Got news for you, pal...The NRA lost the battle on the assault weapons ban. Remember...Clinton banned them!

It expired which is why it went away. There was not a repeal bill. NRA has been claiming a lot of bogus victories.
They are like the Rooster who take credit for the sun coming up.

Media Savvy??? really??? Yet, not a word of sorrow for the little victims of a nut job who gun control laws did not stop???

No, what they will do is compromise. They are already retreating. Took down their own Facebook page, when they could have just closed it to comments. They backed democrats who signed a party platform calling for a ban on “assault weapons”...and everybody knows Dems have already tried to claim that Beretta with 10 or more rounds can be an “assault weapon”.

Until they prove their worth...I’m not sending another dime.

“The NRA backs the candidate with the highest pro gun rating. Some win and some don’t.”

Ok, let’s do away with this bogus claim once and for all...the Harry was really a hight rating for pro-gun legislation.

They were able to claim that because his opponent did not have a Senate voting record because she had not been in the Senate. They backed him because he was Sen. Majority leader and likely to win, in their view. Lobbyist are always defaulting to “back the incumbant”. And they knew very well that when it comes to gun control, Harry WILL cave and we’ll be stuck with muskets before it is all over.

You can bet they will “compromise” on future legislation.

This is exactly the time for this concern! (There is no “argument” to it. Nothing to debate here. The fact of what is going on with NRA supported candidates going soft is fact). You don’t wait until it is too late! Giving even a little ground only leads to bigger problems and loss of rights. The only reason someone would not be aware of this reality is if they were living in a cave for the past 30 years. Or...if they were one of those who is also soft on protecting our rights to own guns...

Ok, there’s a reality here you should consider. The NRA is nothing more than lip service when gets down to the brass tax of really defending gun owners. Yes, they donate money, but far too often they donate to dems who are not truly pro 2nd Amendment. They give money to Dems who want magazine limits, bans on semi-autos, etc.

A couple of years ago at a hunting show, they had an NRA booth. The rep there was a former staffer of a member who is NOT truly for gun rights. He was even bad mouthing semi-auto rifles while talking to people. I’ve worked the Hill because of my career. And I was just shocked to see him of all people working as a public rep of the NRA who was supposedly defending my rights.

I too tried to send a message through their contact system. It would not let me complete it. If LaPierre keeps up the window dressing, why should I renew. They recently were on the side of an issue that was going to sell us out on ammo issues.

For close to 3 days now, gun owners have been under attack. And not a single peep out of LaPierre and the NRA.

Oh, and a tip. Elected Officials care about getting re-elected. Which is why the NRA gives donations to the Hill. However, don’t underestimate the impact your voice has if you call your Congressman and tell them you back their next primary opponent or opponent if they give in and take away your gun ownership rights. And that includes having 30 round magazines and semi-autos.

And I said call. Do not fax. Call them. If you know people in other Congressional districts, tell them to call. Trust me, it works. You can also usually send an e-mail through their write the rep system. I know the NRA lobbys...but trust me, if the Congressional members do not get calls or letters, they’ll think that the NRA is blowing smoke and that they can vote for whatever and be fine.

I know most people say that well, they’ll vote that Congressman out if they vote that way. Guess what...it is too late then. Damage to your rights are already done.

If you want to give money to the NRA, hey, that’s your biz. I’m just telling you. You need to call your Congress member and Senator. Trust me, they all check in with their DC Staff and District Staff to see what the call numbers are on an issue...for or against.

Keep in mind, their DC Staff is nothing more than kids who were college interns, who went straight to staff. No real world experience. And their experience is in Washington...a liberal bubble. They are clueless to fly over country. Yet, many of the members listen to the DC staff for some crazy reason.

Again, and I don’t care if your member is a died in the wool conservative, if they don’t hear from you, don’t be surprised if they vote for some gun control.

Not tryng to be a bummer here. Just some reality from someone who had the “joy” of working that dreadful scene.

This would have been announced over a month ago, but Obama told all the union shops and other companies to hold off on notifying people about layoffs until after the election.

Nevermind the fact that, law requires a timely and multi month notification of layoffs.

That some management took an early hit is a bad sign. When it hits the union gimps, they’ll be awoken to a hell of a sad reality.

But I saw about 5 of them today who had that “oh, no, what happens now that he won” look. I’d have to agree on that one. His win in Texas in the general was not a big deal. It is a seat that is a lock.
And his primary win had more to do with Dewhurst making all the wrong moves. Dewhurst basically gave Cruz a ton of free advertisement in quotes.

We’ll see if Cruz turns out to be the conservative he claims...or the Washington Establishment Republican he worked as at the FTC, as well as the clerk/lawyer circles up there.

For him to run for the job, the R members would need to hear from their voters. When they get enough calls with the idea, they go to Ryan (Mainly because he is a star and they want to be around a star) and they mention to he an others that folks are pushing the idea. That’s how the seed gets planted in Washington. Is also wakes up the current Speaker and forces his hand.

And before someone calls this idea of movement dubious, realize that this is how some things work on the Hill. By the way, Dirty Harry is talking about changing filibuster rools in the Senate (according to Fox News). So anything that causes a stir and at least wakes up the current Speaker...well, I’ll try anything at this point.

I agree with the PJ’s. Mitt worked really hard. And the media was all against him. They are in full cover up mode for Benghazi and they refuse to report what the folks who were hit by Sandy are STILL dealing with.

We are now dealing with a Democrat state run media. Not even Fox is centrist. They are more Dem than Republican. But the rest are so wacko liberal that Fox looks centrist.

When you have an idiot who is the face of a network (Chris Matthews/MSNBC) say he is glad that Sandy hit last week for political reasons, than you know that network a liberal hate machine.

Sorry to say this, but Republicans who did not show up to vote have to shoulder some of the blame of Obama getting re-elected.

Sitting around like bullheaded fools with a “I’ll show them” attitude and not voting for Romney. As a result, due to less turnout, their non vote was a default vote for obama. Sorry, but it really does come down to the math. Which is why they do the counts.

Just as with them not showing up for McCain, the only point they proved is they were too foolish to have even the slightest bit of foresight and see how bad obama hurts this nation.

Sorry, but I love my country too much. Romney was the only option to protect my nation from obama in the general election.

Also, all the tea party guys we got into the House in 2010. They have not been the conservatives they claimed to be (mainly by sticking Tea Party on a sign and having folks follow them like blind sheep). But they are still better than the alternative. So not voting for someone who may not be a tea party person, when the other option is obama, shows an inability to see the big picture.

People can flame me all they want, but last night proves me right. At some point people need to use some common sense.

Because we ran a moderate, we lost. And now we are in danger of no longer being the best nation on earth.

I don’t trust Republicans in the House to stand up on the debt limit and shut the gov down. They are way too interested in being on TV, rather than doing their job and ivestigating Benghazi or the response to Sandy or really investigating Fast and Furious (House hearings are dog and pony shows where testimony is submitted in writing before hand by lawyer covering people’s tails).

This President should be facing impeachment and all we get from Republicans, even the tea party republicans we elected to the House, is excuses of why they should not.

Dewhurst has the more conservative record of the two.

It is amazing to see how so many Cruz supporters are upset with the not so supreme ruling on Arizona trying to rightfully protect itself. IF those supporters were really for border security and states rights, then they would not be supporting Cruz.

Cruz is NOT a conservative. This is where the Tea Pary folks have set themselves up to be used. They got so wrapped up in the Tea Party logo and yelling at rallies, they failed to actually look at records. Cruz is DC insider the bureaucrat. His legal work helped China screw over US business people. He and his firm work with amnesty clients.
    Period. That cannot be denied.

Perry has been to Iowa several times.

Palin...she can’t win it. She’s just in there for attention.
That reality show was pretty much the last nail. If she has any sense, that she already knows that. She wins the primary (unlikely), and it is 4 more years of the vactioner in chief who just insulted a queen and thousands of families affected by storms in our nation’s heartland.

Perry is actually the real deal. He, as was his dad, was a rancher.

You sound like the libs and the rinos here who were upset when KBH got beat.
My guess is if you actually live in Texas...you moved here from some wimp state up north. We Texans know he’s a cowboy...which is why put him in office. You got a problem with out Governor who made this the top hiring state in the country...then you can pack yer frickin’ Prius and move to California. I hear the Governors there are a real treat.

Shocker, Dem in the White House, conservative books do well. Just like last time. And when a Republican gets back in the White House...liberal attack books will be up again.

    People like insults.

Wake up call, folks. This is not as bad as it should be for the Administration.

Think about it. 48 some odd percent of people still think that nutty commie health care destroying agenda is a good idea????

CNN knows that there are plenty of swing voters out there. And as soon as dems fires something up and get just one good day of polling, people will get quoted as liking his plan. And thent he wishy washy swing voters will turn right around and say they like it too. Because they have no idea what the hell they are looking at, they just want to be accepted at the water cooler.
