the G-20 in London last week. Despite the continuing outrage of conservatives and Arab-bashers, what Obama did was entirely appropriate, too. Here's my guide to Arabian royal protocol and American common sense. In the videotape zapping around the Internet, Obama looks slightly awkward, as if he wasn't quite sure whether to bow, shake hands or do both. It turned out to be a deep bow- cum-handshake, it was certainly more than the nod-handshake he gave Queen Elizabeth II, but it was...

Because the White House's first explanation about President Obama's bow to King Abdullah — that he was bending down to shake hands — would only make sense if Obama were nine feet tall, CNN reporter Dan Lothian brought up the controversy again yesterday, this time to press secretary Robert Gibbs. Surely, once the White House had time to reflect on the fact that we have actual video of the moment in question, they would admit that the president had indeed bowed as a simple show of respect to an international counterpart, blamed the "shaking hands" excuse on a well-meaning White...

We have always been at war with Eastasia. We have always been at war with Eastasia. We have always been at war with Eastasia. The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets. “It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah,” said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. I can see why this aide wanted to be anonymous, otherwise he’d probably...

A series on b. Hussein's rumbling, bumbling, fumbling, stumbling Press Secretary Robert "Ahhhhh" Gibbs.... Ah, the beauty of bait and switch, deny deny deny, followup a fact presented to you with snark and contempt and arrogance. Such is the world of Gibbsy. Video from today's press briefing.

Tonight, Hannity will show the video of Obama bowing to the Saudi King.

"It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The Washington Times called the alleged bow a "shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate" and said it violated centuries of American tradition of not deferring to royalty. The Weekly Standard, meanwhile, noted that American protocol apparently rules...

The White House today said that Mr. Obama's bow was due to the fact that Obama is taller than the Saudi king and he bent down to shake the king's hand with both of his. The video on YouTube shows differently so, I thought the relevant frame of video should be given it's own thread. Either Mr. Obama has grown a third hand or the "unnamed White House source" is a total liar.Video link. Stop the video at :05 and :12. The bow happens before the double handed hand-shake.

Politico.com reports that the White House is denying that President Obama bowed to Saudi King Abdullah last week during the G-20 Summit in London: The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets. One picture is worth a thousand words: And here's the link to the video, so you can watch the whole thing over and over while screaming, "THIS IS YOUR IDEA OF RESTORING AMERICAN PRESTIGE?"It didn't take long before the official denial: "Barack Obama did not show subservient fealty to that king, Mr. Abdullah..." Barack Obama's handler's may be right. At least technically. From Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language: "Curtsy: a bow by women in recognition or respect, consisting of bending the knees and lowering the body." Let's see: bent knees - check. Lowered body - check. Woman?...

In a shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate, President Obama bowed to Saudi King Abdullah at the Group of 20 summit in London last week. Mr. Obama later said in Strasbourg, France, "We have to change our behavior in showing the Muslim world greater respect." Symbolism is important in world affairs. By bending over to show greater respect to Islam, the U.S. president belittled the power and independence of the United States. The bow was an extraordinary protocol violation. Such an act is a traditional obeisance befitting a king's subjects, not his peer. There is no precedent for...

By now, we've all seen the video of what certainly appears to be Obama bowing before the Saudi King: This apparent shameless prostrating has sparked outrage in the United States. But the White House claims Obama did not bow before the king. The White House claims that Obama was just bending over to shake the King's hand because Obama is so tall. Well...There's only one way to know. We can examine Obama's handshaking habits. Does Obama have a habit of bending down low enough to sniff a man's private parts when he shakes hands with people shorter than himself? The...

I really wasn’t going to write about this again, mostly because I was convinced that the national media had let Barack Obama off the hook completely for his tradition- and protocol-breaking bow to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. However, Ben Smith reports that the White House has now been asked about it, thanks to a Washington Times editorial scolding Obama for the move — and that they’re denying it ever happened: The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right...
