Boy, that sure was fun. My face is all painted up right now. They use a blowtorch to put on the pancake makeup. Was so much fun. The exec producer was unbelievably nice to us and gave Mark and me very sincere media pointers. We only touched the tip of the iceberg on the subject. Will be doing Laura Ingraham's show at 11:35am EST. If anyone is in Manhattan, Mark and I will be signing books at Borders at 461 Park Avenue at 57st Street from 6:30 - 7:30pm Thursday night. Thankis for the support.

First of all, I cant thank you all enough, But you are what you are and you know it: good, decent people, the very people who are treatred with contempt by Hollywood. (I am from the place; I know.) As for book placement, you've got to check it out! At Barnes and Noble we are front and center: behind the counter... a separate "Hollywood, Interrupted" display, central placement on yet another central table. This is at the store in Manhattan at 67th and Broadway, the heart of the liberal beast. Wiley, our publisher, even gave us an awesome billboard on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood: "What This Town Needs is An Intervention!' Very in your face. Fun. This very mainstream publisher has been a dream, and the bookstores have not pulled back from what I hear. Thanks, again -- off to do Fox and Friends at 7:45 EST. Haven't even slept today! Did 3 hours of radio starting at 1am with Joey Reynolds on WOR AM. If you see me, keep that in mind -- serious sleep deprivation!!!

Hey Freepers, this is my book, and I am in New York right now trying to publicize it. Our publisher Wiley had us booked not only on Today and Norville -- only to cancel once they saw the book indicts media for its complicity in promoting celebrity idiocy and madness -- but tonight outr confirmed booking on Scarborough Country was dropped. Say it ain't so, Joe! Looks like NBC has put the kabash on a book that explores the deepest, darkest parts of the celebrity world including a look at the Scientology cult, not to mention celeb nannies declare their their bosses unfit parents and worthy of being sterilized. This book also reams them for their politics (Chapter title 'Reds' says it all...) CNN, MNBC boycott... Today we did Fox News Live and tomorrow Fox and Friends: You do the math!

If anyone knows anyone at Scarborough, tell them Ebner and I (Andrew Breitbart) would like to know (possibly through back channels) how NBC corporate brass told them to rudely cancel us after we traveled to NYC for the appearance.

Even without his support "Hollywood, Interrupted" is hovering around 100 at Amazon right now -- ahead of that Ezsterhas guy's 800 page tell-all.

If you are fed up with celebrities and their insane sense of entitlement, insane behavior and insane politics (if they cant govern their own lives, how can why do they feel compelled to tell us how to govern ours?) then this is a good book for you.

Thanks for hearing my media gripe... Andrew
  • Spielberg to NewsMax: Cuba Lied About What I Said

Look, NEWSMAX was used here. Big time. This so-called 'Spielberg's people' is Steven Rivers. He is a left wing PR hack who has been trying to undo the quote for quite some time. If Spielberg wanted to retract the quote he could, easily, like he did when he was falsely quoted as saying he supported Bush on Iraq. Spielberg immediately filed a press release clarifying the situation; He did not support the Republican president--God Forbid.

When aligned with Bush, Spielberg was quick to officially distance himself. When aligned with Castro, Spielberg used a left wing ally (Rivers worked with Tom Hayden and Gary Hart and organized the Spielberg Cuba trip in the first place) to try to undo the damage of the quote, without Spielberg himself having to embarrass Cuba or Castro by retracting the comment after he graciously hosted him. ARGH~!@#$@#$ Why would Newsmax be used so easily here?!

Argument #2 is a joke. She says we are going to Iraq as a distraction from war on terror being a failure. This Iraq story has been playing out since before the ousting of the Taliban in Afghanistan. The debate which they demanded before Congress and the UN has played out on her team's timetable. So to talk about this in terms of Bush doing this to hide from failures in war on terror is a joke. If it was up to us we would have done this a long time ago. Duh. And as for this 'wag the dog' suggestion, what was BS's take on the timing of her lover Bubba's missile distractions in Afghanistan, sudan and Iraq, all timing perfectly with Lewinsky plot points.

I am in the process of attempting to convert untold L.A. westside types to the right side. My best project so far has been the conversion on a Berkeley educated Jewish liberal to the Republican party and to conservativism in general. He, now, is obsessed on the nature of the stranglehold of the left on his fellow Jews and is trying to take on members in his own family (grandfathers, aunts, etc.) trying to understand why they are unquestioning in the Democratic allegiance. A few other friends are now at least open to debate, where in the past they kind of just accepted the DNC talking points. I think progress is slowly being made.

My teen years were spent in LA traveling around to see X, and other local bands like Fishbone and the Chili Peppers. Clearly, X, during the Billy Zoom years, were the best of the bunch. I ended up going to college in Louisiana and in the Fall of 87 the Chili Peppers were starting to get a national following and appeared at Storyville in the French Quarter on their 'Rock Out with Your C$&ck Out tour. That night X opened and Exene was like 8 months pregnant. X was huge here. their vaguely countrified punk rock sound did wonders for drowning out the Sunset Strip scene of the time (Poison, Ratt, etc.) I have seen X in recent years at the House of Blues here in LA and it is a pleasant event, but kinda sad to see how we've all aged and how the spirit of your teens and 20s can't be replicated.

On another note, I hope they gave a nod to Liz Phair. she has sorta waned in recent times, but her first two albums, Exile in Guyville and WhipSmart were excellent.

Well, if you go to college they will fill you to the gills with a bunch of 'social critics' collectively known as the Frankfurt School. They are known as Social Marxists, and had huge influence in affecting American culture. I would argue for the worse.

They basically took the economic theories of Marx and Hegel and applied them to social constructs.

Among the most important of these thinkers associated with this movement are Antonio Gramsci, Herbert Marcuse, Theodor Adorno.

Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida are major figures of the modern left who drew upon the Franfurtites. Mention any of the above names at college faculty cocktail party and watch eyes light up.

While I disagree with all of the above with every fiber of my being, they are clearly smart fellas whose works and ideas are the tools by which the left helps shape mass opinion.

Study Marcuse's infleunce in shaping anti-Vietnam War sentiment, specifically his coining of the slogan "Make Love, Not War".

Upon getting up to speed with these intellectual deviants, you will see why the left is made up of so many activist groups broken down by identity politics. It becomes so transparent that a cultural conspiracy of mammoth proportions has taken place, it may take you a few days to beckon the courage to walk outside for a few days.

    Dear Mr. Penn,

When you stop attacking photographers and tying up your wives and holding them hostage for hours, and maybe, but hardly likely, we'll start to take you seriously.

'I Am Sam' is your 'legacy of shame and horror,' and you owe me $9.50 for that stinker.

And by the way, this silly 'in the name of patriotism' canard the left keeps throwing out is getting old. Bush has never said nor implied that dissenters are unpatriotic. Lord knows most of you Hollywood lefties are unpatriotic and would prefer Daniel Ortega in the White House, but that argument is pretty much is the sub-subtext of our problems with you guys. And you know it's the truth.

To your credit, you seem to be the only one who has had the guts to take your criticism stateside. In recent Tourettes-like political proclamations, your peers Jessica Lange, Robert Altman, Woody Harrelson, et al have taken to spewing their vile rhetoric to likeminded appeasers over bottles of Pellegrino in Europe.

Your 'sincere' tone, unfortunately, is the giveaway. There is nothing sincere about your criticism of Bush. I live here. Right near you and your Hollywood elite buddies. There is no such thing as a social get-together here where you all don't rip him to pieces, challenging even his basic humanity and mental acuity. And on top of it, you make anyone who thinks otherwise a pariah. (Usually they're the workers who get paid 1/100th what you get paid and quietly go about their business on the set.)

And if the society you guys have created out here in Hollywood is any preview of what you'd have in store for the rest of the nation if your politics were to be realized, I'd cross the 405 to take up arms for the other side and fight a bloody civil war-like battle against you elitist nightmares. Each and every one of you. That means your buddies, Julia and Eric Roberts, too.

Now, please, concentrate on picking decent flicks that don't patronize the audience. You are a good actor and your inflated sense of self has caused you to make too many tragic choices in recent times. Get off your soap box, stop doing Charlie Rose and Actor's Studio-like I-AM-AN-ARTIST crap, call your agent, and tell him to concentrate on getting you palatable work. Fast Times 2 sounds about right.

Novak is Arab only in philosophy. He is virulently anti-Israel and a classic moral relativist on the subject. He throws out terms like 'cycle of violence' and 'Israeli occupation' in his sleep. CNN prefers to use 'conservatives' who are so compromised in their thinking that they won't sway viewership in that direction. Hence Tucker Carlson and Buchanan's seat on the right. Who among us is a Tucker Carlson conservative? Like him or not, Buchanan is the definition of divisive within conservative ranks. But after 9/11 I couldn't believe that this 'reasonable' man had so much open animosity toward Jews. He spouted off about growing up in Poland with lots of Jewish friends, and alluded to having intimate knowledge of their duplicitous ways, and he seemed to try to walk the fine line of saying 9/11 was awful, but he understood where the terrorists were coming from. Needless to say he is no great supporter of the state of Israel.

Well, I started this thread and said I'd check back in:

If I conveyed that the crowd was a nice diverse cross-section of Americana... I'd have been wrong. I walked there with my wife and two little kids and my son was clearly freaked out my the riff raff: college wannabe hippy kids more in the Rage Against the Machine vain than Jefferson Airplane, but throwing the peace sign around, then there were the ethnic contingencies: serious La Raza 'America is Racist' action, tshirts of Che Guevara, black separatist types, and a few black anti-Israel folks. The people, almost to a person, were slimy if not filthy. Most everyone had the 'See, I can fit my ideology on a t-shirt' mentality. There was a handful of the white middle class guilt crowd. The folks that for appearance sake could be mistaken for Gap salespeople, and I'm sure they can put this into their journals that they stood up for the little people today (I don't know how, but..)

My wife, who is not quiet as political as I am, really was taken aback by how ugly and 'cult-like' the people were. there was a sick Manson family quality to the revelers acceptance of the diverse anti-american complaints, just as long as the all agreed Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are the 'real axis of evil'.

When I first drove by at its peak, I was intimidated. I thought: I wonder if this time -- versus the post 9/11 march at same place -- these people had learned their lessons. Upon further investigation, I am far from worried. If this is the anti-war constituency we have nothing to fear.

    09/29/2002 2:00:01 PM PDT · 1 of 7
Funny that the NEW YORK TIMES is surgically removing Bill Clinton and Terry McAuliffe's direct ties to and White House pamperings of David Chang -- especially now when there is a clear attempt to smear NJ businessman's credibility. In order to look quasi-objective, the TIMES has painted this story in the WACKY CHINESE GUY SAID, SENATOR SAID context.

The strategy seems to be a sorta 'modified, limited hangout', if you will, where Torch's scandal becomes New Jersey-bound and does not bleed into the Democrat's overall political machinery.

Considering the NY TIMES own timeline (albeit one that is two years old and missing from it's current Chang pieces) it's hard not do see it in the full context of the Democratic Party and its highly corrupt/quid pro quo fundraising operation.

"Wet Hot American Summer". Came out in 2001. A summer camp movie send up (a la Meatballs). This movie, like what 'Dazed and Confused' did to the mid seventies and high school, does to 1981 and sleepaway summer camps. Over the top funny and absurd at times. One of the funniest un-PC scenes I have ever scene -- think two male counselors... The hyper-PC Janeane Garafalo is actually in this, but despite that, the film is not affected.

A movie from the mid 80s called the "Whoopee Boys" starring Paul Rodriguez and Michael "Danny Noonan" O'Keefe also is offensive on many levels and enjoyable if you are in a stupid mood.

I need an 'enemy' and I found her. Her name is Sarah Eltantawi and this smug American of Egyptian background is a walking and talking 24/7 rationalizer for terror. She is an expert at doubletalk and lies, and thusly the NY TIMES and NPR have been bringing her on as an expert on the Middle East. She is making the rounds as a twentysomething pro-Arab expert on talk radio, cable news and even Politically Incorrect, as well, (she's quite a laugh riot -- unintentionally so.)
