Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is reported to have accepted US President Barack Obama's plan on Monday saying he would resume peace talks based on pre-1967-lines with land swaps. The borders would change, but this would be the starting point for talks, sources said. If true, the move is a reversal of Netanyahu's own firm position that such negotiations would be unacceptable to Israel as they could not possibly result in secure, defensible borders for the Jewish state. It is unclear what has become of Netanyahu's other requirements for negotiations, such as PA recognition of Israel as a Jewish state, at...

Comrade Obama gives his obeisance to the guy he sold your children to, mainland China's top commie, Hu Jintao: Just how out of touch does Chairman Zero have to be not to realize that his habit of bowing obsequiously to America's rivals while blowing his nose at friends like Britain and Israel is not playing in Peoria? At least we don't have to worry about him bowing to our allies. He hates their guts, and the feeling is becoming mutual.

So, let’s get this straight: On a visit to Israel by Vice President Biden, a lower-level, Israeli government agency announces its intent to build more housing units in East Jerusalem and the Obama administration goes nuclear, condemning the announcement as though it was a violation of some sacred agreement between the two countries—which of course it wasn’t. The Israeli government, in turn, apologizes for the timing of the announcement but is told that this will not be enough. Israel now must, according to the administration, “prove” it wants peace. Now, shift to yesterday in Russia: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton...

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama suffered another setback Monday as a fifth Democratic senator, centrist heavyweight Evan Bayh, decided not to run for re-election in dismay at the bitter political climate. Obama, who reportedly tried to talk Bayh out of retiring, faces a looming Republican resurgence and risks watching strong majorities in Congress crumble in November mid-term elections, and with them his ambitious reform agenda. With his tearful wife and two sons at his side, Bayh, 54, expressed disenchantment with excessive partisanship in the Congress as he announced his decision at a press conference in the state capital...

AP: U.S. President Barack Obama bows to Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio at MacDill Air Force Base on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 in Tampa, Fla.

The White House today said that Mr. Obama's bow was due to the fact that Obama is taller than the Saudi king and he bent down to shake the king's hand with both of his. The video on YouTube shows differently so, I thought the relevant frame of video should be given it's own thread. Either Mr. Obama has grown a third hand or the "unnamed White House source" is a total liar.Video link. Stop the video at :05 and :12. The bow happens before the double handed hand-shake.

When President Obama met King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia during the Group of 20 summit in London last week, he made a deep bow from the waist, to which the reaction in conservative blogs was (paraphrased) "We fought a king in 1776, for this." Jeff Goldstein at Protein Wisdom recalled how New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani "once practically spit in the face of a presumptuous Saudi Prince" before going on to draw an obscenely unfavorable comparison to the regime to whose leader Mr. Obama was bowing. "Our President? He … bowed. He bowed to religious intolerance. He bowed to...

HAVANA (Reuters) - Convalescing Cuban leader Fidel Castro has bowed out of Thursday's Revolution Day festivities, with his stand-in and brother, Raul Castro, to speak in his place, the government said on Wednesday. "Raul will speak tomorrow" blared a red banner headline of the Communist party newspaper Granma. The news was hardly a surprise to most Cubans and foreign observers as Fidel Castro has repeatedly failed to appear in public since undergoing the first of a series of intestinal operations a year ago. "We'll be waiting for him. If Fidel can't make it, who better than Raul to be here,"...

At least 27 suspected Taliban warriors were arrested at the private al-Khair Hospital in Quetta where some were receiving medical treatment for wounds. Meanwhile in the port city of Karachi, police arrested a suspected Islamic militant accused of training religious students to become suicide bombers and deploying them against coalition troops in Afghanistan. There have been months of diplomatic wrangling over Pakistan's apparent...

Schröder bows out with a dig at Blair and Bush By Kate Connollyin Berlin (Filed: 13/10/2005) Germany's outgoing chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, took swipes at Britain and America yesterday as he announced that he would not be part of the next government. In a speech to trade unionists in his home town of Hanover, he criticised Tony Blair over his vision for the future of the European Union. Gerhard Schröder yesterday "I say to my British friend that people in Germany, in Europe, do not want complete denationalisation," he said. "They want a state that is not in front of their...

Tribe shoots arrows at aid flightAn Indian helicopter dropping food and water over the remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been attacked by tribesmen using bows and arrows. There were fears that the endangered tribal groups had been wiped out when massive waves struck their islands. But the authorities say the attack is a sign that they have survived. More than 6,000 people there are confirmed as either dead or missing, but thousands of others are still unaccounted for. The Indian coastguard helicopter was flying low over Sentinel Island to drop aid when it came under attack. A senior police...

Gun-toting rock wife aims for KerryFrom The Sunday Times17may04 IF you go down to the woods today, make sure you are wearing a bright orange safety vest and hope that Shemane Nugent is not hiding behind a bush with a .38 tucked in her belt and a steel-tipped arrow loaded in her hunting bow. The blonde huntress, who is the wife of rock star Ted Nugent and mother to son Rocco, stormed into Washington last week to introduce the capital's urban elite to a growing political phenomenon: gals who like guns.
