Though not in the habit of posting vanities, I am in dire need of help from FReepers today! I'm in a heated debate with some people who are unsure who they will vote for. They contend that the Benghazi tragedy happened because the Republican congress cut funding for embassy security and so Hillary is innocent. I mistakenly mentioned a stand-down order and was told thee was no such thing. Not wanting an argument about that much debated issue to cloud the real issue, Hillary, I need help explaining why she was to blame. Please help.... I'm listening
  • How Thomas Jefferson Responded to Islam in 1801 Puts Current Administration to Shame

Obama should really pick up a history book sometime, and read about how one of his predecessors, and one of our nation’s Founding Fathers, handled the threat posed by radical Islamic jihadists, way back in 1801. (Read about how Thomas Jefferson responded to radical Islamic kidnappings, beheadings, and extortion)

Special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have seized since October illegally imported Chinese honey valued at $2.45 million destined for U.S. consumers. HSI and CBP have stepped up efforts regarding commercial fraud investigations that focus on U.S. economic, and health and safety interests. Anti-dumping schemes create a divergent market that negatively affects legitimate businesses.
  • Democrat Rep: ‘You Don’t Have a Right to Know’ What’s Going on in Your Government

“You don’t have a right to know everything in a separation-of-powers government, my friend. That is the difference between a parliamentary government and a separation-of-powers government,” Democrat congresswoman, Eleanor Holmes Norton, claimed during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing. It’s amazing that America possesses even one citizen who would believe such an obvious falsehood; it’s even more outrageous that America has a representative in Congress who believes this. • GEICO Gecko Puts a Fork in the Great American Experiment

    American Thinker ^ | December 16, 2013 | Marcus Ebenhack
Have you seen GEICO's latest commercial? Where the gecko drops his tea bag in Boston Harbor and declares "I guess this party's over"? Between President Obama, his Democratic allies and operatives including the mainstream media and the Republican establishment, the Tea Party has become a quite popular and very easy target. To hear them tell it, it is the root of all evil and all that is wrong with American politics and our political discourse today. And this is what we've come to in the age of Obama. The declaration of the end of the great American experiment in self-governance...

Two historic events happened in the Gulf of Mexico this spring: Unimaginable amounts of accidental oil rose from a hole one mile below the water's surface. Bigger than that, the federal government was exposed as the Wizard of Oz, unable to do anything about it.

The census will determine the apportionment of House members and Electoral College votes for each state. To accomplish these vital constitutional purposes, the enumeration should count only citizens and persons who are legal, permanent residents. But it won’t.

Please excuse the Vanity post - I am desperate! I have a new PC with Windows 7. At odd times I loose the Internet connection. I know cable internet signal is coming through the router as other PCs in the system have connections. At first the lost connection was happening each time I would reboot. Now it happens at seemingly "random" times .... I realize it's probly not random, but I can't see a correlation yet ... and the connection usually comes back when I reboot again. The Dell tech support wants me to reinstall the windows software. That would...

I don't believe it. But my friends in Obama-land, the place where all good Democrats are, or are heading to, are worried. The concern is that Hillary could take a page from the book of one Joe Lieberman, once and former good Democrat, and decide that having lost out on his party's nomination to someone he couldn't see winning a general election, the better option (for him) was to run himself in the fall. Which he did. And won. Beating the liberal Democrat who had beaten him in the primary. Of course, in Lieberman's case, it was his senate seat,...

Last week, the Census Bureau released statistics showing that for the first time in years, poverty had increased for three straight years, while the number of Americans without health care increased to a record level.1 But instead of changing its economic and health care policies, the Bush administration today is announcing plans to change the way the statistics are compiled. The move is just the latest in a series of actions by the White House to doctor or eliminate longstanding and nonpartisan economic data collection methods. In a Bush administration press release yesterday, the Census Bureau said next week it...

Democrat Cynthia McKinney, whose tirades against President Bush helped get her tossed out two years ago, appeared headed back to Washington ...... McKinney ran a low-to-the-ground campaign among the black voters of south DeKalb County — emphasizing her 10 years' experience in Congress rather than a rematch with Bush. Tuesday night, McKinney called her primary victory "one of the greatest political comebacks in history." "We've got to make America, America," McKinney told supporters. "We've got to avoid any backsliding on civil rights or human rights. We've got to get our troops out of harm's way. We've got to turn around...

NEW YORK (AP) - First, Martha Stewart declared she is used to hard work and is not afraid of prison. Later, in an interview with ABC News, the homemaking expert repeated that she would be able to handle it and compared her plight to that of anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela. ``I could do it,'' she said, according to excerpts released by ABC late Friday. ``I'm a really good camper. I can sleep on the ground. There are many, many good people who have gone to prison. Look at Nelson Mandela.''

Gap widening between Bush and conservatives Jonah Goldberg I thought President Bush's State of the Union address was fine. It wasn't outrageously long. He drew a bright line between himself and his critics on the war in Iraq, the Patriot Act, Social Security Reform, etc. He delivered it well, and the nudity was tasteful and integral to the plot. As luck - or bad timing - would have it, I was invited to Manhattan to address the New York State Conservative Party right before the president addressed the nation. It seemed only fitting since the subject of my speech was...

Stop Identity Theft – Make Social Security Numbers Confidential by Rep. Ron Paul, MD Ron Paul in the US House of Representatives, January 7, 2003 Mr. Speaker, today I introduce the Identity Theft Prevention Act. This act protects the American people from government-mandated uniform identifiers that facilitate private crime as well as the abuse of liberty.. The major provision of the Identity Theft Prevention Act halts the practice of using the Social Security number as an identifier by requiring the Social Security Administration to issue all Americans new Social Security numbers within five years after the enactment of the bill....

Islam's Wretched Record on Slavery By Serge Trifkovic As the recent campaign for reparations has shown, the West is still being taken to task for the fact that it used to permit slavery. But in fact the West, rather than being the origin of slavery in the world, is in fact the only civilization to have created from within itself a successful movement to abolish it. Other civilizations, like Islamic civilization, have not yet achieved this. To this day, the principal places in the world where one can buy a slave for ready cash are Moslem countries. This should not...

ASHCROFT, YOU IDIOT! Well, the Homeland Security bill will soon be law. “Know Your Customer” will be a reality. Now the Imperial Federal Government is going to gain access to virtually every bit of electronic data there is about you. This means everything … from airline tickets to grocery purchases to magazine subscriptions to deposit records to credit card purchases to association memberships. All of it. Some criticism has been leveled against Attorney General John Ashcroft for his support of this “Total Information Awareness” program. His response? Well, Ashcroft says “I think the kinds of technology that can sell soap...
